EZRA……
“How am I looking, Ezra?” Raya asked me with a bright smile on her face. She was wearing a sea-green gown and her baby bump was showing. Her face was glowing with each day. “Gorgeous as always.” I placed a kiss on her forehead and she blushed sweetly. “You did a great job organizing the whole ceremony. It's our tradition to release lanterns in the night sky praying to the Moon Goddess bestowing us with peace and harmony.” She smiled sweetly. “I put extra effort to make it more beautiful because it's my first time after becoming the Luna of the Crimson Claw Pack. I'm very excited.” Raya squealed and I placed my hand on her head. “Yeah, your face is saying it all. Let's go, everyone is waiting for us.” She held my arm and we made our ways downstairs to go out. Beta Raden and Gamma Daniel looked at me and I blinked my eyes at them saying to be ready. Every pack member gathers near the stalls to buy lanterns and enjoy delicious desserts. Raya and I were standing on the bridge over the lake. She had bought a beautiful lantern. Everyone was happy around us but there was a storm going on in my mind. My heart was pounding hard. Even though I was ready with my backup plan, I knew it would be a huge chaos. And some may lose their lives. Tension hung in the air like the scent of an approaching storm. I cast a glance at Raya, her vibrant hair catching the flickering firelight, illuminating her features in an almost ethereal glow. Because of the pregnancy her glow has increased a lot. But beneath that beauty lay a storm of betrayal. She was a spy, planted by the rival pack. I didn't know her purpose behind helping my rival but I will definitely ask her this after the battle. Everyone gathered on the bridge over the small lake to release the lanterns. As soon as we released the lanterns and were enjoying the view together we heard loud growls coming from the woods. We heard the loud sound of the large bell which indicated danger. Everyone got alert. We sent the old members and kids to the safe house and got ready for the battle. I cast a last glance towards Raya before shifting myself to my black majestic wolf. A small triumphant smile on her face didn't go unnoticed by me. It was impossible to break into the packland if Raya didn't help them to get into the pack. I will deal with them later. First let me handle them. With a guttural snarl, one of the intruders lunged through the air, aiming at one of my warriors. But he tackled the wolf very swiftly and I felt proud that my hard work in training them didn't go in vain. Because our opponent warriors were from the best warriors of the Silver Forest Pack. My wolf let out a powerful roar and my secret warriors appeared from the bushes and gathered around me. I was standing before then as the leader. I had already sought help from the Alpha of my allied Packs. They sent their warriors to help me. I looked at Raya to see her expression and as expected, she looked shocked to the core. The chaos erupted. The peaceful ceremony morphed into a feral battleground under the shimmering moonlight. Guttering growls echoed. I saw Victor, the Alpha of the Silver Forest Pack standing before me with his brown wolf. He was bearing his teeth. We ran and lunged at each other. He was lethal and fast that's why before I could attack him he cunningly bit my neck. But I managed to get out of his clutch and attack him with my claws. Claws clashed against teeth, and the scent of blood filled the air, mingled with a sharp tang of adrenaline. Victor thought it would be easy to take down me with his powerful warrior. But he didn't expect me to have a backup plan. Gamma Daniel came to help me while Beta Raden was handling the others, ensuring no one escaped. The pack fought for their home, their family and under my leadership, they pushed back against the wave of aggression with a ferocity that spoke their bond. We had taken down most of their warriors. I shifted back into my human form. And seeing me shifting back, Victor also shifted back. We were circling each other. “How did you know that I was going to attack your pack? Was it that bitch Raya?” He snarled furiously and I smirked. “You underestimated me, Alpha Victor. I have many connections. I don't need to manipulate a girl to get news that's your style not mine. I don't know how you brainwashed her mind to go against……” Before I could finish my line, a loud gasp left my mouth as I felt an excruciating pain in my heart, something sharp piercing my flesh from behind. I saw a vicious smirk on Victor’s face. I didn't know who was the traitor that stabbed me from behind. A shrieking scream left my mouth in pain when I felt the blade twisted inside my heart. “I did this because Victor is my destined Mate. And I love him, not you. You fool. I just used you.” With that saying Raya pulled out the dagger from my heart and I fell on the ground. The saying was true, “It's not the stab that kills you. It's when you turn around and see who's holding the dagger.” Moaning in pain I looked at her and saw her laughing maliciously towards me but her laughter morphed into a shrieking cry out when Xander cut off Alpha Victor’s head in front of her. Xander was Alpha Victor’s father's real Mate’s Son. The true heir of the Silver Forest Pack. I couldn't witness anything more and drowned into the darkness. . . . It took over one