Kerrigan dove down from the air at high speeds and reached the ground. He changed his tragectory with his a little wing adjustment and cut an arc across the air.

Blood sprayed as the eagle passed by and one of the invocates screamed.

I hadn't stopped moving all that while and I was able to get to the archer within the ranks of the invocates.

Kerrigan's attack blinded another one of the invocates and he screamed in terror. He probably didn't even know what had hit him even after the fact.

The invocates screams distracted all the rest and so they could only react slowly.

That gave me the prime chance that I needed.

I quickly reached the archer and raised my sword.

The invocates may have been momentarily distracted by the surprise attack, but that didn't take away their training from the church.

The archer spotted me coming after him with my sword. He drew his shirt sword to defend. I wasn't surprised that he had an emergency weapon lie that. It was protocol for archers t

I was thinking of the elves and how little was known about them when I heard the noise again. My thoughts stopped immediately and I looked in the direction the sound was coming from. Or rather the direction the sound had come from. The distinction was important because the noise had already ceased. My eyes narrowed as I stared in that direction. My shifter eyes allowed me to see clearly into the forest despite the low light. But even with that I didn’t see much of anything. The first time I heard the sound I immediately dismissed it as nothing. But a key characteristic to surviving in the wild was trusting your instincts. And I had already gotten a sense that something wasn’t right for the second time. The time I was sure that something was really wrong.I took a step forward towards the noise as the thinking gears in my head spun at high speeds.I turned back and saw the boy, Roman, resting against a tree and sleeping soundly. Phoenix decided that leave the boy behind because he knew

I got up from the the tree and looked deep into the forest.I stared for a few seconds but I didn't see or hear anything apart from the natural sounds of the forest like the chirping of birds and likewise.I let out an exasperated sigh. Not hearing any strange was completely normal. I had been a lone traveler for years and I was already used to moving through forests by myself. Being a shifter made it particularly easy and instinctual but also having a lot of experience helped a lot.Of course, it wasn't like I was on my own at the moment.I turned back and looked at a spot under a tree.A little boy lay there. He looked about ten years old and he had pitch black hair. He snored lightly as he slept. The boy definitely slept a lot.But that wasn't too strange. In fact, I kind of liked it. Not that I liked anything about my current situation of course. It was just that the boy sleeping could only be seen as an upgrade from when he was awake. When he was awake he had been pacing and movi

“Slow down.” I told the breathless Rowena. “What do you mean exactly?” I asked.I already had a very idea of what she was talking about, but it was so crazy that I just had to tell her to repeat herself. I had to be sure that I really heard what I heard.Rowena bent down to catch her breath some more. She had really pushed herself to get here. I was very surprised because I didn’t think she could do it in her current state. That just went to show how serious of a situation we were in.When I saw that Rowena was still having a hard time resting I went ahead to help her. Morning and Oisin still moved to help me.I wanted to get her to rest against a tree at first, but Orlaith made himself known by reminding us that he was there. That was also a very good solution, after all Morning told me how she had basically strapped Rowena and me to Orlaith when we were 'out of order'. I was confident Orlaith wouldn’t mind as he never did. The only person he ever actually showed any attitude to

The last invocate died and the battle field was quiet.I looked around and observed our handiwork. All seven invocates were now dead. There were no survivors. Even with the intense battle, none of us had sustained any injuries.Soon after the battle was over, Morning and Oisin came out of their hiding spots. I had instructed them to stay safe away from the battle and that was what they did.But they had also watched me.“Wow, those guys sure didn’t last long.” Oisin observed as he came out.I felt a little odd exposing Oisin to the bloody scene, because he looked like a thirteen years old boy. But who knew how Fae age worked? Even though he was obviously so young, I had sensed things from him that no thirteen hear old had.He looked at the bodies with wide eyes. “So they’re all dead right?” He asked. Somehow he was fascinated with death.I nodded my head. All of them were dead.Kerrigan flew down and landed on Oisin’s shoulder. The eagle stained Oisin’s shirt with blood sta

I knew that my only option was to keep moving forward, so that was exactly what I did.I went as fast as I could it wasn’t very fast, but it was definitely faster than when I had been going to the hunter camp.Somehow, even though I was moving faster the journey felt longer. I even started jogging at some point, but I had to slow down as my breathing became heavy. For the first time I really hated my current condition. I had only seen it as an unfortunate nuisance before. I knew that I would get better with time so I wasn’t very worried about anything. I had just been taking things as they were. If I could still use my nature magic, then things would have been extra easy especially in this mission. If not for that how could I be so defenseless in front of the hooded man. Things would have been very different right now. But I knew that u couldn’t practice nature magic at the moment, I didn’t beat myself up about it and I took it in stride like I had take everything since I got to the

  • MY SECOND-CHANCE MATE IS A WOLF HUNTER   CHAPTER 173: ROWENA

I waited till I was completely sure that the hunters were already far away from me.I could still remember the gun from the hooded man.Phoenix wasn’t aware of a weapon like that. Things were extremely bad.Phoenix wasn’t so careless that he would assume that none of the enemy had a weapon like a gun just because he didn’t see any indication of it before. After all it was normal for the hunters to have silver bullet carrying guns. But there was something else going on here. Some sinister plan and the hooded man was the master planner.I still didn’t fully understand what was going on I could still remember the hooded man’s words as clearly as if he said them again right in front of me.He has been talking as if he knew about Phoenix. But how was that possible?Ever since the first day, Phoenix had told me that the church was after him. We all knew actually. So he obviously took precautions to avoid being exposed so easily. Most of the time, when we attacked hunters like this
