Chapter 34: I Won't Give Up

After hearing Winchester’s response, Christy thought for a moment before saying, “I think you should wait until you speak with my parents about the marriage before telling Franklin.”

Winchester considered her suggestion and agreed. “I’ll listen to you,” he said.

No sooner had Christy ended the call than her phone rang again. Seeing it was her manager, she answered immediately.

“Christy, you can report to work tomorrow. Your suspension has been lifted,” her manager said through the speaker.

Christy exhaled in relief; she’d been worried about Franklin showing up at her house and causing trouble every day. “Thank you very much, sir. I’ll be there first thing tomorrow,” she replied, waiting for him to hang up before setting the phone down. She went to the kitchen to make dinner, prepared for the next day, and set an alarm before going to bed.
