Samuel opened the door to his apartment with heavy steps. He threw the car keys onto the table by the door, then flopped onto the sofa with a tired face and sad eyes. The suit still clinging to his body was left unattended, while his mind was still busy replaying the events in front of Rebecca's apartment earlier.

A few minutes later, Nora entered with a tray containing a cup of hot tea. She approached, sat down slowly beside Samuel, then placed the tea on the table in front of them.

"Have a drink. Your face looks sad," Nora said quietly, trying to hide the worried tone in her voice.

Samuel gave her a quick glance, then picked up the teacup and took a small sip.

"Thank you for the tea," he said simply.

Nora looked at him, then asked carefully. "What's wrong, Samuel? You're not usually like this."

Samuel was quiet for a moment, staring blankly at the floor. Then he let out a long sigh.

"Rebecca..." he murmured at last.

Nora raised an eyebrow. "What happened to her?"

Rebecca knocked lightly on the bedroom door before entering. In her hand, a set of casual clothes-a white t-shirt and gray training pants that she had just bought last night through an online shop. She placed them on the bed and looked at Samuel who was still in the bathroom. "Put these on. The size should fit," Rebecca said without turning her head, trying to sound calm. In less than a minute, Samuel came out of the bathroom, wearing only a towel around his waist. Rebecca hurriedly looked away, her cheeks heating up. "Then I-" But before her sentence was finished, Samuel had already stepped quickly. He pulled Rebecca's hand and immediately hugged the woman from behind. "Let go of me, Mr. Samuel," Rebecca said softly but firmly. Samuel did not answer. He just hugged her tighter. Rebecca could feel the man's heartbeat against her back. His embrace was so warm that Rebecca could hardly ignore it. "Mr. Samuel... I said let go-" And without a cue, Samuel turned Rebecca's

The morning light broke through the curtains, shining softly on the bed that was now empty on one side. Samuel sat on the bed, clad only in his underwear, his hands running through his messy hair as he blinked. His head was still heavy. Rebecca had just come out of the bathroom, now wearing a loose hoodie and long pants. Samuel looked at Rebecca from head to toe. "So... what happened last night?" he asked slowly. His voice sounded hoarse. "Did we (-) last night?" Rebecca looked away. Her heart was beating fast. "Mr. Samuel, don't worry. As long as nothing happens," she replied quickly, also trying to get rid of her nervousness in front of Samuel. Samuel frowned. "But my clothes? Why am I only wearing panties? Who took my clothes off?!" He pointed at himself. Rebecca looked away, pretending to be busy tidying the sheets. "Your clothes are full of vomit. You threw up last night. I took off your clothes so you wouldn't soil the bed." "So... you took off my clothes?" Sam

Rebecca looked down, staring at the ring on her ring finger. The finger should have been trembling with happiness, but instead she felt a tightness building up in her chest. In front of her, Liam was still kneeling, staring expectantly. "Liam..." Rebecca's voice trembled. Liam smiled a little. "Why are you crying? Are you unhappy?" Rebecca shook her head slowly, then looked at him deeply. "I'm sorry, I can't," she whispered softly. Liam was silent. His smile vanished, replaced by a confused and disappointed look. "What do you mean, Rebecca?" Rebecca shakily removed the ring. She took Liam's hand and slipped the ring back into the red velvet box. "Your mom and dad don't approve of our relationship. They don't accept me, let alone Reno. And I don't want you to have to choose between your family or me," Rebecca said, trying to be strong. "But I will fight for you!" Liam exclaimed. He got up and grasped both of Rebecca's hands. "I'll prove to them that you deserve to be

"Mommy doesn't believe anything your sister-in-law Sindy says!" replied Mrs. Wanna. "Yes, it seems like Rebecca is hiding something," continued Mr. Jimmy. "I'm also pretty sure that Rebecca's sister must be lying. In that case, we should go and see Brother Samuel," said Sindy. Wanna and Jimmy nodded their heads. The three of them got back into the car. They immediately rushed to Samuel's luxurious apartment. It didn't take long before they arrived at the apartment. "I don't believe it at all..." Sindy muttered as she closed the door to her brother's luxury apartment. "Can't believe that boy isn't Brother Samuel's son. Huh." Wanna sighed heavily, sitting on the sofa, her eyes glazed over. Jimmy stood by the window, staring at the city lights that were starting to come on. "Samuel!" Wanna called loudly. "Come here...!" Samuel came out of the room with

