Chapter 20

Maddox's POV

I groan as I slowly wake again. This time I don't feel drugged and so sleepy. But I feel strange and different.

I open my eyes and look around, I don't recognize my surroundings at all. I quickly look up and again see that I'm hanging from the ceiling with my arms wide open. I go to move my legs and can't, I quickly look down to see my legs are attached to chains keeping them wide open.

I also realize I'm naked and quickly look to my chest for my crystal and see it's gone and my stomach drops.

I quickly start searching for my powers, I closed my eyes and focus on my core as I dig deep. I panic when I don't feel it, I don't feel it at all, nothing it's an empty void.

My eyes snap open when I hear someone laugh.

"Yeah that's not going to work anymore!"

I hear someone say but I can't see them. The light is so bright where I'm at and they're standing in the dark.

"Who's there? Come out and show yourself you fucker!"

I watch as a man I don't know steps into the light laughing.
