Chapter 3
Tanya’s POV I'm Tanya Snow. I’m also an assassin/agent. While I was working out, my private phone suddenly rang. I quickly grabbed it and checked who was calling. When I saw it was Ana’s number, I immediately answered while wiping the sweat off my face. "Hel—" I hadn't even finished my greeting when the person on the other line spoke. "Mommy said you should call her later after this call, Ninang," said Baby Enno, without a hint of emotion. ‘This kid is always so cold when talking to others. But when he's bonding with his mom and sister, he’s incredibly sweet,’ I thought to myself, raising an eyebrow. "Okay, I'll call h—" I couldn’t even finish what I was saying because he had already hung up. I could only shake my head at what happened. But I couldn’t help but wonder why Ana wanted me to call her, so I quickly went to the bathroom to take a shower. Afterward, I grabbed my phone to call Ana back. After four rings, someone answered—but it wasn’t Ana. I wasn’t sure if it was Enna or Enno who pressed the answer button. But then I heard a child call for their mother, and I knew by the voice that it was Enno telling Ana that Ninang Tanya was calling. Before I could even speak, Ana answered. "Hello, Tanya," Ana said in a serious tone. Whenever she sounded like this, it meant something serious was happening, so I needed to get serious too. "Hello too, Ana! Why did you want me to call you?" I asked, my curiosity kicking in. "I have an important task for you," she said, making me even more intrigued. "Say it!" I urged her, not liking being kept in suspense. "Find out when the general meeting is at one of my companies," she instructed. ‘I have a feeling she’s talking about the AC Company,’ I thought. "Which company exactly, Ana? You have so many, I can't figure out which one," I said, though I already had an idea. "The AC Company." ‘I knew it. She must have caught wind that something shady is happening inside her company,’ I added in my mind. "Oh! Perfect timing because there's actually a shareholder meeting soon. And guess what? There's a rumor going around—you probably haven't heard it yet—that someone wants to take you down and remove you from your own company. I also heard that Mr. Mercado wants to become CEO since they claim they've never even seen the CEO in person—which is you, because you always send a secretary to meetings and important business deals," I explained to her. "Be ready, we’re going to bring them down this year," Ana said with a hint of amusement. I smiled because, finally, I was going home to the Philippines. I already knew what was happening in her company, but I still needed to gather solid evidence so that Mr. Mercado couldn't get away with his crimes. "Ohhh, I love it! So, same plan as before?" I asked with a grin. "Yes! Let’s surprise them. Let's see if they won’t tremble with fear when they find out who actually owns the company they’re trying to take down. I’ll send you files—study them and prepare a full report," she instructed. "Okey dokey! Anything else you want me to do?" I asked. "Nothing else! Bye, Tanya," she said, ending the call. "Bye!" I replied and was about to hang up when Ana suddenly spoke again, catching me off guard. "Wait, Tanya. I know I’ve never properly thanked you. But I just want to say thank you—for always being by my side. Even after I left my old job in the organization, you and the others never abandoned me. Thank you again," she said, then hung up. I shivered a bit hearing her gratitude. If Black 01 a.k.a. Sky and Agent P heard her right now, they’d probably go crazy from shock. A few minutes later, the files Ana mentioned arrived. I immediately studied them and saw that a huge amount of money was missing—and there was only one culprit: Mr. Mercado. I raised an eyebrow and said with a smile, "Tsk! Poor fool," thinking they must have believed they could easily defeat Anastasia Clinton. They couldn’t be more wrong. I went to bed early so I could wake up early to pick them up. I was excited to see the twins. Before I knew it, my alarm clock went off, so I hurried to get up, showered quickly, got dressed, and packed all the evidence I gathered. "Rinnnngggg!" my phone rang, and I immediately answered. "Hello!" I greeted. "Miss Snow, the car is ready," said the voice on the other line. "Oh, thank you!" I replied. "You're welcome, Miss Snow," they answered. I went downstairs and headed to the car where my driver was waiting. "Good morning, Manong," I greeted him. He had been my personal driver for a long time. Like me, he was also Filipino. I found him wandering the streets after escaping from an illegal agency that almost trapped him. "Good morning too, iha," he said, opening the car door for me. "Thank you, Manong," I said gratefully. "No problem. Alright, let’s get going," he said, starting the engine. "Yes, Manong. By the way, you’ll be coming with us when we leave today. We’re going home to the Philippines, and you’ll finally get to spend time with your family. We’ll also stop by your place to get your things. Is that okay with you?" I asked. "Thank you so much, iha. At last, I’ll be able to see my family again. I’ve missed them terribly," he said emotionally. "It’s nothing, Manong. I’m just happy I could bring you a little joy," I said with a smile.Chapter 79EARLY MORNING: I woke up early to get things ready. I got up and went to the bathroom slowly because the doctor forbade me from straining my body. So I moved carefully to wash my face and brush my teeth.Afterward, I immediately called a nurse to help me get dressed properly, as my wound was still a little sore from yesterday's exertion. A nurse arrived and gave me medicine to relieve the pain. Even though my wound was still fresh, I didn't mind because getting my wife and children back was more important.I immediately told my staff that we were leaving to go to the GEMELLI PALAZZESE RESTAURANT.Our trip wasn't long; we arrived at the restaurant quickly. It was trending because of my chefs' antics, which made it popular. Upon arrival, I told the employees that when my wife and children arrived, they should act like ordinary customers and serve them well. I had my chef cook their three favorite dishes. They needed to be served when they arrived in the VIP room so that the t