week for me to recover. Raya was locked in the cell. I was going to meet her and have some words with her. The guard opened the cell and I entered the cell to find her sitting in a corner shackling with silver chains around her wrists, ankles, and neck. She looked lean and weak. Her baby bump was gone. I heard her child didn't survive when Victor died. Because of the heartbreak the child died in her womb. When she felt my presence she looked up at me and I saw the eyes that once used to shine brightly now looked lifeless. I laughed bitterly looking at her. “Destined Mate?” “You know that night when I announced you as my destined Mate?” “I knew you weren't my destined Mate. It was always Viviana, who was my destined Mate and my childhood crush.” “I always wished for her to be my destined Mate and Selene did listen to my prayers and paired me with her but because of your little trick I almost lost her.” “When the cottage caught on fire and you saved me risking your life while ending up injuring your back. I decided to make you my Luna while sacrificing my love.” I let out another bitter chuckle. “Because I thought you loved me and put me before your own life. May I know why you did that?” I asked her and she smiled weekly. “I knew you always loved Viviana and I couldn't tolerate it. I was envious of her. I always wanted to become Luna and then kick her out of the pack. But nothing goes as per my plan. Everything ruined in the end when Victor kidnapped me. But when he came to know that I was his Mate he changed his plan. We were living happily together until the day he asked me to come back to you and help him to get your Pack.” She explained everything because now there was no point of hiding anything. Everything is over now. “You know the best thing that happened in my life was when you got kidnapped. I know it was Victor. And the child you were carrying was also his. I married Viviana when she announced that I was her Mate in the Mating Ball. When we were making love I saw the flower mark on her chest near the alley of her breast. I saw that mark that fire night. And I understood, you tricked me with my sister that it was you, who saved me.” I walked near her and clenched her jaw firmly in my palm. “I looked for you everywhere because I wanted to punish you but then I came to know about your evil plan. And I played along. Your game is over, Raya.” I let go of her face with a jerk. “Be ready for the punishment you deserve. Your punishment is sentenced to death. Tomorrow morning, your head will be cut off in front of everyone to show everyone the consequences of a traitor, who betrays their pack.” Saying that I walked out of the cell. . . . Loud banging on the door woke me up in the morning. I went to open the door only to witness Daniel huffing and puffing. “Raya escaped.” The news shook me to the core. How can she escape when there was such tight security in the cell? There must be someone who helped her to escape. But who? Later we came to know that it was her father who helped her to escape. Before I could punish him he took his life himself. SIX YEARS LATER….. “I don't understand why he had to organize his wedding here in Hong Kong. I hate to be here.” I whined and Raden laughed. “Don't be fussy. We will be leaving tomorrow.” Raden tried to calm me down. “Let's go to the mall. I have to buy some gifts for my Mate.” I glared at him through the rearview mirror. “Now I have to tag along with you to the mall because you have to buy gifts for your Mate?” I yelled at him. “Yes, Moreover, you should buy some for your Mother too. She will be happy.” I gave it a thought and agreed then we both went to a mall to do some shopping. I was choosing some jewelry when my gaze fell on a particular person and my eyes went wide. I couldn't believe my eyes that Viviana was standing before me. I left the shop and approached her. “Viviana!” She looked up at me and blinked her eyes. “Yes, who are you?” My heart raced when her melodious voice fell on my ear. But why wasn't she recognizing me? “I know you are Mad at me. But don't act like you don't know me, Viviana. I'm Ezra. Your husband. And you’re my wife, Viviana.” She still looked confused. “Look Mr. You are mistaking me for someone else. I'm not your wife.” Taking a step back she was trying to make me understand. “I know you are saying this because you are mad at me. I’m sorry for breaking your heart. I will explain everything to you why I did that. Please give me a second chance. I will do anything to earn your forgiveness.” I pleaded and was about to take one more step towards her but stopped at the overbearing deep voice. “Stay away from my wife.” I looked behind Viviana and I was shaken up when I saw the man. Someone I never expected to come across ever in my life.Peace had finally returned to the Ironcrest Palace. The vampires had been shattered, Elion cast into the dungeons, and for the first time in many moons, the pack could breathe without the shadow of war looming over them. Jennifer stood on the balcony of her chambers, the morning sun spilling across the horizon. Her hand drifted unconsciously to her stomach, where new life stirred, a secret she had kept close to her heart for weeks. She turned when she heard footsteps. Reis entered, his dark hair damp from training, his golden eyes softening the moment they met hers. His presence still made her heart race, even after everything they had endured. “You’ve been smiling to yourself all morning,” he teased, crossing the room to wrap his arms around her waist. “Should I be worried?” Jennifer bit back a laugh, pressing her forehead to his chest. “Not worried. Surprised.” Reis leaned back, searching her face. “Surprised?” Her eyes shimmered as she took his hand and placed it against her b
