Holding my stance

Peter's voice was low and urgent as he beckoned me over to a secluded corner of the room. "There's something I need to discuss with you," he said, a flicker of anxiety crossing his face.

"What the hell is wrong with you, Mia?" His words were sharp and biting, his charming demeanor replaced by an intense glare. His eyes were flashing with anger, and I could feel the tension rising in the room.

I took a deep breath, trying to gather my thoughts. How could I explain to Peter that Ryan was my step-uncle and that we had a complicated history? Would he even understand?