Chapter 78"Are you alright, son?" my father asked as I woke up. I looked around and my gaze fell on the wall clock.'It's already 6 pm,' I thought."Water, please, Dad!" I said."Just a moment, I'll get some," he immediately left my side, so I slowly got up. I winced in pain in my chest."Don't move too suddenly, you need to rest," my dad said, handing me the water.I immediately drank it and gave him back the glass."Dad!" I called out, causing him to stop his pacing and turn to me. "I want to see my wife and children," I said. But he sighed and spoke."Hay! They're not here anymore. After what she witnessed, she and your twins decided to leave the country to protect the children. There was nothing I could do, so I respected her decision, son!" I sat up straight because of what my father said.I was about to stand up when he stopped me."Don't stand up yet, son! You might reopen your wounds," he said, but I wouldn't be stopped because I didn't want to lose them again; it would kill
Chapter 77Dave's POV"Where am I?" I asked myself as I walked down a dark path, unable to see a single light. Then I heard a voice, my mother's voice, as if she was calling me. So I quickened my pace down the dark path. I smiled when I saw a light ahead, and that's where my mother's voice came from. As I approached, my steps grew heavier and heavier as I walked towards the light, until I reached it and saw my mother playing with a young boy who had a smile on his face. But when I blinked, it suddenly disappeared. What I saw was different. It wasn't my mother anymore, but a woman in uniform who looked like she was studying at a university."Anastasia!" a man called out. But I was confused by what I saw because that man was me. "My love!" he called again. Then she turned towards me with a smile, even giving a flying kiss and waving."She's beautiful, isn't she, son?" I turned to the person speaking beside me."Mom!" I said, hugging her tightly. "I miss you so much, Mom!" I said, tears
Chapter 76I quickly invited them inside, while Viña said she wanted to go home first, so I just let her.THE NEXT DAY.The following day, I immediately prepared the twins because they were the ones who would attend the meeting in my place. In fact, they were even more excited than I was. I wasn’t sure if they could explain everything clearly enough to gain trust and close the deals.“Are you ready, Twins?” I asked them.“Yes, Mommy!” Xenna answered enthusiastically. Xenno, however, I couldn't tell if he was nervous or not—he had no expression on his face. His aura was serious, just like his father whenever he had something important to do.I suddenly missed him. It had only been two days, yet I already missed him so much.“I wonder how he is now…” I whispered to myself.“Let’s go, Mom,” Xenno said, snapping me back to reality. We immediately left the hotel and headed to a trending restaurant that our meeting partner had requested. I flagged down a vehicle and instructed the driver wh
Chapter 75Who wouldn’t want to give a reward when they're this sweet and affectionate? All the fatigue disappears when they’re the ones welcoming you home from work."The twins are so sweet and affectionate," I told the two of them. "By the way, twins, I have a business trip to Italy tomorrow," I added."Cuántas semanas llevas ahí mamá?" ("How many weeks will you be there, Mom?") Xenno asked. "Rest first, Mommy, put rest first because we just arrived from the Philippines yesterday," he added."Kuya is right, Mommy. You need to rest first. The twins will take care of your business trip," Xenna told me."Please trust me and the twins, Mommy. We’ll make sure to close the deal immediately. So trust us with the twins," Xenno added. "So you can rest. We don’t want you to get sick, Mommy."I smiled at what Xenno said. "Twins, Mommy will never get tired, because the ones who always give me strength are you and your twin," I told them. "So Mommy gets stronger because you two are always by my
Chapter 74 I didn’t prolong our meeting. I quickly discussed everything we needed to tackle.“La reunión ha terminado, puedes irte.” ("The meeting is over, you may leave.") I told everyone."Viña, por favor toma mis cosas y llévalas a mi oficina," ("Viña, please take my things and bring them to my office,") I ordered her."La sigo señora." ("Yes, Madam.")I left the conference room ahead of them and went to my office to review the documents I needed to sign. While entering the elevator, I noticed a janitress clutching her stomach, clearly in pain. I immediately approached her."Señora! ¿Estás bien?" ("Ma’am! Are you okay?") I asked, but she didn’t respond. Suddenly, she collapsed, and thankfully, I caught her in time. I quickly checked her pulse, relieved to find it still beating. Then I saw Viña carrying my things and called out to her,"Ven aquí, date prisa," ("Viña! Come here, hurry.") She quickly came to where I was."Llama al Departamento de Salud y envíalos a ver cómo está la m
