MILENA'S POV

“Here” I whispered, my voice soft as I placed the plate of waffles on the bedside table, reaching out to brush a stray strand of hair over Theo's trembling frame under the sheets.

He looked so frail that my heart ached and I was reminded of my prioritiesㅡ Him.

He slowly turned to look at the food then back at me, his bottom lip wobbling as he looked around. He had been awake for an hour now but he seemed so disoriented and didn't want to talk but it was no cause for alarm so I figured to wait for the doctor to be here in a few hours as I was told that he would be out of it for a while even when he regained consciousness.

“Whereㅡ Where are we?” He looked worried now as he tried to push himself up to sit.

“No, baby” I chided him, leaning him back against the sheets easily. “Just lay down, okay? You can talk to me while you're resting”

He obeyed without asking another question but I could see the obvious question in his eyes and his next words confirmed my fears.

  • MR CEO, I DON'T WANT YOU BACK   THE WAY TO THE HEART OF A MOTHER

DAMIEN'S POV I just stood there sheepishly, my chin jutting out as I stared at her.Her words didn't register at first until a minute and I could only gawk at her after that. What did she mean by that?I wasn't dumbㅡ I knew what that meant but it just felt too sudden. Maybe she was mad about sienna barging into the house? That was probably the reason.“Can we talk about this, Milena?” I asked, my voice soft and trembling. She didn't waver. Her jaw was locked and tight and for the flash of a second, I saw an emotion I wasn't all too familiar with in her soft eyesㅡ Jealousy. Was it jealousy? Whatever it was, it was gone in a second as she blinked and looked away as though she knew that I could see her emotions that she had laid bare in a single gaze a moment ago.“Just… don't do something like that again. Let him depend on his mother” She muttered, taking a step back as her hands rested on her waist. My hands raised up in silent surrender and I tilted my head to the side. “As you wish”

  • MR CEO, I DON'T WANT YOU BACK   JEALOUSY IS A BITCH

MILENA’S POVAs soon as the door shut behind me, I leaned against it, feeling my pulse race beneath my skin.Oh fuck.It had been years. And of all the ways I had imagined meeting my sister—my ex-sister, if that could even be a word—this wasn’t it.I had planned speeches in my head for years. Words that would cut deep and put her in her place. Monologues about betrayal, about how she had stolen everything from me. I had wanted to see her broken, to finally reclaim my dignity after all these years. But the moment our gazes locked, all of that dissipated. She hadn’t changed. Still the same sharp-mouthed bitch who thrived on my misery.I should feel victorious. I should be savoring the look on her face when I told her to leave, the silence that followed when I mentioned Theo. But I didn’t.Because it didn’t feel like a win.It felt awkward because something told me that she would be back. She seemed hell-bent on getting Damien and if he wasn't going to do something about his past or what

  • MR CEO, I DON'T WANT YOU BACK   WORDS THAT STING

DAMIEN’S POV“Seriously?! We break up for a few months and you’re going back to my pathetic sister?!” Sienna’s voice cut through the quiet like a thunderbolt. The second I cracked the door open, she shoved her way past me with a fury that rattled the picture frames on the wall so much that I thought they would fall and shatter. Before I could stop her from going any further, the sting of her palm exploded across my cheek. My head snapped to the side by the force of her slap.I stood there for a second, stunned, jaw tightening as I slowly straightened and met her blazing brown eyes. She was shaking, her perfectly manicured nails gripping her phone so tightly her knuckles had gone white. “How could you?!” she shrieked, her face was etched with betrayal. “After everything—after me—you bring her back into this house?!”Fuck this.I rubbed the ache in my jaw, gritting my teeth. “First of all,” I muttered, my patience already hanging by a thread and she was already acting fast to snap it, “

  • MR CEO, I DON'T WANT YOU BACK   BREAKFAST FOR THREE

DAMIEN'S POV Silence.I think I was already losing my mind with the way she just stared at me.Say something! Anything! Was she expecting to share the same room with Theo?“Lookㅡ” I began but she just wrapped her hands around herself.“I'll stay in here with my son” She didn't wait for me to finish speaking.Right. Of course she wanted to stay with Theo. Fuck, I was so stupid.Moving a step back, I nodded, trying to ignore the hollow ache in my chest from how she just rejected me. Not like I was expecting a different response from her anyways.“Yeah sure, good night, okay? And let me know if you need anything. I'm just right down the hall” I pointed to the room down the hallway and i could swear that I saw her eyes furrow, pulling together as she looked at the door.“That's not your room” She pointed out.Obviously.I gave a small smile. “I'm aware but it's just so I'm within reach, okay? Good night. We'll talk better in the morning, I know this is all very overwhelming to youㅡ” I wa

  • MR CEO, I DON'T WANT YOU BACK   WITH ME LIKE ALWAYS

MILENA'S POV Morning came and I was sitting in the waiting room, my eyes red for staying up all night and I could feel a hollow ache in my chest from everything that had happened the previous night.Damien was with the doctor inside the room and they had begun to start the tests and treatments and amidst my worry for Theo, I couldn't help but think about the fact that our marriage certificates was already being presented to the court already and would be finalized in less than an hour.It became clear to me. I couldn't do anything to him. At least not while I was tied to him but at least I would save my son.Once more, the door to the ICU was pulled open and Damien walked out looking like hell, his hair a tangled mess while he massaged his arm, the frown on his face wiping off once we locked gazes. The doctor was right behind him. “We're done with the first round and we've begun to give Mr Damien the necessary shots to boost stem cells which will be used in a few weeks and we're alre
