Maddox's POV

I linked Xander on my way back to my office telling him to keep all unmated males away from the pack house and went straight to my office and locking myself in.

Thankfully my office was empty, I rest myself against the door and slid down. dropping my head in my arms as I folded them over my knees.

After a few minutes I suddenly realized I'm not sure if I brought what I need for today with me. I jumped up and ran to my desk, yanking the bottom right drawer open. I felt relief flood me when I saw the box sitting in there.

I pulled the box out, pulling the lid open and see several syringes sitting in there. I pulled one out and rolled it between my fingers as I look at the poison that I have to put in my body as soon as I start feeling the effects of their heat. It's the only way I can get through it without going to them. I Have to inject myself with a mixture that includes wolfsbane.
