We arrive at the hotel and are shown to our rooms.

Sarah and I get one while my brother will stay with another since it's two per room.

The news of the king's interest in me has spread like wildfire and now everyone wants to know who I am. I can hear them criticizing my every step, every strand of hair and whatever they could get their eyes on.

I'm already used to the stares from my clan but this is just too much. It's not as if I'm going to be their queen.

My sister and I decided to take an elevator along with some others to the third floor where our room is located. One could cut the tension in the confined space with a knife.

I don't let my discomfort show, something I have learned over the years while Sarah is glaring back at anyone that glares at us. My siblings, I shake my head with a small smile in amusement.

A woman in front of me finally picks up the courage and turns to face me. She's fairly beautiful with a haughty look in her eyes that said she knew.

"Is it true that you and the king are acquainted with each other?" She asks with a raised brow and a smirk playing at the corner of her lips.

The elevator suddenly seems more quiet than before, if that is even possible. Everyone is waiting with bated breath for my answer.

Sarah gasps dramatically and shoots daggers at the woman with her eyes. "The audacity to just ask her as if she owes you any explanation." She turns to me, "You don't have to answer her, May. She's just green from envy because the king will never look at her."

Some women in the elevator let out gasps of surprise while the men and a few other women chuckle.

This girl, I sigh in exasperation. If I'm not mistaken, the woman asking is from the Leventis clan and they're not ones to take things lightly.

"How dare you speak to me like that!" The woman shrieks, making me want to cover my ears. "Do you even know who I am, little girl?!" More shrieking.

"Who you are means absolutely nothing to us. You don't get to talk to us that way, just be quiet like everyone else." Sarah retorts, hands on her hips and I can see how much she's enjoying this. She loves a good word fight; I share the same sentiment but I don't always indulge in it.

The woman turns her glare on me, probably thinking I'm an easier opponent because of my non-involvement and opens her mouth but I cut her off by raising my palm.

"I suggest you don't start anything with me unless you want to be treated like the insecure little pup you are."

She looks stricken, as if I killed her puppy and my sister has a huge grin on her face.

Thankfully we reach our floor and get off before it progresses into something more serious.

Our luggages is already in our room so I just swipe the key card on the door and walk in, my sister following behind me. The room has a simple layout with two big twin beds, a nightstand and drawers to the right and a bathroom and wardrobe to the left, with an inbuilt bulb lighting the room.

"That was so good," She giggles like the little she-devil she is. "I feel like you let her off easy though."

"You shouldn't have answered her in the first place."

I place the card on the nightstand and turn to take in the rest of the room. It has a medium sized screen television facing the bed. That's nice.

"That would have just given her more courage to spew nonsense." She complains as she flops on one of the beds and starts bouncing on it.

I walk past her to our luggages which is by the wardrobe. "Silence is the best answer for a fool, Sarah. Sometimes you should just let them talk until they realize how fatuous they sound."

"Wise words, sister, well said," She replies in a safe tone that makes me laugh.

"Come and unpack, I'm not doing it for you again." I start to arrange my things in one part of the wardrobe, leaving the other side for her.

I hear her huff and I'm sure she's pouting.

She comes to stand beside me and starts to offload her things into the wardrobe. "I thought you loved me," She whines.

"Spoiled brat," I chuckle and we work in silence for a bit.

"Will they even fit?" I ask in concern as I see that her space is almost filled up. The things she brought are too much.

"Probably not but I can still fit some things into the drawers." She replies.

"Alright."

I'm already done arranging my things, just remaining the books that I'll leave in my box since there isn't any more space because of Sarah's things.

I take out a baby blue sweater that covers my buttocks, underwear and yoga pants and place them on the bed before going into the bathroom to freshen up.

All the clans will be meeting up again in the hall where the rules and any important announcement will be made known. It's mostly for the first timers but it's compulsory for everyone to be there.

Once we're done showering and dressing up, we head out.

"Isn't that a bit too low?" I ask her. She's putting on some cargo pants and a long sleeve crop top with a low neckline. The pants are hanging really low on her hips, I can see the lacy underwear she has under.

She pulls it up with a sigh and I nod in approval. We decided to take the stairs to avoid a repeat of last time.

The hall is very spacious which makes sense considering the amount of people in here. Colorful chandeliers light up the room and soothing music is playing in the background. The walls were decorated with artistic tapestries of the Lycans, the forest, wars and of course the king.

The hall is very crowded and we try to navigate through it in search of our brother and food.

We find food first and start to fill up our plates. I'm absolutely famished. We didn't eat anything since morning, the snacks on the road don't count.

"Slow down, May. Don't you need to be on some kind of diet so you'd look sexy for him." Sarah wiggles her brows and bumps her hips against mine.

"I'm hungry," I reply, causing her to snicker and once I feel like my plate is full enough, we move to find seats.

