CHAPTER 21

DAX’S POV

The elevator stopped when we got to our destination and I watched the doors slide open before I walked out right after the secretary who led the way but with her head bowed as she avoided my gaze and I was glad that I got her to stop running her mouth and not try to get my attention.

We were about to take the next turn when a familiar voice called my name and I stopped in my tracks, surprised that he was also in Denmark and in the same company that was pitching for a partnership with my company at the same time.

Turning around to face him with a face void of any emotion, Dennis smiled at me, probably to piss me off but I felt nothing but indifference because he was that irrelevant to me.

Looking at him, I couldn’t help but wonder what made me make him a friend of mine years ago because it all turned out to be a waste of time since he was never of help to me.

“Surprised to see me, Dax?” he asked and I tucked my hands into my pockets before staring him down.
