Thoughts
I walk into the house and my mom and dad basically bolt towards the door and hug me in unison.
"Honey, where were you?? Are you okay? Did something happen?" My mom asks, fear and worry in here eyes."Where were you Morgana? You had us worried sick about you!" My dad says."I sent you a text mom. I told you I'd be a little bit late today.." I tell her"Yes but that doesn't keep me from worrying. You gave no context whatsoever, plus we're in a new town. We don't know if it's safe to be out this late honey.." My mom says, concern in her words."I'm sorry. I was at my friend's house. Studying for a quiz we have tomorrow. I kind of lost track of time." I lie.They give me weird looks probably not believing a word. I've never lied to my parents before but Reece and his family think it's best if they don't know anything about all of what they told me. "Yeah yesterday was pretty intense..." I tell Lexi and Tony as we sit around on the lunch table. "Sorry we didn't tell you anything." Lexi says with an apologetic smile. "It's okay. Reece told me he made you guys shut up about it." I say"Yeah we kind of figured it out when you said he called you his mate.." Tony says. Reece pulls up in front of a tiny cute shop that reads "Pop's". "Pops'?" I say to him with a smile raising my brows. "Yeah. It's owned by an old man who is a member of the pack. Reece and I exchanged numbers after he dropped me home from Pops' yesterday and for some reason I've been expecting him to message me. He hasn't though, at least not yet. I put on my soft Peter rabbit flip flops and walk over to my window to watch the sunset. The sight of the sun setting gives the sky a sort of reddish orange look and it makes me think about Charles. With all that has happened since I learnt about my true nature, I don't know what will become of Charles and I. Lexi and Tony won't shut up about this whole mate bond thing and it's driving me nuts. It all sounds like a fairy tale to me. My phone buzzes and I reach for it to check the notification. Reece. A small smile appears at the corner of my lips. Reece : Your birthday is after tomorrow.
