Eric’s POV

I anticipated this level of hostility. He's ready to defend his sister. "Adorable." Everything about this family exudes beauty and charm. "You can rest assured. As long as I'm alive, no one will harm your sister, not even me." He was surprised by my choice of words. I sensed he had faith in me.

"You'd better me. I may be young, but I won't hesitate to demonstrate how fiercely I can protect my sister," his words carried a warning. "And you have my promise," I asserted firmly.

It seemed the women had finished their conversation. It felt like an eternity. I was nervous and impatient; there were many 'what ifs' that terrified me. I had to confess, not having Phoebe by my side ranks second only to my fear of heights.

They approached us, whispering and giggling. I despise superhero movies, and I'm not particularly fond of movies in general, but for the first time, I wished I had the ability to eavesdrop, especially on Phoebe's conversations.
