SKYLAR (MAE)

I wake up to the sound of banging on my door, "Who is that?" I curse under my breath sitting up and placing my hand to my chest.

The last thing I remembered last night after leaving his damn decoy house is my head spinning, a result of the after effect of what I drank.

It was a good thing I was able to find a cab and make it home on time to my bed, in a way the drink did come in handy because I slept like a baby and didn't even bother thinking about what had happened or to call the doctor to find out about my sister.

But now, with the banging on my door, I instantly remember.

My heart races as I throw off the sheets and rush to the door. A surge of adrenaline courses through my veins, pushing away the remnants of drowsiness. As I approach the door, I peek through the peephole, my eyes widening in shock.

Standing on my doorstep is my ex boyfriend, I fling open the door, my heart pounding in my chest. "What are you doing here?" I demand, my voice trembling with anger.
