Chapter 2

Jocelyn gritted her teeth harshly. She clenched her hands so hard that her palms were almost bleeding.

However, she still made the tough decision to turn around and return to the suite next door.

How badly did she want to rush in to rip this scumbag and treacherous woman apart!

However, her final strand of logic told her that she could not do so!

She could not act rashly. She was still working as a designer in Oasis Jewelry, which belonged to Howard. Not only did Howard betray their relationship, but he also kept her in the dark about it and used her as Lily’s stepping stone.

She hated him because of how he had betrayed her in terms of both their relationship and her career. She could not let him go that easily.

She wanted to take revenge. She wanted to take back everything that belonged to her. She wanted to throw both of these scumbags to h*ll and make them pay twofold for what they have done to her!

Also, she had to come up with an idea to deal with her father. She could not do things emotionally. Otherwise, her uncle would go bankrupt!

The next morning, Jocelyn woke up with dark circles under her eyes.

She stayed in the room. As soon as she heard the sounds of Howard and Lily leaving, she followed them as well.

Jocelyn followed them all the way to the Civil Affairs Bureau of the district that they were in. She then got down her car with a sneer on her face while she snapped a photo of them holding hands as they walked into the Civil Affairs Bureau.

As soon as both of them stepped into the Civil Affairs Bureau, Jocelyn dialed Howard’s number.

“Howard, where are you?” Jocelyn started making an audio recording as soon as Howard picked up the call.

“Ah…I…Something urgent came up at the company. I left early in the morning. I didn’t have time to tell you about it!”

A sarcastic smile formed on Jocelyn’s face as she remarked, “Really? I thought that you were having an affair with another woman behind my back!”

Howard’s voice grew slightly stiff as he laughed drily. “How can that be?! You’ve always been the love of my life, Jocelyn. Right, I forgot to ask you if you could give your latest jewelry design draft to Lily.”

“Didn’t Lily just finish participating in the municipal jewelry competition? Why does she need another design draft?” Jocelyn asked expressionlessly.

“Well, Lily is participating in the Century Jewelry Competition, which will be held by Prosperity Group the day after next. It’s one of the paths that lead to the World Jewelry Competition. It’s extremely important to her. She remains unsatisfied even after drawing many design drafts. She likes your designs a lot. See if you can…”

Hah, how shameless!

Howard was the only one that was capable of asking her for her design drafts so confidently while he was getting a marriage certificate with another woman!

She had been extremely foolish for giving so many design drafts to Lily and building the foundation of her career for her over the past two years.

Jocelyn took in a deep breath. It was not time to expose him yet. “I really like that design draft too. It’s my work!”

“Jocelyn, how can you be so petty? It’s an important period for Lily since her career is on the rise right now. She really needs our help. Meanwhile, you have me. Once we get married, you can stay at home and be a full-time housewife. Why would you need these titles? The whole of Oasis Jewelry will belong to you!”

Jocelyn tried her best to remain calm. She then said, “Alright, I’ll listen to you and help her out!”

Jocelyn hung up on the call and sent the photos that she had just taken to some reporters that she knew well.

Howard’s side profile could clearly be seen in the photo.

Everyone knew that Jocelyn was Howard’s girlfriend. Although only the back of the woman in the photograph could be seen, her body nor hair color resembled Jocelyn at all.

She wanted to see how Howard would respond to the reporters’ questions!

How would he explain things to her?

She would help Lily spread her name throughout Mauve City!

Howard did not notice Jocelyn’s burning hatred through the phone call.

Jocelyn lowered her head and prepared to leave.

She was still thinking about how she could stop her father from forcing her to marry the second young master of the Jones family without involving her uncle in this matter.

She collided with a man’s body as soon as she turned around.

The man was tall and sturdy. He was dressed in a hand-sewn tailor-made business suit, which hugged his sturdy and strong figure nicely.

Jocelyn raised her head. She caught sight of the natural thick brows, high nose bridge, sexy lips, and delicate facial features on the man’s face. The sharp and strong features of his icy face made him look so handsome that it was hard for one to move their gaze away from him.

He frowned and glanced at Jocelyn, who was shocked by his sharp gaze.

Those starry eyes filled with a sense of iciness and distance.

It was…Skyler Moore.

Did he also come to the Civil Affairs Bureau to…get married?

Jocelyn simply found it unbelievable. Skyler Moore was the most eligible bachelor in Mauve City.

He was the CEO of Prosperity Jewelry and the king of the jewelry industry. He was the gatekeeper of all jewelry designers who wanted to enter the World Jewelry Competition.

Jocelyn had once looked at this man once from a distance away at a jewelry gala.

Skyler turned around to look at his assistant. “Where did she go?” He asked coldly.

His assistant trembled as he said, “Miss Sonnet… She just arrived at the airport and booked the latest flight to F Country. She said that there’s an urgent matter that she needs to settle over there! I just received the news about her boarding the plane!”

After hearing what she said, Skyler’s aura grew heavier as he asked, “When will she be back?”

The assistant wished that he could stuff his own head into his collar. “I…I heard that she’ll only be back after a year!”

Skyler’s aura instantly turned as icy as frost. He sneered loudly and said, “This is the third time. I won’t give her the fourth chance to stand me up. Just get me any woman so that we can get a marriage certificate!”

After Skyler finished speaking, he trod toward the entrance of the Civil Affairs Bureau.

Nobody had ever dared to treat Skyler that way. Even if he cared for that woman, he would not allow her to act just as she wished!

Jocelyn was stunned. Did he get dumped just like her?

She suddenly recalled that the jewelry competition that Lily wanted to participate in next was organized by Prosperity Jewelry.

Besides, she would be on bad terms with Oasis Jewelry sooner or later if she wanted to take revenge on Howard Jung. Why should she not give herself a way out?

She was not an impulsive fool who goes to a battlefield alone!

Besides, she still could not think of any way to stop her father from forcing her to marry the second young master of the Jones family using her uncle as a threat.

However, she did not think that her father would force her to marry someone else if she got married to the man before her eyes right now!

Jocelyn’s gaze flashed slightly as she made a decision.

She gritted her teeth. She wondered what gave her the courage to walk forward and exclaim, “President Moore, since we’re both facing the same situation, why don’t we…get a marriage certificate?”
