Camilla.

The heavy thud of Grandfather’s cane against the marble floor echoed like a war drum, shattering the tense silence of the foyer.

"I don't want that woman anywhere near my house," Grandfather repeated, his voice vibrating with the raw, ancient authority of a true Alpha King.

Beside Ragnar, Pamela let out a sharp, theatrical gasp. She immediately cowered, ducking behind Ragnar’s broad shoulders and wrapping her arms tightly around his waist.

"Ragnar, I'm scared," she whimpered, her sweet, fragile voice trembling with calculated terror. "Why is Lord Eric speaking to me like that? I haven't done anything wrong..."

Ragnar’s face flushed a deep, furious crimson. His chest heaved as he shifted his stance, shielding Pamela completely from Grandfather’s piercing golden gaze.

"That is enough, Grandfather!" Ragnar roared, his posture rigid with indignation. "You have no right to speak to Pamela like she is a criminal! She is the victim here! She almost lost her life today because of the pathetic, murderous creature you are so eagerly protecting!"

I stood by the parlor archway, the wool blanket clutched tightly over my chest, remaining utterly silent. Every harsh word Ragnar threw in my direction felt like a dull blade scraping against raw flesh, but I forced myself not to react. I watched him blindly defend the viper clinging to his back, completely oblivious to her deception.

Ragnar suddenly pointed a harsh, accusing finger straight at me, the gesture sharp and unmistakably hostile. His entire expression twisted with anger as his storm-gray eyes burned with pure venom, his gaze fixed on me with an intensity that made every word he was about to utter feel like another deliberate attack.

“She is deceiving you!” he spat, his voice filled with bitter conviction.

He didn't even look away from me as he spoke, his accusing finger remaining firmly pointed in my direction.

“Look at her, Grandfather! She’s playing the silent, helpless victim, just like she always does.”

His lips curled slightly with contempt as he continued, his tone growing increasingly harsh.

He paused briefly, drawing in a breath before delivering his next accusation with even greater certainty.

“She ran to you because she knows she’s a snake! She knew she couldn't manipulate me anymore, so she came here to manipulate you!” he added firmly.

Each word dripped with accusation, his voice carrying the absolute certainty of someone who had already decided exactly what he believed about me.

He shook his head slightly, his expression remaining cold and unforgiving.

“She’s trying to use your pity to force her way back into my bed and my pack!”

The words hung heavily in the air, his accusation ringing with unmistakable hostility.

“Ragnar, hold your tongue—” Grandfather began.

His voice was dangerous and low, cutting into Ragnar's tirade with a quiet authority that immediately signaled his displeasure.

“No!” Ragnar interrupted sharply, cutting Grandfather off before he could finish.

He stepped closer, dragging Pamela along with him as though he were fighting some heroic war for her honor and had already convinced himself that he was the only one willing to expose the truth. His storm-gray eyes remained fixed on me, blazing with anger and accusation as his voice rose with every word.

“I will not hold my tongue!” he declared fiercely, refusing to be silenced or restrained. “She is the real snake in this family!”

His finger pointed accusingly in my direction again, his expression hardening with every accusation.

“She engineered the crash! She cut the lines, drove the car off the road, and tried to murder her own sister out of sheer, disgusting jealousy because she knew I never loved her!” His voice dripped with absolute contempt. “She is a liar, a murderer, and a—”

CRACK!

The sound tore through the vast hall like a lightning strike.

Grandfather had closed the distance in a blind blur of ancient speed, bringing his palm across Ragnar’s face with violent, unrelenting force. The sheer impact snapped Ragnar’s head to the side, cutting off his fiery tirade instantly.

Pamela let out a terrified shriek, stumbling backward, her delicate act dropping for a fraction of a second in sheer shock.

Ragnar froze. A thick, suffocating silence descended over the foyer. For a moment, my ex-husband simply stood there, his jaw clenched so tight the muscles twitched, his gray eyes wide with disbelief as he slowly raised a hand to touch his own reddening cheek.

No one had laid a hand on Alpha King Ragnar since he had taken the crown.

A dark, terrifying energy flared around Ragnar. His eyes bled from storm-gray to a lethal, primal crimson. The air in the room grew impossibly heavy, suffocating, as his pride, his rage, and his fractured ego imploded all at once.

He didn't hit Grandfather back. He couldn't—the instinctual reverence for the former King was too deeply ingrained.

Instead, his wild, blood-red eyes whipped toward me.

"This is your fault!" he snorted, losing every shred of his royal composure.

In a single, violent stride, Ragnar bypassed Grandfather entirely and lunged at me. Before I could even raise my hands to protect my face—or the fragile life inside my womb—his hand flew forward.

SMACK!

The force of the strike was devastating. My head snapped violently to the left, a sharp, white-hot explosion of pain bursting across my cheek.

The sheer power behind an Alpha's blow tore the blanket from my grasp and sent me flying sideways. My body hit the hard marble floor with a sickening thud, a sharp gasping cry tearing from my throat as I curled tightly into a ball to shield my stomach.

The taste of metallic copper instantly flooded my mouth.

Grandfather gasped, standing frozen in utter, paralyzed shock. He stared at his grandson, his face draining of all color, unable to fathom that the reigning Alpha King had just brutally struck a defenseless, injured woman right in front of him.

I lay on the cold floor, clutching my face, my vision swimming with tears of pain and shock.

