The journey took just as long as it was expected to. But my army got to the destination unfazed. It was all within their capabilities based on stamina.

As we got close by, we camped in the forest. Since the beginning, the plan had always been to use the element of surprise to our advantage.

The Silverbrook pack was the first target. And they would be first to fall.

I stood in front of my generals. They had been hand picked by me and they mostly contained original members of the moonlight pack. Of course I mixed in a single member of the whiteclaw pack in for plausible deniability. So adding my beta, Fabian Hayden, who was also one of my generals there were two original members of whiteclaw.

The moonlight pack no longer existed officially, so if the subjects of my new pack found out that I was still thinking in terms of my former pack then it would be trouble.

I didn’t particularly look at Fabian as I came to give the final instructions. In all honesty, it would have saved me some st

I glanced at Morning multiple times during our short journey to get horses. After I tried talking to her the first time, she went quiet again.I wondered how long she would keep avoiding me.I knew that she lied to me when I asked her if anything was wrong. But I came to terms with that. I wasn’t perfect and as long as it wasn’t something that was immediately endangering her life, then the last thing I wanted to do was to force her to tell me what the problem was.But I noticed that she had a furrowed expression on her face through out the walk as if she was thinking deeply. And her lips would part slightly from time to time as if she was about to say something but she never said any words or even looked at me even.I felt exasperated. What exactly was going on with her that she didn’t want to tell? Stopping myself from trying to get her to tell me was taking a massive amount of will power. But I kept reminding myself that I didn’t want to force Morning to do anything in our relations

Looking at the scene in front of us after Phoenix’s announcement, one would have expected to see a grand city in front of us, rather all that was there was more forest. “The town is just after a few more trees. We aren’t walking in with a giant bear.” Phoenix elaborated. It sounded like we would do things similar to how we did it last time.“Things will be different this time around.” Phoenix explained. “We are only here for some horses then we go straight ahead to the capital. There is no need to directly pass through this town so most us would be staying behind.”That came as a slight surprise to me.“I only need one other person to follow me. We would be getting three horses. We have some money but it isn’t unlimited.” Phoenix explained.“Three horses? But there’s five of us.” Carter pointed out.“Should you really be encouraging us to spend more money when you want payment?” Rowena asked with amusement in her voice. “Besides I have Orlaith so I don’t need a horse.”“The rest of u

I opened my eyes and the first thing I saw was red.“Morning?” Phoenix called as his flaming red hair blower around in the morning wind.I sat up and touched my head. There was a slight ache.“What happened?” I asked as I looked around.“You don’t remember?” Phoenix asked as he squatted in front of me with a furrowed expression on his face.I shook my head.‘How can you forget so soon?’ A voice called from within me.My eyes widened as it all came back to me.Strong hands grabbed my shoulders. “Morning, are you okay?” Phoenix asked.I couldn’t let him know about this. Whatever was going on, I had to solve it myself. I already told Phoenix what happened to me in the past and he most like thought I was a broken girl. I didn’t want to further cement his opinion of me in that direction.“I’m okay. My head just hurts a little.” I lied, but I couldn’t meet Phoenix’s eyes.Phoenix’s grip on my shoulder relaxed. “Are you sure?” There was an undertone to his question. He didn’t real

Morning gave an excuse and quickly stood up from the midst of the campfire.I turned my gaze to her. Her eyes looked extremely distressed and she looked like she couldn’t focus on anything.I had also noticed just how restless she was all the while it took us to get here. Something was definitely up with her but she didn’t seem to want to tell me what.It actually hurt me. I thought we were past the point where we kept secrets from each other. But then again could I really complain. I knew that I also hadn’t told her the whole truth about me. I intended to, but I would rather we get over all of this first. That was why we were heading directly for the capital city now. I was finally ready to face my father however I could. Once I was done with him, then maybe Morning and I could really enjoy or time together. I had never felt like this before, but I knew that the attraction I felt to her was more powerful than I could imagine.Usually, I would have left her to sort her stuff out. If s

I was facing the wall and trying my best to push past it, yet it remained solid.Everything that happened defied logic. How was it even possible to be in a room without doors. My mind hadn’t settled before I heard the voice from behind me.I immediately jumped and turned back at the same time. My eyes were wide as I stared at the direction the voice had come from. There was a large white wolf standing in front of me. Or standing wasn’t the right word, since it was on all fours. It’s eyes were hooded and red and they focused on me. It looked like a wolf ready to hunt it’s prey.“Who are you!” I screamed as I saw the horrific sight. I had never felt so weak standing in front of anything before. I knew that this creature could rip me to shreds in under a second if it ever felt the need to do so. Not even the dagger that Phoenix had given me would help in this situation.I ran myself up against the black wall but there was no where to go. I felt my heart beat sky rocket as I stared into t

“It’s delicious.” Oisin said with an excited voice as he bit into the small piece of meat.“I can never quite get used to it too.” Rowena said as she also took her own bite.Phoenix had caught some rabbits after we made camp and he cooked them over a spit. He also has some seasoning with him that help with the taste. It was just as delicious as the Fae acclaimed. But I couldn’t fully enjoy it. Rather my mind was restless with anticipation and worry. What if I found out that there was something seriously wrong with me and there wasn’t any solution?“Shouldn’t you be vegetarians?” Carter asked as he also bit into the meat. He hadn’t offered any compliments to Phoenix who was currently disassembling the fire, but the smile on his face told everyone that he also enjoyed the food.“You are meant to be nature loving and respectful to all animals right?” Carter doubled down, genuine curiosity evident in his voice as he addressed Rowena.“Where did you get that idea?” Rowena asked.“I heard i
