Chapter 16B

Monica's pov

*In Exile*

After some hours of dozing off, I awaken, and to my greatest surprise, I am surrounded by the inmates. They look at me strangely and actually wait for me to awaken.

The cell was wide enough to contain as many inmates as it could, but there was not enough air, and sometimes inmates looked very unhealthy at every moment in time.

The cells were separated by a metal bar and given space by each other throughout the prison. The walls of the prison were always marked with the names of dangerous inmates, some of whom were sometimes sentenced to death.

It was very unfortunate for me to be in the midst of these inmates. I regained myself fully and sat in their midst. I culled myself slowly into a small enclosure and decided to stay on my own.

I was sitting on my own until I heard some murmurs among them.

What could they be discussing about me?
