After choosing and changing my clothes, I handed the red dress I picked out to the manager who assisted me at this higg-end boutique.
“I’ll take it. Make sure you wrap it properly.”
“Yes, Madam,” the staff answered courteously. “Would you require anything else while we prepare and pack your items?”
“Nah.
VERONICA’S POV đ-After choosing and changing my clothes, I handed the red dress I picked out to the manager who assisted me at this higg-end boutique.“I’ll take it. Make sure you wrap it properly.”“Yes, Madam,” the staff answered courteously. “Would you require anything else while we prepare and pack your items?”“Nah.” I just replied and left her then sat down.“Are you sure this is just a dinner date you’re preparing? It’s like you’re preparing for a wedding.” Rowena said jokingly and teasingly.“Shut up.” I said a little annoyed, remembering how Calix and I got married back then. I didn’t even wear a white dress that day. Thank goodness I was born beautiful, that’s why I still manage to look okay every day
CALIX’S POV đ-“I immediately booked a flight when my secretary told me you wanted to meet with me, Mr. Calix. It’s an honor for you to invest in my company,” this old geezer remarked.“Invest?” I smiled mockingly. “Who ever suggested I’d put money into your company, and why on earth did your secretary say I was eager to meet you?”This old man was stunned. He looked at his secretary.“What I said was Mr. Calix plans to invest,” Francis, my secretary, corrected. “And what I said was Mr. Calix wants to speak with you. Just to speak, not to have a meeting.”That decrepit old man and his secretary, whom I knew to be his mistress, both turned to look at us—at me.“Mr. Scott, how can I invest in your company if you can’t understand su
NATHALIE'S POV đ-I don’t know how many minutes I’ve been staring at my phone.I’m having second thoughts whether I should send a message to Calix. In the end, I didn’t send a message to him.I stood up and started preparing lunch for Xander...After more than an hour, I had prepared lunch of Taco Salad and chicken milk soup with vegetables and carrots.I went to Xander in the living room and just in time I saw that he had just woken up.I sat down at her feet. “My little one, let’s have something to eat. You haven’t had anything since this morning.”“No. I’m not hungry.”“What do you want to eat? Mommy will cook for you, whatever you want to eat.”
NATHALIE'S POV đ–A long silence fell between Tyler and me again.I’m reflecting on the fact that he made a good point.I’m torn about whether to follow his suggestion.“Nathalie...”“Hmm?”“Are you still finding it hard to completely break away from your feelings for him? He doesn’t want to donate bone marrow, or even his blood. He’s been absent from your three lives for ages now... My daughter and Xander have no more need for him, especially you.”I wanted to open my mouth to answer his question with any words, but it seemed like my mouth had a life of its own that didn’t want to open.“I have to end our call, I’m needed in a meeting. Please keep me updated. Bye.&r
NATHALIE'S POV đ–More than three hours have passed since Xander talked to me like that and said those things to me.Even up to now, it feels like I was drenched in a huge amount of ice, leaving me completely stunned by the shock. He fell asleep hungry, with a heavy heart and an empty stomach.I’m sitting here in the kitchen in front of the dining table, and I can see the living room from where I am. I’ll be able to see Xander instantly if he wakes up and gets out of the sofa.My attention went to my phone the moment it sounded.I answered the call right away when I saw Tyler on the screen.“Did you hear that?” Tyler beamed as I answered his call.“Which one?” I asked curiously.“When Brianna mentioned daddy? She tried to call me daddy earlier, but why you suddenly hung up.”“That?”A weight wa
NATHALIE'S POV đ–I ended the call fast and turned instantly to Xander and Calix.Calix is carrying Xander in his arms.I was so thrilled to hear from my child and so used to answering Tyler’s calls right away that Calix completely slipped my mind.I approached the two of them and without saying a word, took my son from him.“What else are you doing here?” I said with emphasis, clearly mad. “I told you to leave, didn’t I?” I questioned in frustration.“Mommy,”I shifted my gaze to my son.“Is it okay if Uncle Z-yander stay-sh here firsh-t? He’d like to eat breakfast here. Pleeease, mommy?”“No, my little one.” I explained softly. “He still has a lot of work to do.” I tried to convince him.“Like dada? Does-h he have a lot of work?”“Yes, little on

SOFIA / NATHALIEâS POV đ-As I moved toward Calix, his face knitted with a frown as he gazed at me.âWhat do you need from me?â His voice is devoid of warmth, sharp and unfeeling. His voice: deep baritone, carrying a chill that might seem distant to others, but to me, itâs the sound Iâve been ye
NATHALIEâS POV đ-In the end, I figured Iâd take Brianna back to Sir Calix first.Beyond the dread of being imprisoned by them â that is whatâs correct.Surely everyone is worried about Briannaâs situation and condition. Moreover, they have no update about what is happening and who is with her.
