Rebecca came out with her hair still wet, droplets falling onto her shoulders. Her face looked fresh, and a small smile curved on her lips.

Samuel, who was still leaning on the sofa, immediately turned his head. His gaze softened. “Finished?” he asked quietly.

Rebecca nodded while drying her hair with a small towel. “Yes, my husband.”

Samuel smiled crookedly. “If I had known the result would be like this, I should’ve told you to shower earlier.”

Rebecca shot him a sharp glance but smiled. “There you go again, teasing.”

Samuel chuckled lightly, then sat up straighter. “I’m only giving a compliment, not teasing.”

Before Rebecca could reply, her phone started ringing. The distinct sound of a video call filled the quiet room. The name on the screen made her fall silent. It was from Aric.
