LOGINVERONICA’S POV š
-
As soon as I left the room, I saw Wallace. He was obviously surprised to see me. His eyes grew to the size of saucers as Harrison walked out of the hotel room.
“Veronica—” Harrison trailed off abruptly as he caught sight of Wallace right here, facing me.
I haven’t set foot here in ages, and it looks like I’m in a hotel that belongs to Wallace’s wife.

VERONICA’S POV š-I expected Beatrice wouldn’t be all right when I visited her, but I didn’t think she’d be in such a terrible state. Her hair was messy, she was sitting on the bed and seemed to be thinking far away or maybe she was thinking about what I had said to her.“Beatrice,” I called calmly. She looked truly wretched, like she was grieving a death. She turned to me. She stood up and came closer.Oh, gosh! What the h*ll!Her hair was oily. It looked like she hadn’t bathed in days. Well, she didn’t smell anything bad. Her eye bags were so dark and deep, and her lips were terribly dry. The powerful intimidating Beatrice Watson that who everyone looked up to, everyone is respected her, feared — I couldn’t believe my eyes, seeing her in such a

Stay away from me!” I screamed at them both before walking out.“What trouble have you caused this time?” I heard Wallace laugh as he asked Harrison...I went to Ethan and Beatrice’s mansion — to my in-law's mansion. The night I let Calix into the guest room, I voluntarily left this mansion for a while. VERONICAāS POV š-I packed my things.āVeronica, where are you going?āāTo my parents.āI hurried out of the restaurant, got straight into my car, and drove to that hellish house.āWhere are my parents?ā I asked the freaking maid who opened the door when I got there.āI donāt know, Maāam.āI felt my temper rise at the sheer idiocy of this servant.āGet out of my sight. Youāre useless!āāI-Iām sorry, Maāam,ā she apologized, then left in a panic.Where are my so-called āamazing parentsā? At the company?I was about to go outside when I saw my parents enter. I immediately approached them.āWhat did you do to my company?! Why is it going downhill? You said and assure me you would protect this company! I worked hard for it with my blood and sweat. When you asked me for this, I agreed because you said you would protect it!āMy father jabbed his finger at me in rage. āWhat can we possibly do? We stand no chance against your husband. Deal with him, talk to your husband.āI was stunned. āCal
VERONICAāS POV š-The next day I went straight to the rooftop.I rolled up the sleeves of my uniform.I didnāt cover the long cuts all over my wrist.I held the blade tightly, which made my palm bleed.Thereās nothing left to hide. Calix already knows what happened to me, he saw it all with his own eyes. I just know heāll look at me differently now, heāll hate what he saw. Heāll be disgusted by me. Heāll leave me.I pressed the blade firmly against my wrist. I smiled as I saw blood, then I slashed it.I wouldāve done this a long time ago, if Calix hadnāt shown up that day.In this place where I met someone who accepted me and didnāt judge me, I would end my life.I slashed my wrist again, harder, deeper, and I made sure there was a vein to hit.I drew in a shaky breath. The ache was overwhelming, stinging like fire. I couldnāt hold back my tears any longer. The pain was too sharp.I couldnāt feel my hand anymore, followed by my whole body. My eyelids were getting heavy.āVERONICA!ā
VERONICAāS POV š-Someone placed a lot of notebooks on my table.āSince youāre the one who still doing seatwork, you should hand them over to Teacher Ramirez.āI nodded in response.āSlut,ā my classmate muttered under her breath. But since there were only three of us here, I heard it clearly.I glared at my classmate who said slut, then her friend dragged her out.Lucky for her I was in a rush, otherwise Iād have stripped every last strand of hair from her head. If she were as beautiful as I am, her pathetic boyfriend would never have interested to me. Anyway, Iām already growing closer to Zander Calix Watson, I donāt need anyone else.As soon as I finished my classwork, I tidied up my stuff.I was about to leave when my phone rang. It was Calix.[āWhere are you?ā]āOn my way to the faculty. Iām just going to hand our seatwork.āWeāre going to Chloeās house so I can practice what kind of make-up look to do on her.Chloe and I were equally giddy. I was excited to finally use the pro
VERONICA’S POV š-I pressed lightly against his chest, signaling him to let me go. I stepped back two paces.I grinned turned to laughed. “Zander Calix Watson, likes me? Are you crazy? That’s bullsh*t Calix.”“I’m serious about what I said.”Little by little, I stopped laughing as I saw how seriously he was looking at me.I mirthless grin right after arranged the things I was going to use. “Sit down now.”I glanced over at him again. He’d sat down, yet his eyes remained locked on me, unwavering and serious.“If this is just some kind of game to you, please stop now, Calix,” following that I turned to face him again. “Lift your chin up a little.”He did as I said then started hiding the cuts and bruises on his face.“I’m glad I had a friend like you, as well as Harrison, Wallace

NATHALIEāS POV š-We got back to the cemetery around ten in the morning. Now that Iāve made sure of what I saw.For a moment I couldnāt feel my whole body, standing blankly as I looked at my own grave.Within the crematorium lies my very own plot -- my name etched, a vase holding the ashes... My
SOFIA / NATHALIEāS POV š-As I moved toward Calix, his face knitted with a frown as he gazed at me.āWhat do you need from me?ā His voice is devoid of warmth, sharp and unfeeling. His voice: deep baritone, carrying a chill that might seem distant to others, but to me, itās the sound Iāve been ye
NATHALIEāS POV š-āAre we going to move?ā I asked, to make sure I didnāt mishear or misinterpret things. āYou want us to move to a different place to live?āāYes, my dear.
