CHAPTER 10

TAYLOR

After managing to find a bathroom, I rinsed my mouth and face there. Then I took some minutes to collect myself together before I made my way back to the room where Michael and Fernandez were and upon opening the door, I noticed that both Mr Thomas and Fernandez weren't there anymore.

I froze by the doorway as many thoughts began to run through my head. I was scared that they may have done something horrible to him and I slowly turned my head toward Michael only to see him furiously typing away on his phone with a scowl etched deeply onto his face.

Then he returned the phone into his pocket, pinched the bridge of his nose like he was stressed about something and as if he knew I was watching, he turned toward my direction too and a chill ran through my body when our eyes met.

    CHAPTER 98 TAYLOR The entire journey back home was quiet and the tension hanging in the air was killing me. I had no idea what to say to Michael after his reaction back in the hotel and I had one burning question on my mind until we reached the penthouse and went to our separate rooms… Did I say something wrong? It felt like we were back to square one. Back to the way things were when we were both so distant to each other and lacked basic communication skills. All I wished for was him to tell what bothered him so much about Carlos's dealings but I guess I touched a soft spot with my words and now, he wouldn't even look at me.