The battle’s echoes had barely faded when Elion tried to flee. His dagger clattered to the stone as he staggered toward a shadowed tunnel, ash clinging to his clothes, his face pale with desperation. But Reis was faster. The Alpha’s hand closed around Elion’s throat, slamming him against the cavern wall. His golden eyes blazed with betrayal.“You sold your soul to leeches.”Elion spat blood, snarling. “You took everything from me! My sister died because of you. You deserved to lose Jennifer, just as I lost her!”Reis’s grip tightened, but his Jennifer’s voice cut through the cavern, steady, commanding.“Don’t kill him.”Reis turned, shocked. Jennifer’s blade still glowed in her grasp, her eyes like stormlight. She stepped closer, her voice ringing with cold authority. “Death would be too easy. Let him live with the weight of what he’s done. Lock him in the dungeons for the rest of his life.”Elion’s eyes widened with fury, but his voice trembled. “You… you’ll regret this.”Jennifer le
When Jennifer woke up, the air was thick with blood and damp stone. Torches sputtered against jagged cavern walls, their light flickering over the bodies that moved in the shadows, vampires, pale and hungry.Jennifer’s wrists were bound in silver chains, the silver burning her skin, making her weak. But her eyes were clear now, sharp, steady. They didn’t know the mistake they had made.A figure stepped forward from the shadows. Familiar. Her breath caught.“Elion…!”The Beta King smirked, the firelight casting harsh angles across his face. “Surprised to see me, Queen Jennifer?”Jennifer’s stomach twisted. “You’re… with them?” She couldn't believe her eyes. He was betraying his own people, his kin but why?Elion's smile darkened, edged with bitterness. “Don’t act shocked. You of all people should know what Reis cost me. My sister.” His voice cracked like a whip, filled with years of venom. “She’d still be alive if it weren’t for him. If it weren’t for you.”Jennifer’s heart pounded, b
The first ripple of unease came the night Reis returned from the city. His car screeched to a halt on the moonlit road, tires skidding against gravel. A figure stumbled into his path, arms flailing before crumpling in front of his headlights.Reis slammed the door open, heart pounding.“Damn it!” He rushed forward, crouching low.A woman. Human! Her face was pale beneath streaks of blood, clothes torn, and her body bore deep cuts as though she had clawed her way through thorns or worse. Her lips trembled, muttering broken syllables, before she collapsed completely.Without hesitation, Reis scooped her into his arms. Her skin was cold, trembling like a leaf in a storm.“Hold on,” he muttered through clenched teeth, pressing her closer as he raced back to the car. “You’re not dying here.”“To the pack hospital.” Reis ordered his driver and the driver started driving rashly to reach the hospital before it's too late. He was already frightened after hitting the girl. The palace hospital
That night, long after the council’s decree and Sabrina’s execution, Jennifer finally drifted into sleep in Reis’s arms. His steady heartbeat and warmth should have been comforting, but her dreams were anything but peaceful.Darkness spread before her like a veil. The forest she knew well Ironcrest’s sacred grounds stood cloaked in blood-red mist. The moon above bled crimson, dripping light onto the earth.A voice whispered through the shadows, ancient and heavy with sorrow.“Child of destiny… the war has only begun.”Jennifer turned, searching for the source, and there she stood, the Moon Goddess, shrouded in silver light. Her eyes glimmered with both compassion and warning.Jennifer’s chest tightened. “Why show me this? Sabrina is gone. Her betrayal ended.”The Goddess’s expression softened, yet her voice resonated with undeniable truth.“Sabrina was only a thread in a greater weave. Darkness clings to her choice, and from it, more will come. You carry the mark of fate, your blood h
The courtyard was hushed long after Sabrina’s execution, as though the very air grieved. No one dared to speak loudly, not even the warriors dispersing from their posts. The banners of Ironcrest fluttered softly, carrying with them the weight of betrayal, blood, and loss.Beta King Elion, her brother remained by the block long after everyone else had left. His hands trembled, fists clenched so tight his knuckles turned white. Tears streamed down his cheeks unchecked. He had once dreamed of standing proudly beside her at court, of their family’s loyalty strengthening Ironcrest’s throne. Now all he had left was ashes of that dream.Jennifer lingered nearby, her chest heavy with conflicting emotions. Relief at Sabrina’s end warred with the memory of her broken laugh and desperate eyes. For all the venom Sabrina had spewed, she had once been family to them.Reis’s arm curled around Jennifer’s waist protectively, anchoring her as much as himself. His voice was low, hoarse from silence. “Sh
