Gianna's POV

Every bone in my body ached as I finally sank into my chair. I'd been running around all day, playing hostess to Mr. Locan's important visitor while he was off gallivanting, God knows where. Ms. Gada, ever the voice of reason, had told me to just handle things, saying that if we waited for that Francis, our guest would be napping from boredom. Seriously, where had that guy disappeared to? And why was his phone conveniently dead?

Here I was, stuck in his ridiculously lavish office, craving a long, luxurious break. I was beyond exhausted, and frankly, I didn't give a damn if he threw a hissy fit about it; I was sprawled out on his ridiculously expensive sofa. I just wanted to go home, binge-watch something mindless, and sleep for a week, but no, I had to wait for him to grace us with his presence. It was almost eight o'clock, for crying out loud. Maybe I should just bail. But Ms. Gada had been so insistent: He'll be back, Gianna. Just wait for him. But when? Halley's Comet

  • MY SECRETARY HATES ME? [ ENGLISH VER. ]    CHAPTER 8

"No! That's not true!" he roared, his voice echoing in the sudden silence."Ouch! Hey, what the hell? Let go of me!" I yelped, stumbling backward as he released my shoulders."That hurt, you know!" I snapped, finally losing my cool. My neck was throbbing from his violent shaking, and my shoulders ached from the force of his grip. Ugh, men. He gets drunk and turns into a toddler. He fell silent, his gaze fixed on me, his expression a confusing mix of anger and vulnerability. Then, without warning, he started to wail again, the sound pitiful and grating. What was with this guy? Panicked, I instinctively stepped forward and wrapped my arms around him. "She doesn't want me, you don't want me, nobody wants me!" he sobbed, burying his face in my shoulder. "There, there... it's okay," I murmured, patting his back awkwardly, but it was like trying to soothe a hurricane."Look, how about I call Ms. Gada and have her take you home? You're clearly in no condition to get there on your own," I sug

  • MY SECRETARY HATES ME? [ ENGLISH VER. ]    CHAPTER 6

(Present Time)A ragged sigh escaped my lips, the throbbing in my head, a constant reminder of the accident, threatening to split open with the sheer force of my thoughts. I shifted in my chair, trying to find a position that offered some semblance of comfort, when my phone buzzed insistently on the desk. It was Carl."Yeah?" I answered, my voice tight, bracing myself for whatever news he had to share."He's back," Carl's voice was low, almost a whisper, a thread of caution woven into his tone. I straightened, my muscles tensing, then leaned back against the cool leather of my chair, the silence stretching between us."And he's with someone," the words resonated in my mind, a cold dread settling in my stomach, a premonition of the pain to come. "What do you mean?" I pressed, my throat suddenly dry, the question barely audible. A beat of silence stretched between us before he finally spoke, the weight of his words palpable."Akeshia is back."The words hit me with the force of a physic

(A Day Prior)Francis's POVA brutal throb behind my eyes ripped me from the depths of unconsciousness. I groaned, instantly recognizing the sterile scent and dull ache that signaled a hospital room. "You're awake." The voice, familiar and laced with concern, drew my gaze to the doorway. Carl, my cousin and closest confidant, entered, his face etched with worry. He rushed to my side, helping me adjust against the pillows, and it was then that I registered the thick, sterile bandage wrapped around my head. A silent question formed in my mind."What happened?" I asked, my voice raspy and strained."Don't you remember anything? You were in a car accident," Carl replied, his brow furrowed with a deep crease of worry. I squeezed my eyes shut, attempting to summon the memories, but the effort only intensified the pounding in my skull. Fragments flickered – rain, blinding headlights, a sudden, sharp pain – but they remained disconnected, elusive."I... I don't remember anything," I confessed

  • MY SECRETARY HATES ME? [ ENGLISH VER. ]    CHAPTER 4

It was only my first day, but Mr. Locan had already managed to bury me under an avalanche of work. I was practically a yo-yo, bouncing back and forth between the first floor and his penthouse office on the thirtieth, all for the sake of fetching him coffee. If I didn't desperately need this job, I wouldn't have tolerated being bossed around by that… jerk. Did he actually think that just because I was following his ridiculous orders, I'd forgotten his behavior on the jeepney? Not a chance. "You need to familiarize yourself with these files," he said, his attention glued to his laptop screen. "Memorize their names and faces. They'll be joining us for the meeting next week." I had to take two long strides just to reach the folder he slid across the desk. He was dead serious about that one-meter rule, starting today. Unbelievable! "Yes, Sir," I replied, my voice tight with suppressed annoyance. He didn't even bother to look up from his screen. A few minutes later, he took a long sip of
