Aaron knew for a fact that what he was doing was potentially dangerous to everyone involved. Both him and Mia could be greatly affected by this. He couldn't understand why his wolf responded so quickly to her. It reacted to things as insignificant as her scent.
She was cursed and could not transform to her wolf form. It was the rumor that preceded her the moment that she set foot in his territory.
That night when he had seen her in that inn, she was at the bar and she was just sitting there, drinking from her cup, his wolf had reacted to her. He tried to control it but it was very hard and almost impossible.
Finally, he approached her.
He was wearing a cloak that night so that he wouldn't be recognized by any werewolf within his territory. There were only a few who knew it was him and they were the ones he had met with in that same inn.
"You're wasted." He said.
"Why do you care?" She asked
"I don't actually." Aaron replied coldly.
She scoffed and took another huge gulp from her cup. She tried to stand but then I caught her before she would collide with the ground.
She chuckled lightly, "I hope you're not expecting a thank you from me?"
That night, he wasn't aware that she was Mia. I didn't think she would be the one but after everything we did and realizing just how much my wolf responded to her, I decided to look into her.
Justice reported to me that she had been to the alchemist trying to find a solution to a curse.
He was shocked at first,
"Are you sure of what you're telling me, Justice?" I asked him.
"Yes Alpha." He replied.
"And what of her name? Did you get it?"
He nodded, "Mia. That's what he called her."
I smirked, I wasn't supposed to be enjoying this but it was weird that out of every werewolf that I would have an intimate encounter with, it just happened to be my stepsister who I had left behind a long time ago.
"She was different but why did my wolf respond to her? If she truly is the daughter of my father and I am his son, my wolf should not have responded to her in the manner it did." He thought.
He needed to get to the bottom of all these confusions. His head was disorganized at that moment.
He sighed and called Justice over to his office,
"You called for me." Justice said.
"I want you to always look after her. She doesn't know much about our pack and her safety is very important." He said.
Justice bowed slightly, "but Alpha Aaron, if I might ask, why are you doing this?"
Aaron sighed and looked away towards the open window, "I don't know either, I can't seem to control myself and I have to find out something important." Aaron replied.
"But what of the Luna, Miram?" He asked.
Aaron scoffed, "I didn't make Miram my Luna. She has you all bowing to her and making yourselves her puppet. You all are at her disposal and I have nothing to do with that. I don't intend to mate with her anymore for reasons best known to us."
"Has she discovered this new..." Justice didn't know what to call Mia and it was understandable.
Aaron knew that what he was doing had already begun to throw everyone within his palace into confusion and soon, that confusion would spread to the rest of his pack's large territory.
"I'm sure that once she does she will barge into this..." Aaron had not completed his statement when a very furious Miram barged into his office.
He looked at Justice and nodded slightly and immediately Justice understood that it was his cue to leave.
Once the door was shut firmly behind him, Miram started.
"How could you, Aaron? Is that how cheaply you regard me?" She asked in fury.
Anyone could sense the rage that boiled in her. She was ready to take down anything and anyone in sight. Aaron didn't have the luxury of time to be dealing with her insecurities.
"You're not going to say anything?" She asked, bewildered.
"What do you want me to say exactly? That I don't want to mate you anymore? I think I've told you that already." Aaron replied.
She walked up furiously to him and held him by his shoulder and turned him to look at her face directly,
"You know that this is a bad decision. Will the council ever support you on this. I am the rightful Luna and you know that with or without mating you. You took the position of Alpha from my father and in order to avert any further grievances, you promised him that you would make me your mate and that nothing else mattered." She paused,
"You and I," she slowly traced her fingertips sensually over his shoulder and down to his chest before looking at him once again with her big sexy orbs,
Those eyes of hers were irresistible. Once upon a time, they turned Aaron up so much that he found it hard to control himself and would always end up doing her bidding but now, things were different. Those eyes weren't what turned him on and her bidding wasn't what he wanted to be doing. Someone else was important now and the mysteries between the both of them would only lure him to her further.
"...have what no one else has. A burning passion and desire to be in each other's arms. Have you forgotten so soon how passionate we were together?" She asked
He held her hand and stopped her movement, "I am sorry but there is no going back on my decision. Nothing you say would change my mind Miram. I don't care what consequences come out of this."
I wasn't one to talk too much. I believed more in actions than in words.
She angrily turned around and crossed her arms over her chest, "did you decide to take her because of the fact that I can't have cubs of my own?"
Aaron smirked, "trust me, that was the least of the reasons but now that you've mentioned it, it is by far the most concrete and tangible one. A reason that every werewolf in the council will relate to, don't you think?" He asked her callously.
She turned to face him, her face red with anger. She pointed her index to him, "If you think that I will let this go so easily and I will let you have your way with her, then you're mistaken," she paused, her jaws clenching,
"...my love." She added but venom laced her tone then she stormed out of the room.