A fancy restaurant in the city center, ten minutes past seven in the evening. Rebecca is so beautiful tonight. She was wearing a white dress that Liam had picked out, while Reno looked dapper in a white shirt and black trousers. Beside him, Doctor Liam looked dashing in a light gray suit. The three of them walked in, greeted by a waiter who escorted them to the VIP table in the corner of the room. Two middle-aged, elegant-looking people-Professor Edward Zayden and Mrs. Ella Zayden-were waiting there. "Good evening, Daddy, Mommy," Liam said with a smile. Professor Edward only nodded briefly, while Mrs. Ella stood up and kissed her son's cheek gracefully. Liam then turned his body around. "Introducing, this is Rebecca, my future wife, and this is Reno, her son who I already consider like my son." Mrs. Ella's smile instantly disappeared. Her eyes looked Rebecca up and down, then stopped at Reno. Professor Edward, who was just about to pick up his wine glass, looked straight at Reb

"My mother's name..." Reno's voice trailed off softly, but before he could say his mother's name, the sound of hurried steps could be heard from inside the apartment. "Reno!" called Rebecca in a stern tone. The boy turned his head. "Mommy?" Rebecca pulled Reno quickly into her arms, her face pale, eyes still red. She gave Samuel a glance - a look that was so cold. "Susi!" Rebecca shouted inside. Soon, a woman emerged from the hallway inside the apartment. "Yes, Miss?" "Please take Reno to his room. Now." Reno looked at his mother, then at Samuel, then back at his mother. "Mommy, why, I just-" "Son, listen to Mommy. Go to your room first. Mommy promises to catch up soon." Reluctantly, Reno nodded. "Okay, Mommy." Susi took Reno's hand, and led the boy inside. There was an instant silence. Samuel looked at Rebecca questioningly. He took one step closer. "Rebecca, please tell me the truth. I just want to know who the father of the child is?" Rebecca chuckled, her jaw hardenin

Samuel immediately dragged Nora's arm with hurried steps down the stairs of Rebecca's apartment. His eyes were sharp, his jaw hardened with emotion. "Samuel, it hurts. Let go of me. Why are you being rude to me?" "Shut up, Nora!" he said coldly when Nora tried to speak. "But Samuel, my hand-" "I said shut up, Nora." His hand kept gripping Nora's arm, hard but without hurting her. Once in the parking lot, Samuel released his grip, then walked a few steps away, standing with his back to Nora. He looked down, taking a long, deep breath as if to swallow all the morning's chaos. There was a moment of silence. Then, slowly, Samuel turned around. His face looked tired, but his gaze was serious. He stepped slowly towards Nora, and touched her shoulder. "Nora," he said quietly but firmly. "We need to talk. It might hurt you." Nora looked up at her, still full of emotion. "What else? What are you trying to say?! Don't tell me you love him, it's obvious from the way you looked at him e

Six o'clock in the morning. In the 12th floor of the luxury apartment, the sound of running water from the bathroom was soft. Samuel was looking in the mirror behind the thin steam that filled the glass. His face was tired, his eyes looked sad. His cell phone on the bedside table suddenly rang. Nora, who was sitting on the bed, picked up the phone without thinking. The call was from Bani. "Good morning, Mr. Samuel. I'm sorry to disturb you, but I've found the address where Mrs. Rebecca lives," said the voice on the other side. Nora froze in her tracks. Her eyes widened. Her hands clenched tightly around the hem of her dress. "She lives in a small apartment in the South of the city. But I assure you, it is indeed Mrs. Rebecca. I've confirmed with the owner of the flower shop that-" Click. Without a word, Nora immediately cut the connection. Her hands were shaking. Her chest rumbled violently. "No, no, no. I won't let Rebecca and Samuel meet again." She stared angrily at Samu
