Chapter 4

We arrive at the hotel and are shown to our rooms.

Sarah and I get one while my brother will stay with another since it's two per room.

The news of the king's interest in me has spread like wildfire and now everyone wants to know who I am. I can hear them criticizing my every step, every strand of hair and whatever they could get their eyes on.

I'm already used to the stares from my clan but this is just too much. It's not as if I'm going to be their queen.

My sister and I decided to take an elevator along with some others to the third floor where our room is located. One could cut the tension in the confined space with a knife.

I don't let my discomfort show, something I have learned over the years while Sarah is glaring back at anyone that glares at us. My siblings, I shake my head with a small smile in amusement.

A woman in front of me finally picks up the courage and turns to face me. She's fairly beautiful with a haughty look in her eyes that said she knew.

"Is it true that you and the king are acquainted with each other?" She asks with a raised brow and a smirk playing at the corner of her lips.

The elevator suddenly seems more quiet than before, if that is even possible. Everyone is waiting with bated breath for my answer.

Sarah gasps dramatically and shoots daggers at the woman with her eyes. "The audacity to just ask her as if she owes you any explanation." She turns to me, "You don't have to answer her, May. She's just green from envy because the king will never look at her."

Some women in the elevator let out gasps of surprise while the men and a few other women chuckle.

This girl, I sigh in exasperation. If I'm not mistaken, the woman asking is from the Leventis clan and they're not ones to take things lightly.

"How dare you speak to me like that!" The woman shrieks, making me want to cover my ears. "Do you even know who I am, little girl?!" More shrieking.

"Who you are means absolutely nothing to us. You don't get to talk to us that way, just be quiet like everyone else." Sarah retorts, hands on her hips and I can see how much she's enjoying this. She loves a good word fight; I share the same sentiment but I don't always indulge in it.

The woman turns her glare on me, probably thinking I'm an easier opponent because of my non-involvement and opens her mouth but I cut her off by raising my palm.

"I suggest you don't start anything with me unless you want to be treated like the insecure little pup you are."

She looks stricken, as if I killed her puppy and my sister has a huge grin on her face.

Thankfully we reach our floor and get off before it progresses into something more serious.

Our luggages is already in our room so I just swipe the key card on the door and walk in, my sister following behind me. The room has a simple layout with two big twin beds, a nightstand and drawers to the right and a bathroom and wardrobe to the left, with an inbuilt bulb lighting the room.

"That was so good," She giggles like the little she-devil she is. "I feel like you let her off easy though."

"You shouldn't have answered her in the first place."

I place the card on the nightstand and turn to take in the rest of the room. It has a medium sized screen television facing the bed. That's nice.

"That would have just given her more courage to spew nonsense." She complains as she flops on one of the beds and starts bouncing on it.

I walk past her to our luggages which is by the wardrobe. "Silence is the best answer for a fool, Sarah. Sometimes you should just let them talk until they realize how fatuous they sound."

"Wise words, sister, well said," She replies in a safe tone that makes me laugh.

"Come and unpack, I'm not doing it for you again." I start to arrange my things in one part of the wardrobe, leaving the other side for her.

I hear her huff and I'm sure she's pouting.

She comes to stand beside me and starts to offload her things into the wardrobe. "I thought you loved me," She whines.

"Spoiled brat," I chuckle and we work in silence for a bit.

"Will they even fit?" I ask in concern as I see that her space is almost filled up. The things she brought are too much.

"Probably not but I can still fit some things into the drawers." She replies.

"Alright."

I'm already done arranging my things, just remaining the books that I'll leave in my box since there isn't any more space because of Sarah's things.

I take out a baby blue sweater that covers my buttocks, underwear and yoga pants and place them on the bed before going into the bathroom to freshen up.

All the clans will be meeting up again in the hall where the rules and any important announcement will be made known. It's mostly for the first timers but it's compulsory for everyone to be there.

Once we're done showering and dressing up, we head out.

"Isn't that a bit too low?" I ask her. She's putting on some cargo pants and a long sleeve crop top with a low neckline. The pants are hanging really low on her hips, I can see the lacy underwear she has under.

She pulls it up with a sigh and I nod in approval. We decided to take the stairs to avoid a repeat of last time.

The hall is very spacious which makes sense considering the amount of people in here. Colorful chandeliers light up the room and soothing music is playing in the background. The walls were decorated with artistic tapestries of the Lycans, the forest, wars and of course the king.

The hall is very crowded and we try to navigate through it in search of our brother and food.

We find food first and start to fill up our plates. I'm absolutely famished. We didn't eat anything since morning, the snacks on the road don't count.

"Slow down, May. Don't you need to be on some kind of diet so you'd look sexy for him." Sarah wiggles her brows and bumps her hips against mine.

"I'm hungry," I reply, causing her to snicker and once I feel like my plate is full enough, we move to find seats.