Xavier's POV"May!" The siblings yell in terror as my beloved rushed towards them, her heart rate increasing at a frightening pace. "Bring water!" They splash water on her face but she doesn't budge. "May?!" Richard yells, eyes wide in panic and lightly taps on her cheek. Sarah puts her ear to Maya's chest and sighs in relief. "She's alive." "Of course she's alive. I can hear her breathing. Don't say such things." Richard snaps at her, making me frown but she only humphs. "I didn't mean it like that. Come on and lay her down."He complies and gently carries her to the only couch in the sitting room. Sarah starts to pace as she twists her hands together, a clear sign of frayed nerves. "She's been in bed since this morning and now this? What if she's ill? Maybe that's the reason she's been in bed all week. She's sick but doesn't want us to know. No wonder she had been upset when I suddenly started assuming…""I didn't know all this was happening. When were you planning on letting

"Are you really okay? You're rubbing your stomach. Does it hurt? Don't lie to me, May," Richard demands with a worried frown. His body is tense because of the presence of a powerful Lycan in the house and the thought that he might not be able to protect us if it calls for him. "Calm down, Richard. I'm fine and so is Sarah." I reply even as dread fills me after I belatedly remove my hand from my stomach. "We don't know that," he hisses through clenched teeth, making me roll my eyes and look towards the kitchen. I can't see them but I can clearly hear smooching sounds and only hope they go no further than that. Judging from my brother's twisted expression, he can hear it too. Thankfully, they emerge from the kitchen in one piece except for swollen lips and poorly straightened clothes. "There's some lipstick here." I point to the corner of my lips and Sarah's cheeks explode with color as Xavier reaches up to clean his mouth. There's some on his neck too but no one else seems to not

"Are you okay?" What? They both rush to my aid but I wave them aside; the shocking possibility now at the forefront of my mind. "Maya?" Richard rubs my shoulders while Sarah stands beside me, obviously panicking for absolutely no reason. I should be the one on the verge of an existential breakdown. "I'm fine, I just ate too fast that's all." I drop the fork I had been using, pick up the glass of water with both hands and proceed to nurse on it. A child can't be growing inside of me. I cannot be pregnant, it's impossible. I mean we forgot to use protection in the heat of it but I'm on birth control so it's not possible. My breathing becomes a little easier at the relieving thought. My luck cannot be that bad. "Okay, if you say so. You haven't eaten anything since this morning so it's no wonder," Sarah mumbles and walks back to the kitchen. "Richie, come help me with the food. May, you might as well set the table." Richard and I make eye contact and snort at her bossy tone. She r

"When will Richard be back?" I ask my sister turned nagging witch. The faster he gets back, the sooner she finds someone else to pester. "In an hour or so but we're not talking about him. I'm worried about you, May." She has been sitting at my feet, on the bed and yapping on about how strange I've been behaving for however long. I'm not really listening. "Well don't be, I'm perfectly fine. I'm just resting." "Are you sure you're okay?" Sarah asks for what is probably the millionth time and again I reply."Don't you have something better to do?" She pouts and makes puppy eyes at me, making me roll my eyes. "Just because today is my off day from work doesn't mean you get to pester me." She scoots closer to me, causing the bed to bounce a bit and a slight wave of nausea washes over me. "But you've been in bed all day. You haven't eaten anything today and it's almost lunch time. You're also being meaner than usual." I scoff. "I'm always mean as you so kindly put it. What you call m

  • MY HEART BELONGS TO THE LYCAN KING   Chapter 22

Judging from the illuminous rays of the sun shining through the curtains and covering the room in it's warm glow, I'd say the day is in full swing which means my departure is imminent. We've been tangled in the sheets for some time now but neither one of us wants to detach from the rejuvenating cuddle we somehow fell into. The circular motion of his hand on my back seems like an unconscious movement but relieving nonetheless. My head is lying on his chest as I trace a swirly pattern around his areola; his breathing makes his chest move up and down in a rhythm I like very much. It is well into the morning already and I was only meant to stay here for the night and leave early this morning but I guess we got carried away; the copulation of our bodies something so incredible, we couldn't resist indulging ourselves for so long; but the inevitable is near. I take a deep breath, knowing that what I'm about to say will not bode well with him but it is for the best. My thoughts are a bit

  • MY HEART BELONGS TO THE LYCAN KING   Chapter 21

He hasn't looked at me since we started eating and knowing he is upset with me makes it hard to stomach any food despite its pleasing scent and taste. "Is the food not to your liking?" He asks without looking at me, his attention is focused on the steak he is currently cutting up in a way that lets me know he's intentionally ignoring me. I shift my very exposed derriere on the bed; the back of the shorts had since ridden up and disappeared. "I'm not particularly hungry," I reply quietly; the omelet I've been tossing around looks unappetizing in the face of his passive anger. He hums and forks a rather huge piece of steak into his mouth. I let out a dejected sigh as he goes back to ignoring me. The only sounds in the room are his quiet chewing and my utensils clanging against each other. A fork with a small piece of chicken on it appears in front of my face, making me look up in mild surprise. His hand is paused in midair and nudges the fork against my lips, smearing some of the s
