Chapter 21

He hasn't looked at me since we started eating and knowing he is upset with me makes it hard to stomach any food despite its pleasing scent and taste.

"Is the food not to your liking?" He asks without looking at me, his attention is focused on the steak he is currently cutting up in a way that lets me know he's intentionally ignoring me.

I shift my very exposed derriere on the bed; the back of the shorts had since ridden up and disappeared. "I'm not particularly hungry," I reply quietly; the omelet I've been tossing around looks unappetizing in the face of his passive anger.

He hums and forks a rather huge piece of steak into his mouth. I let out a dejected sigh as he goes back to ignoring me.

The only sounds in the room are his quiet chewing and my utensils clanging against each other. A fork with a small piece of chicken on it appears in front of my face, making me look up in mild surprise.
