Rosalia stood silently, tray in hand, condolences envelope on top. She didn't even dare to breathe yet as her fingers gripped the tray as tightly as she could, she could hear the slight crumpling sound of the aluminium crushing under her grip.

She hadn't expected anyone to be in the kitchen, it was stupid of her really to assume such a thing.

The two women were at a complete standoff.

Neither moving nor saying a word. The awkwardness of the situation escalating by each and every second that ticked by between them.

Rosalia had no idea what to say or do. She was floored at the sight of Isabella suddenly standing tall in the kitchen. She was turned around and slumped over the sink when she first stepped in, however now she stood tall, arms crossed over her chest as she inhaled angry breaths through her nose. A bull, waiting to charge and she was the red cloth.

"Get out..."

"I-I- Isabella, I just want-" as she stuttered she accidentally tipped the tray a little forcing the envelope t

Two Weeks and Three Days Later...Rosalia had thought long and hard about every possible scenario. She played them all out in her mind while she ate, lay in bed, showered, flicked through television stations, sipped on her coffees. Every micro second of her day for over the last two weeks had been spent thinking, contemplating, scheming. There was no easy way out, no perfect options which particularly suited all parties involved but she knew she had to make a decision, had to be bold and once and for all make a move.Tapping an impatient finger on the plastic tupperware container she finally cracked a smile once Giovanni made his way through the doors and towards her.Jumping to her feet she wasted no time greeting him with a kiss, flinging her arms over his firm shoulders forcing his body into an embrace while his hands remained cuffed before him."NO TOUCHING!" A guard roared flashing them both a stern look of warning until they both sunk into their allocated seats."You baked?" Gio

"I'm thinking coffee and breakfast at this hour." Stefano stated, glancing over Rosalia now in the front passenger seat. He knew Giovanni didn't want her travelling up front, not after her incident with Luca, but if there was one thing Stefano was learning about Rosalia, if he wanted to stay ahead, he'd have to let her have her way on occasion."So? What are you feeling?" He continued, "pancakes? Eggs? Pastries? Please say pastries! I know the best place!"Rosalia squirmed in her seat a little awkwardly shifting the material of the yellow sundress between her legs. "I'm not hungry... Pretty beat actually!"sundress between her legs. "I'm not hungry... Pretty beat actually!""I bet..." An awkward cough leaving him as he sped down the dark streets rapidly, the city lights coming into view in the far distance."And I don't need to hear about it! Just a thank you will suffice!" He stated, with a playful wink tilting his head towards her. "Now come on and choose something or I'm taking us s

The room was grey all over, from the walls to sheets and some form of throw blanket on the horrifically gloomy looking bed. It almost seemed like the opening scenes to a horror movie prior to the murder taking place. She didn't exactly expect a vase with freshly cut flowers in the corner, but she didn't expect the room to look so eerie either. Not knowing what to do with herself, Rosalia awkwardly stood in the centre of the room, her gaze travelling from the floor to the walls inspecting every crevice and crack. What was one to do alone in a conjugal visit room? Reluctantly she made her way to the bed which was wedged up against one corner of the room and clearly way too small to do anything they would normally do in the privacy of their own bedroom. The bed was so small it could barely pass as a single! She placed the two foil packs on the lob sided table before sitting on the edge of the mattress. Instantly feeling a wave of disgust rush through her as the thought of multiple inmate

  • MY MAFIA SAVIOUR   CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY-TWO

She was spiralling again. Falling down the longest, most twisted rabbit hole to the depths of despair. That fucking shoebox. She hated it and all the happy people smiling back at her day after day after day. They were mocking her. Setting her up for failure. Her mind was frazzled, she could feel it leading her down a path of self destruction. So she called Stefano at twelve-forty in the middle of the night, to which he came to her without any fuss making it to her within ten minutes. "Babe what's wrong?" Making his own way into the penthouse she was sitting on the floor, the coffee table had been moved, the notebook was beside her and photos were covering every inch of the cosy rug. She looked like a mess. "I'm so sorry!" She sobbed uncontrollably, it was clear she had been crying for at least a solid half hour. "I know I'm being stupid, and I shouldn't bother you, and you gave me time to cry it out but-" "No... This is good..." He encouraged coming closer, shoving some of

The shoebox was tormenting her. Teasing her. Mocking her entire existence. Two weeks of rummaging through photos, a notebook with Rosalia's notes scribbled on page after page after page which followed her in every room of the penthouse. It was consuming her! Sleeping at night was becoming an impossible task; she went from unable to get herself out of bed to struggling to keep herself asleep at night. Ricci had invaded her dreams, or maybe they were nightmares? She wasn't entirely sure. She never recalled having fear in the dreams, but she always awoke shooting herself up in bed breathless, unable to re-find solace. The dreams were always what seemed completely random; sometimes he was walking her through Elisa's apartment, the pair hand in hand just walking aimlessly with no real purpose or destination. Other times she was frozen completely still beside Elisa's coffee table while Ricci moved around her violently, tearing objects out of cupboards, boxes, shelves. She was never ab

Five Days Later..."Rosa seriously, we were here yesterday and the day before that, and while you were incarcerated we also tore this place apart. There is nothing here!"The exhaustion in Stefano's voice could not be hidden no matter how hard he tried. This woman simply would not listen! It was infuriating! What did Giovanni even see in her?Must really know how to suck cö-"And I told you yesterday, and the day before that, you don't have to supervise me! Go home, or to the club, or wherever else Gio has you running around for him."Rosalia's voice interrupting his less than desirable thoughts. She was a woman on a mission, a not so well organised mission, but a mission at that!Elisa's old apartment had been completely abandoned. By the time the dust had settled on the situation at the New Jersey Estate, she was long gone.Giovanni had quickly organised continuous payments to the landlord which were still occurring to date. It was a long shot, but they hoped she would eventually re
