A Drink

"Tilt your face towards the sun a bit Morgana.." Tony says and I obey, angling my face towards the light.

Tony asked to take some pictures of me for an art exhibit he is working on and well, I said yes. It's not like I have anything better to do anyways.

"Should we be doing this during lunch time. Don't you want to take pictures outside? In the sky? With nature?" I ask him with a raise of my brows.

"Yeah yeah, we'll definitely take pictures of you outside. I'm just taking these ones now cause I can't get over how amazing your features are. I could photograph you all day.." Tony says to me with a grin on his face.

"You're scaring her Tony.." Lexi says and I chuckle at her.

"This is like..the second time you're eating just apples for lunch." Tony says with a confused expression.

"Yeah, my mom always makes me a heavy breakfast before school so I generally don't get hungry until around 2pm. I only eat lunch in school on days where I don't eat breakfast at home." I tell him.

"Oh that makes sense. As opposed to me who is hungry every hour.." Tony says with a smile.

"Fat ass.." Lexi teases him.

"Pig.." Tony replies as a comeback.

"Good morning.." I hear a deep voice from behind me and I spin my head around meeting eyes with two gorgeous faces.

One of them is Reece, the crazy boy from yesterday and the other I've never met before.

"Mind if we sit..?" Reece asks and Lexi and Tony just nod their heads aggressively.

Reece gets into the empty seat next to me and the other guy sits beside Lexi and Tony. Are they friends with Lexi?

"Hi.." Reece says and the other guy is just sitting there like a statue. He's even more intimidating than Reece.

Um what is going on?

"Hi…" Lexi, Tony and I say in unison, bowing their heads again like they're scared of making eye contact with the two boys.

"I'm Reece.." He says to me holding out his hand. I reluctantly grab his hand and give him a handshake.

"I'm Aaron.." His other friend says with an almost unnoticeable smile.

"I'm Morgana.." I tell them both with a blank look.

"I um, wanted to apologise for yesterday. I must have scared you. I'm sorry.." Reece says nervously.

"Yeah, you did." I say to him and we make eye contact for a few seconds.

"Let me take you out for a drink later.. to apologise." He asks.

"You don't have to, it's okay." I tell him which makes him frown a little.

"I insist." He says, this time a little bit more demanding and I feel an urge to oblige with him again. What is that about?

"Um, okay sure. After school." I accept his offer and he offers me a smile.

After a few seconds of awkward silence, Reece and his friend whose name I remember to be Aaron stand up and leave.

Lexi and Tony look really nervous now and I think they're even sweating. They must feel really intimidated by those two.

"Are you two scared of him or something?" I ask them with a raise of my brow.

"Huh? What- why would you think that?" Lexi asks nervously.

"Um, I don't know. Maybe because this is the second time you both are acting like a bunch of scaredy cats around him. What's up with that?" I ask them with a curious raise of my brow.

"We're not scared of him.." Tony reassures me and continues taking pictures of my face.

They're acting pretty weird.

Did I just agree to go out with the weirdest guy I've ever met? Ugh, I tilt my head back and scream at myself mentally. I should have said No, I have a boyfriend and this feels inappropriate.

But it's just a drink, he wants to apologise. So I guess it's nothing.

"My 18th birthday is this Saturday.. I don't know, since I just moved here and I don't really have any friends. I thought you guys would want to spend it with me.. We can like, go watch a movie or something.." I tell them and raise my head to look at them.

But they're staring at me like they've just seen a ghost. "Your 18th birthday is this weekend??" Lexi asks, her eyes growing wide with an unreadable expression.

"Um yeah.." I answer and glance over to Tony who is giving me the same weird expression as Lexi. "Are you guys okay?" I ask in a whisper.

"Yeah, yeah we're fine." They say to each other and share a look amongst themselves. What is wrong with everyone today? This school is so weird.

"So you're going out on a date with pretty boy huh?" Lexi asks with a smirk trying to distract me from their weird behaviour.

"It's not a date. He just wants to apologise properly I guess. Besides I have a boyfriend..." I tell her simply.

"What??!?" She asks a little bit too loudly almost choking on her lunch. "When were you going to tell us?!"

"Um, I didn't think it was that big of a deal.." I say with a raise of my brow.

"Of course it is! Who is it?? Does he go to our school?" Tony asks.

"Um, he's back at Castings.." I tell them.

"Oh.." Lexi says and offers Tony another secret look. Why do they keep doing that like I'm not right in front of them?

*********************************

School is over for the day and we're in the parking lot now. Lexi and Tony wave me goodbye while Reece and his friend Aaron walk over to where I'm standing.

It's a good thing mom doesn't pick me up from school. She only drops me off in the mornings.

"Hey.." Reece says offering me a warm smile.

"Hi.." I say glancing from him to Aaron and from Aaron to him.

"If it's okay with you, can you get into my car? There's a spot just a few metres away from school and they make the best milkshakes.." Reece says to me and I just nod my head.

I follow him and Aaron to where his car is parked and he opens the door, urging me to get in. I probably shouldn't be getting into cars with two random guys I just met and know nothing about but i don't feel like they want to hurt me. This is all so weird if you ask me, but the only reason i agreed to this is because I'm bored and intrigued.

"I have so much to tell you, I don't even know where to begin.." Reece says.

Huh? What is he talking about now?
