Cassie POV

“I said it. You were doomed from the start. Someday he would stop putting you, and you would end up in the streets as a rogue,” the usual voice filled my head.

I don't say anything; I don't try to stop the voice like I usually do.

Because I can feel it.

She is right.

This time she is right.

A knock drags me from the emptiness I feel. A maid walks inside with a smile. “Ma, the Alpha said I should ask you which room you would like to take”

He is so eager

So willing to push me away.

I smile. “That is his choice to make”

I take the key from the table and walk away.

Tears blur my eyes as I drive around the pack. Some children wave at me with admiration in their eyes.

They always do.

Because they adore me.

Why?

Because I am their Luna. And with that title gone, I have nothing left.

And he is leaving me for his stepsister.

Andrea

Now I see where this whole one-sided beef came from. She was always bent on isolating me and making me feel so left out and useless.

I thought it was because she hated me.

But in reality, it's because I was with her mate.

And he knew.

The painful thing is that he knew.

I pause at the outskirts of the pack. I don't even know how I found my way here, but I am here.

In front of a club, maybe it's because I know this would be my next option when he gets tired of me.

I would be a rogue, and where do all female rogues go?

This club.

The dark club

To sell their body.

For some cheap bucks.

The club is filled with so many people- men, women, all of them

The guards stop me at the gate and give me a mask. He whispers to me to enjoy their service.

Maybe he does not notice that I am his Luna.

Or he decided to be ignorant about it.

And I am thankful

With the mask behind me, no one would know I am here.

The strong smell of alcohol hit my nostrils immediately as I got inside.

A lady goes up and down on the pole and smiles as men throw cash and alcohol at her, while some try to touch her.

The other side of the club is filled with women, clattering around men, trying so hard to get them.

And then the left side is filled with men, elderly people whom I hold in high esteem, recovering pleasure from their fellow men

My eyes fell on an elder there, who got married some years ago. Yet he is here, his tongue on a male prostitute's mouth.

I walk to the counter

Feeling not only sad but disgusted that this would be my reality.

The bartender placed two menus before me

“What do you need, ma'am? Desires or drinks”

I take a glance at the menu.

One menu is filled with drinks and food.

The other was filled with sexual suggestions. Wow!

“One lady

Two ladies

Two men

Two gays”

I toss the menu to the side. “I need one glass of scotch,” I say with a smile.

He nods and walks back with the half-filled glass.

I take it in one gulp and ask for another, and another.

Fuck the moon goddess for making sure that werewolves can't get drunk.

“The next one would be on me,” a deep baritone voice whispers as he takes a seat beside me.

My eyes wander to the starburst sitting beside me. Unlike the other men here, he is a little bit decently dressed.

His long, dark, curly hair almost falls into his eyes; he winks at me and places the glass in front of me.

“So what is your name?” He asks, his eyes still on me even as he takes a little sip of his drink.

I can feel myself getting hot under his eyes, heat burning within me; it's as if his eyes are peeling my clothes off one by one.

“I am not a prostitute,” I say with a smile, grabbing my bag.

“I know”

“Please leave. Don't sell yourself; take home another Caspian. Even if you look desirable, when he finds out who you are or how mad you are, he would run.” Cleo's voice interrupted my thought.

I pressed my eyes together, tight, trying to control myself.

I smiled at him even though I could begin to get the weird feeling that he must have been me talking to myself. “Okay… um.” I paused, thinking of how to lead a conversation.

The only man I had in my life was Caspian, and he made talking to him so easy.

So good that it did not get to me, who is an introvert.

“Your name, just tell me your name”

“Olivia,” I lie

I let myself feel wanted for just one day.

“Nathan,” he says, his eyes falling on my lips. His eyes darkened with every instance.

I cleared my throat. “Again, I am not a prostitute. I came here to get a drink”

This time he laughs, almost spilling his drink. He pauses when tears are already in his eyes. “You came to the dark club. For a drink? Not for sex. People come here solely for sex”

“Well, I came here to drink. Besides, it's at a very lonely location. It would be easy for me to go unnoticed”

“Yet I noticed you,” he says, smiling.

I roll my eyes. “You thought I was a hooker”

He shakes his head, dropping the glass. His hands circle the tip of the glass; his eyes drop slowly to my boobs.

I don't know why I am even feeling affected.

I don't remember the last time I felt desired.

“You did not dress like one, so I never assumed you were one of them. I just felt you wanted someone to fulfil your desires just as I do.” he paused and added, “But you came here for the drink” his voice is low now, sounding sad.

I want to tell him I want him. I don't even want the drink. What the hell would I do with the drink?

I have desires that have not been fulfilled for the past three months, and I thought I was not beautiful, only to find out my husband was fucking someone else.

“Why the hell would he want someone like you? You useless, used fool”

“Stop it. He wants me,” I try to stop the voice from echoing in my head.

I pause, realizing I had just said that out loud. My eyes fall on my lap as I try to avoid his eyes.

“Don't do that,” he says softly, reaching out to touch my hair.

“Do what?”

He smiles, his eyes glittering with excitement now. “Be ashamed. I want you; of course, I would not be here if I didn't want you. There is no need to be ashamed of”

I open my mouth and close it.

How do I tell him I was bathing with my twin sister?

But he wants me.

And that counts for something.

And maybe he would not judge me that much. I really need someone to put this on.

“Look, I am not… I am not a stable person. I am a bad person. A fool at that. I sacrificed myself for my love, and I am almost going mad”

“We all do foolish things for whom we love, Olivia”

I shake my head. “Yeah, but now he has someone. And I have nobody. No one. And now my twin is angry with me, and I don't have a wolf”

He sits upright and reaches for my hands; his warmth runs through me immediately as his hands touch mine. “So you sacrificed your wolf and also your twin for this man who betrayed you”

I nod, too weak to say a word.

The memories of earlier on hit me, making tears roll down my eyes.

“That’s his loss, Olivia. If you did that for me, I would burn the old for you”

“I have nothing to give. Nothing. Which is why you should go”

He stood up and closed the distance between us.

“Close your eyes”

I stutter, “What...?”

“Just do it. Silence whatever voice you have in your head. Just do as I say”

I close my eyes and try to silence Cleo's voice. Try to delete the memory I had about his money.

I can feel the heat in his body as he closes in; his scent fills my nostrils. His lips melt against mine, gentle at first. Then teasing.

I open my lips, giving him the entrance he needs, his warmth rushing through my mouth, going straight to my core.

I subconsciously try to press my legs tighter, earning a chuckle from him.

He knows what he is doing, and he is clearly enjoying it.

I wrap my arms around his neck, enjoying every bit of it. I can feel my nipples getting harder with every touch.

And then

He pulls away almost immediately. I bite my lip, groaning in frustration.

He placed a card on the table. “Call me whenever you want”

He stares at me, his eyes filled with a pool of emotions. Fighting.

Maybe waiting for me to make a move.

“Okay. Bye”

“Bye”

My eyes stay on his back until he is out of the building before falling back to the card.

My blood turns to ice. Almost everything I desire is gone.

I stare at the name “Garret Dontilo”

He said his name was Nathan.

Which

means he lied.

Just the same way I lied.

He is Garrett Dontilo, not Nathan.

He is the Alpha of the crescent pack.

What the hell.

He is a sworn enemy of our pack. Someone who killed twelve wolves the last time I came

I kissed my husband's enemy.