Above the ringing in my ears, a dark, velvet baritone boomed from the top of the grand staircase, cold enough to freeze the blood in my veins.

"How dare you!”

Ragnar.I turned my back on Pamela, pacing heavy-footed toward the tall arched window at the far end of the bedchamber. I reached out, grabbing the edge of the heavy wooden sill and gripping it until my knuckles turned stark white under the pale moonlight. I stared out into the dark, boundless night, my chest rising and falling violently as I tried to regain control of my own heart. The rapid thudding in my ribs echoed like war drums in my ears, mocking the supreme composure I was supposed to embody as Alpha King."Ragnar... please tell me what's wrong," Pamela whimpered behind me, her tone cautious, hesitant, and utterly terrified of setting off another burst of explosive anger. "You're…. I really don't know what to call it, but did something happen?" She paused, the quiet rustle of her towel filling the silence as she took a small, uncertain breath. “Is anything wrong?""Nothing is wrong," I growled out, forcing my voice to flatten into an icy wall, though my chest was still burnin

  • MY EX ALPHA HUSBAND REGRET   25. All I SEE IS HER!

Ragnar. The heavy, carved oak door of my master bedroom was locked, keeping the rest of the world and its mounting chaotic demands outside.I sat back in the deep leather armchair near the window, the soft light of the bedside lamp casting long shadows across the room. I held a heavy crystal tumbler in my right hand, swirling the amber whiskey slowly. The ice cubes clinked softly against the glass, a rhythmic, rhythmic sound that did very little to quiet the roaring storm inside my chest. I took a deep, heavy gulp, feeling the sharp burn slide down my throat, but the alcohol failed to numb the tension thrumming through my veins. The bathroom door opened with a soft click, releasing a cloud of warm, lavender-scented steam into the bedroom.Pamela stepped out, her damp hair falling loosely over her shoulders, a plush white towel wrapped snugly around her chest, securing just above her bust. She paused in the doorway, biting her lower lip nervously as she looked over at me, her cheeks sl

CamillaThe heavy wooden doors remained firmly shut, keeping the stone corridor quiet, but the low, calm voice coming through the phone's speaker felt like a ghost breaking through from another life entirely."Speak," the voice said, sharp and guarded.I swallowed the lump in my throat, holding the encrypted phone tighter against my ear. "It's Camilla," I whispered, my voice firm despite the rapid pounding of my heart. A sudden, sharp gasp cut through the static on the line."Camilla?!"Martins’ voice instantly lost its calm, professional edge, cracking with pure, unadulterated shock. I could hear the rustle of papers on his end, followed by the heavy thud of a chair scraping back against a floor as he stood up in disbelief."Is that really you?" Martins demanded, his breathing suddenly shallow and fast. "Camilla, where are you right now? Are you okay? Tell me you're not still in that monster's castle!"Hearing his voice after three whole years sent a sharp wave of nostalgia hitting

Camilla. The heavy wooden doors clicked shut, and the soft, rhythmic echo of Cassian’s heavy boots gradually faded down the long stone corridor. The moment I was truly alone, the cold air rushed back into my lungs. I collapsed deeper into the plush leather armchair, letting out a long, shuddering sigh of pure, unfiltered relief. My entire body unspooled, the unbearable tension that had locked my shoulders high since the Council session evaporating into the quiet warmth of the lounge. He hadn't pushed. Cassian had seen the sheer panic in my eyes, felt the trembling in my hands, and instead of backing me into a corner like Ragnar always did, he had gracefully offered me an exit. He had swallowed his own dark suspicions, given me room to breathe, and walked away without demanding a single piece of my soul in return.I set the steaming porcelain teacup on the small side table, my fingers still faintly shaking.Slowly, deliberately, I brought both palms down to rest flat against my lower a

Cassain. The room was so quiet I could hear the faint, steady cadence of her breathing. She sat nestled in the deep leather armchair, her small frame looking almost delicate against the dark leather, but her posture still carrying that quiet, stubborn resilience I had come to admire. My palm was resting flat against hers, feeling the subtle tremor in her fingers, covering the small hand she had so instinctively pressed against her abdomen just moments ago.I kept my eyes fixed on her face, searching her features in the soft light of the lounge.I was waiting. Patiently, steadily, giving her every second she needed to speak. The air between us was thick with a truth hanging by a thread, a revelation sitting right on the tip of her tongue. I could see the conflict raging behind her dark eyes—the hesitation, the sudden flicker of fear, the protective wall she had built over three grueling years with Ragnar trying to pull itself back up.She opened her mouth slightly, her throat working a

Ragnar. The grand doors of the royal estate slammed shut with a thunderous crack that shook the stained-glass windows of the entry hall.I tore my heavy velvet cloak off my shoulders and hurled it across the room. It struck a stone pillar and crumpled onto the polished floor. My chest heaved, my breath coming in jagged, burning gasps as the white-hot rage that had been boiling inside me since the Council chamber finally erupted."Ragnar... please, slow down!" Pamela whimpered behind me, her voice trembling as she scurried into the foyer. She was still clutching her swollen cheek, her eyes wide with frantic, needy tears. "My face hurts so much... Cassian hit me, Ragnar! He struck your future Luna in front of everyone! You have to punish him! You have to—""Shut up, Pamela!" I roared, turning on her with a glare so lethal she instantly recoiled, her words dying in her throat. My Alpha aura flared violently, heavy and suffocating, flooding the hall with a pressure so intense that two gua
