Chapter 52

Both Kirklin and Alexandra looked up to see who violently opened the door and it was the HR Director. Kirklin was very angry with her and he immediately ordered "Get out". He instantly called the Chief External Auditor on phone to arrange for her immediate termination without benefits.

As soon as Alexandra heard he was going to lay her off, he pleaded with him to allow her to collect an item from her first. For the first time since they met again, she looked at his face as she made her request, and memories of their past unfolded in her eyes which were immediately filled with tears.

Kirklin was never comfortable seeing her cry so he got up and sat on the table in front of her. He used his hands to wipe her tears. As soon as he did that, it was as if her stored-up tears of over a year just gave way and she started to sob uncontrollably. Her shoulders shook so much as she bawled heavily.
