Lost in the palace

AMBER’S POV

When I woke up the following day I found myself being choked by the muscular man next to me, I remembered that sometime during the night I had fallen asleep after I gave up trying to get out of his chokehold. I looked at him and wondered how I had landed myself in this situation. I couldn’t stop cursing at Cain and Elder Marcus because they were the reason I was here. Why did I agree to this? I asked myself why I hadn't fought harder to get them to let me stay but then I remembered that I was told that I didn’t have a say in the matter. It was a decision that was made on my behalf by my self-appointed guardian.

I tried once more to get out of his hold to avail and I sighed and looked at him in frustration, I considered waking him up but I just knew that waking him up was not going to do me any good. He was not going to let me go even if I asked. I wished he could just let me go so that I could go back home. As if the moon goddess (whom I still didn’t believe in) had heard
