Chapter 5

How to Fight Your Demons

March 30 2009

Jasper

I let out a breath and tried to calm my erratic heart beats. My blood flowed more  to a certain  part of my body.Down, boy, down!” I said to my already bulging pants. This girl is driving me nuts. First, she refuses a dinner date on account of having just met me. Then she replies to my good night text with a drunken call. And now she sleeps in the passenger seat of my Ferrari wearing nothing but a tiny piece of clothing. She might as well have been naked with her damn sexy legs exposed and boobs sticking out. Fuck, I want her so bad.

We arrived at my apartment at 795 5th Avenue just in time as light snow started to fall. I carefully carried her in my arms and she slept literally like a baby the whole way up to the 30th floor. The moment I put her in my bed, she slightly opened her eyes and said “Nathan, don’t leave me.”

She held my hand but continued to sleep. I couldn’t help but lay beside her. The smell of Jasmine played in my nose as I buried my face in her hair. Suddenly, she moved and turned to face me. With her eyes still closed, she wrapped an arm around me and the moment her lips touched mine, I could not believe the thrill that electrified my whole being.

I held her face and explored her mouth with my tongue. I couldn’t help it. The moment I saw her in the lab, I couldn’t stop thinking about her. The tiniest moan escaped her lips.

She opened her eyes but didn’t say anything. Didn’t stop kissing me. My skin tingled as her hand wandered around my chest. It went lower and caressed my abs until it wandered again. This time it found the buttons on my pants and started to undo them.

“Wait.” I could barely say through her passionate kisses. “Lucille, wait. You don’t know what you’re getting into.” I broke off our kiss and ran away out the door.

I conquered my inner demons who wanted nothing but to make love to her. I locked the door behind me; the guest bedroom in my flat would at last be used.

The smell of bacon and eggs lingered in the air as I prepared the table. The sun was shining bright through the windows reflecting my good mood. It occurred to me that I’ve never cooked for anyone but myself before. Not even when that sexy model begged me to. Out they all went when when the sun came up. I thought about Lucille sleeping soundly on my bed and my heart started to race. My dick started to get hard again as well. I'm going crazy. Somehow, last night, I knew that I wanted more than just sex with her. What the  fuck is more, anyway? Nuts. Nuts. Nuts!

To get out of my crazy state, I tried slapping my face. When that didn’t work, I grabbed my hair, bent over and started pulling them; As if by doing so, all my feelings for her would disappear. I looked like a complete moron when she suddenly opened the bedroom door.

“Oh hi,” I said as I straightened myself out. “Did you sleep, okay? You hungry?” I acted as if I didn’t look like a complete idiot just seconds ago. Lucille looked at me, tears swelled in her eyes.

“I’m so sorry. I have to go. God. This is so embarrassing. You must think the worst of me.” Her tears started falling so fast, that I instantly took my shirt off. “Don’t cry. Please. It’s not what you think,” I wiped her tears and nose and took her hands.

I made her sit on the table where the breakfast I prepared was ready. “Look, nothing happened between us. Eat and I’ll explain everything.” Lucille eventually stopped crying and looked at me. Her eyes widened when she realized I was only now wearing my boxers. She handed me my shirt back but I didn’t put it on. Look at my six packs and forget that loser, babe. I did my evil laugh inside when I caught her stealing glances.

“You should eat. You vomited so much last night.” I broke the silence between us. Lucille’s cheeks turned red. She took a piece of bread and put some eggs on it and to my surprise, a lot of ketchup. God she’s my kind of girl. “Do you want some?” She handed it to me. I shook my head and she took a bite. “So? Are you gonna explain or are you just gonna watch me eat all day?” Her voice sounded a little irritated. She’s a chameleon that changes her mood so fast.

“Do you remember anything from last night?” I asked her as she took another bite of her sandwich.

“The last thing I remember was resting my head on the table.” She shrugged.

“I texted you goodnight and you called me. You thought I was your ex and said a bunch of stuff including how he should come and get you in that club.” I looked for signs of pain in her eyes. It was still there.

“I deleted his number but it’s etched in my brain. So after you said goodbye at the lab, I saved your number but with Nathan's name. Just in case I was gonna get wasted and drunk dial him like what I always used to do.” She sniffed and looked out the window. “But why did you come and get me?”

“Well, first of all my friends and I were at a nearby club and secondly, you sounded so helpless, I was afraid you’d get hurt or something.” I tried to look as composed as I could but in my mind, I'd already ripped off her clothes, her naked body bent over the table.

“Oh” It was all she could say. Lucille stopped eating and grabbed the orange juice.

"Well, when we found you on the couch sleeping, I tried to carry you but your friends stopped me. I explained to them who I was and you suddenly woke up and you shouted my name. You hugged me and said you were so happy to see your new friend. And because you suddenly seemed fine, all of us partied; we danced and you drank so much again. Kept telling me how  much you wanted to ---"

I stopped, not sure if I should tell her that she drunkenly told me she wanted to ride me all night. Lucille's eyes were wide with a mix of anticipation and fear, so I decided against it.

“To what?” she asked, her voice barely audible.

“To kill your ex." I lied.

"Oh. Good. I mean, I thought I said something embarrassing." She smiled and I continued.

"Then we were all dancing together when you suddenly fainted. Good thing I caught you and carried you out of there. Jade and Steph were wasted so Dylan and Sam took them home."

"Then why didn’t you take me to my place?” she asked, her eyes stealing glances at my body. Lucille acted all calm, but I could tell she wanted me too. She’s just too good of a girl.

“Don’t know where you live. And by the time I realized it, your friends had gone with mine.”

“Why didn’t we just go with them then?” she demanded.

“No way! I know Dylan and I don’t know about your friends, but by the way they were dancing and kissing with them..” I stopped, knowing she got the picture.

“Gross. Okay, okay." she held her hands up." Thanks, for taking me here and everything. You’re a true friend, Jas. I mean it.” She stared at me with those tantalizing eyes. I could get lost in them forever and be happy about it.

“Look, I’m gonna take a quick shower and then I can drive you home.” I stood up and walked toward my room pausing by the door. “Or if you want you’re more than welcome to join me. I’m sure after I fuck you, you’d finally get over what’s his name.”  I joked.

She laughed. “You really think you’re that good at sex, that I’m magically gonna forget six years worth of memories? I’m just curious.” Lucille stood up and put the glass and plates on the sink.

My inner demons scoffed. Damn, right I am!

I turned around and stopped only when I was inches from her face. I towered over her with my hands on either side of her head. Lucille looked at me with an arched eyebrow and  pursed lips, waiting for my answer.

I kissed her, tasting the sweet oranges on her lips before I broke off the kiss just as suddenly.

“Come and find out.” I took my boxers off and walked towards my room butt naked.
