~~Reece's POV~~

This is great. This is just great. I finally found my mate and she has no idea what she even is.

I'm pacing around the terrace outside of my room waiting for my mom and dad to get back home from the party they went out for a few hours ago.

I grab my phone from my pocket and message my best friend Aaron, the Alpha's son.

Me : I found her.

Aaron : Who is "her"?

Me : My mate. There's a new girl at our school.

Aaron : Damn, I'm so happy for you man! Want me to come over so we can celebrate?

Me : She doesn't know.

Aaron : Huh? She doesn't know what?

I hear the sound of the gate opening and a car pulls into the driveway.

Me : I'll tell you about it tomorrow. Gotta talk to my parents.

Aaron : Okay man.

I step out of my room and race downstairs to tell my mom and dad about the good/bad news.

"Mom, dad. Good evening.." I say offering them light hugs.

"I didn't expect you to wait up for us son.." My dad says taking off his coat.

"Mom, dad, I found my mate today..." My mom spins her head around and starts jumping and clapping her hands in excitement.

When I turned 18 last year, my dad, the current beta of our pack organized a massive party. He invited all the members of our pack and even some important members of neighbouring packs to celebrate the fact that I had now come of age to be able to take over him when he steps down as beta.

But everyone knew the real purpose of the party, it was so I could find my mate.

When a werewolf turns 18, their wolf gene is activated and their wolf comes to them at the stroke of midnight. Only when your wolf comes to you can you feel the presence of your mate and the fact that I had just turned 18 meant I would be able to sense her if she was nearby.

There were so many girls present that night, everyone expected me to find a mate. But I didn't..

She was nowhere to be found and I almost started to think she didn't even exist. But now she just popped up out of nowhere. Where did she even come from and how or why the fuck doesn't she know she's a wolf.

"Oh honey, finally.. You finally found her! Oh you must invite her and her family here at once. You have to mark her and this is just wonderful news dear.. " My mom says frantically, jumping up and down like a teenage girl.

"Son, this is great news. I'm happy for you. When do we get to meet the young wolf?" My dad asks with a proud look on his face.

"Um, there's a problem.. She doesn't know." I tell them with a strained voice.

"She doesn't know what? What are you talking about?" My mom asks, confused.

"She's a new girl at our school. She doesn't know she's a wolf mom. She was so lost when I walked up to her and called her my mate. Plus she's 17, she hasn't gotten her wolf yet." I explain to them.

"Wait, wait, slow down Reece. She doesn't know she's a wolf??" My mom asks again even more confused.

"Yes mom, I'm sure of it. She really has no idea." I tell them.

"How is that even possible?" My dad asks furrowing his brows.

"I don't know, but my guess is, she doesn't live with her real parents. If she did, she would know about her being a wolf. And if she doesn't know she's a wolf, it means her parents don't know either. I don't know what to do dad.." I tell him pacing the room.

I've always wanted to find my mate. I've never even been in a relationship before because I've been waiting to find her.

I mean I certainly have had one night stands here and there but I refuse to give my heart to anyone other than my mate. I was so happy when I got her scent back at school. I felt the sparks that my parents told me about so many times.

My wolf stirred up inside me with joy and I felt tingles all over my body. When I set my eyes on her, it felt like we were the only two people in the world. God, she's so beautiful.

Where did she come from? Why haven't I seen her around before?

"We need to get to her before she turns 18. The poor thing will be so confused when she hears her wolf's voice in her head for the first time. She'll even be more confused when she shifts for the first time." My mom says holding her hands to her chest in worry.

"Find her Reece. Find a way to talk to her about this. Find a way to bring her here so we all can talk to her. She needs to know what is about to happen to her." My dad says and I nod.

I head up to my room and fall to my back in bed, a wide grin on my face. So this is what finding your mate feels like.

'We finally found her Reece. Did you see how beautiful she looked? We have to mark her!' My wolf Canis says to me.

'She's beautiful indeed Canis. But slow down, we can't mark her just yet. We have to get her to trust us first.' I tell him.

'What is a wolf doing with a human family anyways?' Canis asks.

'I have no idea.' I answer.

I grab my phone and text Aaron letting him know about the situation before I meet him in school tomorrow.

Aaron and I have been friends for the entirety of our lives. We've been inseparable since we were kids up until now.

Aaron : That's messed up man. See you in school tomorrow. We'll find a solution.

Me : Yeah sure.. See you.

I fall asleep with images of my mate intruding my mind. Her face.... I can't get over how perfect she is.

    "You guys ready?" Reece asks Tony, Lexi and I as we stand in the parking lot and we all nod. "Tony and Lexi, you guys ride with Aaron. Morgana is riding with me.." He catches me looking and a smile appears on his lips. "It's rude to stare." He says and I roll my eyes looking away from him. Reece is really handsome. He's gorgeous even.. He has perfect hair, and perfect brown eyes, and a perfect height and a perfect body and...What am I doing checking him out anyways? He starts the car and pulls out of the parking lot.
