Chapter five

It was morning the following day. Nora was brushing when her phone rang. She looked at the screen and saw it was Williams. Her heart started beating. It's time; what can his request ever be, she wondered as she picked up the call.

"Hi," she said slowly.

"Meet me at New View restaurant in thirty minutes," he only said one sentence and cut the call. She looked at her phone dully before putting it away and continued brushing her teeth.

A few minutes later, she was ready and flagged down a cab.

"Take me to New View Hotel," she said to the cab man. The cab man nodded. Twenty minutes later, they reached the hotel. She paid for the cab and started heading inside the hotel.

"Excuse me, miss," A man in a black suit stopped her in front of the hotel. "You are Miss Nora, right?"

"Yes," she replied.

"Mr. Williams sent me to pick you up; come this way." She nodded and followed him. They stopped at a private box, and the guard knocked cautiously. "Come in."

The guard opened the door, and Nora walked in; she saw Williams sitting majestically with a man wearing glasses by his side. There were a few stacks of documents on the table.

He gestured for her to sit, and she did so. "You must be wondering why I called you, and I'm sure you have already guessed it. You promised to my request last time, and now it's time to bring forth the request."

Her heart started beating faster. She looked at Williams carefully; he had a devilish smile on his face. He was staring at her like a predator.

"I want us to sign a contract marriage, and it will be for six months. In return, you don't have to pay the one million dollars, and also you will receive an additional two million dollars." He had a mischievous look while saying it.

"You only need to pretend that we are married. It's not hard, right?" He said, staring at her steadily.

"Why did you choose me for that? You have countless women who would have been glad to take up the role; why me?" She asked.

"Because it's you I want," his voice was cold and domineering. He shifted the documents closer to her. "Here is the contract; read carefully before signing."

Nora groaned. 'Does it matter if I read it or not?' she was thinking, but still, she opened the contract and started reading it. After some minutes, she raised her head to look at him.

"Why do we have to live in the same house and also share the same room?"

Williams appeared as if what she said was an alien language. "Of course, we are acting as husband and wife, so we have to make it real."

She nodded, but her face started blushing. "Okay, but don't get any other thoughts," she warned. He smiled at her coldly, "you are my woman, Nora," he said in a domineering fashion.

Nora shook her head slowly before signing the contract. Once she was done, she handed it over to him. Williams took the contract and gave it to the man beside him. "Process the documents," he said to him. The man nodded and left the private box.

Nora became serious. "Stop calling me your woman. I'm not your woman." Williams looked unperturbed.

"You are right; perhaps I should start calling you darling or wife, which one do you prefer?" He teased her. Nora was speechless; she decided not to talk to this person.

"Come on, let's have breakfast before going back now," he said, returning to his cold manner.

"Mr. Williams," she called.

"It's not Mr. Williams, it's hubby," he said sternly. Nora's face blushed at the thought of calling him that. She bit her lips. "Hubby, I don't want to have breakfast; I have to go to work now; I'm already late," she said while looking at his cold face.

He growled, "Fine, I will take you there myself after you have breakfast."

"No, you don't have to," she tried to argue. But he wouldn't hear any of it. At last, she had no choice and only hoped the director wouldn't be hard on her.

After breakfast, he drove her to Headway Entertainment Industry. He was driving a Bugatti; the workers looked at the car curiously. When they saw Nora alight from the car, they were surprised.

"So it's her, it seems like she has joined," one of the workers said. "Mind what you say," another cautioned her. Nora ignored all of them and started heading for her office.

Inside her office, she heaved a sigh. She brought out a file and opened it. She heard a knock on the door.

"Come in," she called to the person. The director walked in, wearing a furious expression.

"Why are you just coming now?" He questioned her immediately.

"I'm sorry; I got caught up in something," she apologized.

"Your apology is not accepted. You know very well that you have to act this morning, yet you dare not take it seriously and are coming by this time," he shouted.

"Director, I'm not that late; it's still one hour before the shoot." She replied. The director looked at her fuming; he had received a piece of very upsetting news this morning, and that's why he wasn't able to properly teach Nora a lesson as much as he would have wanted.

He had wanted to remove her from her role ever since the incident in the hotel. "In forty minutes, the shoot will start," he said before leaving her office.

Nora sighed; her manager walked in. "Nora, thank God you are here," the manager said with a huge smile on his face.

She only looked at him and nodded in acknowledgment. "Have you heard?" the manager said in a gossipy tone.

"Heard what?" She queried.

"Our company has changed ownership." Nora was shocked. "Are you kidding me? How is it possible? I never heard our company is up for sale, so why will it change ownership all of a sudden?

"I heard that a mysterious young master acquired it simply because he wants to entertain himself. His offer was so tempting that the owner couldn't refuse, and besides, I heard he has a very powerful background.

"A mysterious young master," Nora murmured, an image of a cold handsome man flashed in her mind.