Miram stood at the other side of the door, "it won't happen, never. Not while I am still alive." She thought.
Mia's eyes fluttered open and then closed shut again. Each time her eyes opened up, she could see only snippets of what played out in front of her. The silhouettes in front of her were blurry and looked funny in her eyes. Her head ached badly and it felt like her stomach was on fire with the way it burned her. It felt tight as well and it felt as though floods of vomit were making their way from her throat to her mouth. She sat up abruptly and bent her head over what seemed to be a high bed frame as she wretched her bowels out. Floods of yellow poured from her mouth in the most disgusting manner, falling into whatever was placed underneath her mouth or perhaps it fell on the ground. But the splashing sound it made as all those horrible contents forced down her throat by Miriam hit the ground was a splurt sound, meaning that there were more of those horrible contents and she was probably releasing all that content into a bucket. She felt hands rub her back as she wretched further, her
"Are you sure of what you just told me?" Aaron asked Doraine.Justice was standing beside her. Beads of sweat had broken under his hair but he still stood still and continued to look calm and unfazed but feel down, a storm had taken its place within himShe groaned as she placed her hand over a seat that was placed in front of Aaron's table. His brows furrowed as he watched her with keen eyes like that of a predator keeping an eye on a prey. The Alchemist had told him she would have some strength to talk but die a few days and it had only been a few hours. Was he wrong about what he prescribed or perhaps it was going to kill her faster than they both expected? Doraine could die but certainly not in front of Aaron. That would only raise his suspicions. What was making the interrogation take so long for goddess' sake? He was growing impatient and time was running out."Yes, Alpha Aaron, I am sure. I had seen her use the tunnels as she tried to flee—" she paused and her breathing quicke
"What happened to her?" Aaron asked Justice, his voice was dangerously low, Justice had to thread carefully."Apparently, she's very sick at the moment to the point where she can't speak." He replied, his head bowed down in reverence. Aaron slammed his fist on the table in anger."That's not my problem. If you have to force the words from her lips then you'd better do just that." His eyes were red with fury and his mind was far from reasoning. All he wanted was for Justice to bring back Mia. Justice bowed his head in reverence, "I'll make sure to bring back good news about Mia's whereabouts." "I can feel it. She's alive and she's not very far away. Do all you can to bring her back." He ordered.Justice nodded in response and walked out of Aaron's study and headed for the infirmary where he had kept her so that she could recover. As soon as he opened the door, his eyes locked on Miram's. She was sitting very close to the bed where Doraine lay motionless."You tried to kill her, did
Their voices were hushed and only a single fire lit candle was the source of light in the dark room. "You have to stop." "Never!""Aaron will tear this entire pack to shreds trying to find her and we can't have him tracing it back to us." Justice was worried that Miram's rage was going to ruin everything they had both worked hard to build separately and in whatever ways they had worked to build it.Miram on the other hand was not going to back down. She had made up her mind and there was no going back from it.She looked at him squarely with unflinching intensity, her eyes wide and filled with rage and a determination that didn't want to be quenched by words of any sort. The coldness in her eyes, that glint that suggested that her heart had become hardened. He had seen it once before and when he did, somebody had to pay the price—in blood. That look was in her eyes as her eyes were locked on his in an unnerving way. A scowl had adorned her face and she was unyielding, "He can go a
"MIRAM!" Aaron barked as he barged into her room with a lot of force that threatened to force the door out of its hinges. His eyes flashed red with anger, his alpha instincts on high alert and his hand outstretched and reaching out to Miram's delicate neck as he circled his hand around it. He pushed her back and pinned her to the wall."Where. Is. She?" He yelled at her.Her hands clasped down on his which held her neck in place and was applying more force to it. Her face was slowly becoming as a result of the pressure he applied, and he didn't need to apply so much pressure. She was struggling so much and all the air in her lungs was being sucked out of her because of his actions."Let me. . . go," she strained. A vein had appeared in the middle of her forehead. "Where did you hide her? I know it was you. There's no one else who would have such a motive to do something to Mia." Aaron was static in his accusations. She hit his hand with so much force and was throwing a lot of tant
Chapter 35.Mia's eye fluttered open slowly. Her head ached so much that it felt like it was going to roll off her head. She didn't think she was even going to be alive after that blow to her head. It felt as though her skull had cracked open. She felt as blood trickled down the side of her face and her vision was blurred. Her hand slowly crept up the left side of her head and when she brought it back down to her face, she could see the stains of blood on her fingers but her fingers weren't so clear. She shook her head to try to snap herself out of the dizziness that threatened to swallow her but it only made more blood pour out of her head and it only made a severe ache pass through her head. She shut her eyes to try to bear the pain in her head that was slowly spreading to other parts of her body. She felt the ground, Hard, cold, damp.It felt like she was in a dungeon. The fact that it was dark only made it hard for her to figure out where exactly she was.She groaned as she tried
