I slowly slipped out of the room and made my way to the terrace. Upon reaching it, I found my place and settled down.

Even after hours of desperately trying to sleep, my thoughts wouldn’t quiet. Despite the weariness weighing down my body, I couldn’t drift off, not even for a moment.

The cold breeze of the fresh air was relaxing, but I forgot to bring a jacket so the cold air brushed against my skin.

I thought of retrieving my jacket from the room flickered in my mind, but the fear of disturbing Brianna held me back.

I hugged myself until I felt someone put a jacket on both of my shoulders.

When I looked up, I saw Harrison with a small smile on his lips.

“Do you want to walk around while we talk?” His grin widened. “Don’t make excuses you’re going back inside. I’ve been looking at you for a few minutes and even though you’re cold you still haven’t come back inside.”

I pressed my lips into a thin line, a barricade against the smile that tugged insistently at the corners
