Chapter 27 - The Wolf in the Room

Noah's POV…

I sat quietly at the long dining table, my plate nearly empty except for a few untouched scraps. The food was warm, rich, and honestly really good, but my appetite still hadn't fully come back. Across from me, Enzo just sat there, elbow propped on the table, cheek resting against his knuckles, his gaze fixed on me like I was some sort of puzzle he was trying to figure out. That small, amused smile hadn’t left his face the whole time I’d been eating.

I paused, wiping my mouth with a napkin. “Aren’t you going to eat anything?” I asked, raising an eyebrow at him.

He shrugged, his smile widening. “Watching you eat is filling enough.”

I blinked, caught off guard. My first instinct was to roll my eyes, but instead, I chuckled. I didn’t even know why. Maybe it was the way he said it, or maybe it was how relaxed he looked despite everything. Either way, I found myself smiling back at him.

Weird.

I hadn’t expected that.

After finishing my meal, I s

Chapter 29: Tension in the HallsNoah’s POV…It had been a month. A whole month since my dad gave me away to pay off his debt. A month since I stopped being a regular teenager and became… whatever this is.I sat in my classroom, hunched over my desk with my hoodie pulled halfway over my head. The place was noisy like always—the guys whispering, papers shuffling, someone smacking gum behind me—but I felt distant from it all. Disconnected.I used to be part of this world, this normal one, and now? I wasn’t sure where I belonged anymore. I hadn’t heard from my dad. Not a single message. Not a call. Nothing.Honestly, I didn’t even know if I wanted to hear from him.I sighed and tried to focus on the open notebook in front of me, pretending I was doing something productive. My pen tapped mindlessly against the page. I wasn’t writing—I was barely thinking. Then I felt it.A presence.Familiar.I didn’t even need to look. I already knew it was James. He always had this gentle way of sneakin

Chapter 28: Wolf and DreamNoah POV…I slowly reached out, my fingers lightly brushing against the thick fur. It was warm. Soft. Real. I sat there, staring at the wolf that used to terrify me, and now… I couldn't believe how calm I felt just touching him.I smiled, surprised at myself. Was I really sitting here petting a werewolf like it was no big deal? A few days ago, I would’ve run away screaming. But now, the fear was gone, replaced by something I didn’t quite understand.Enzo—Moses—lay still, his massive form curled beside me. His fur shifted gently with each breath, rising and falling. I slowly leaned against him, resting my head on his side. He let out a soft sound, almost like a sigh, and settled further into the floor. It felt safe. Peaceful.I didn’t speak. I didn’t need to. For the first time since being taken from everything I knew, I wasn’t afraid. I let my eyes close, and the warmth of his body lulled me. My fingers brushed through the fur at his neck. I didn’t know how

Chapter 26: Unraveling ShadowsDean's POV…I sat on the edge of my bed, Stan’s head resting lazily on my shoulder as if we didn’t have a whole war waiting outside the door. The room was a little dark, just the way I liked it, the curtains drawn shut to block out the morning light. My phone buzzed, a faint notification lighting up the screen. I didn’t even bother to check it. Instead, I chuckled to myself. Quiet moments like this never lasted long in my world. The bedroom door creaked open. I didn’t look up. “If you’re here to talk about the same thing again, you better make it worth my time,” I said casually. “We had a deal. Or are you already unhappy with it?”The man who stepped in didn’t answer right away. His steps were deliberate, his presence heavy. He walked deeper into the room, the tension following him like a storm cloud. Stan didn’t stir—he was used to these visits by now.I finally looked up. His face was tight, controlled, but there was something simmering beneath the sur

Chapter 25: A Moment of QuietEnzo POV…I walked back into the mansion, ignoring the guards who bowed slightly as I passed. My boots echoed against the marble floor, but I barely noticed. My head was pounding with thoughts—all of them about Dean. About what he was planning. About Noah.I shut the office door behind me and sank into my chair. I stared at the stack of reports on my desk, but I couldn’t focus on a single word. Dean's smirk from earlier was burned into my memory. The way he stood in front of the entire council, taunting me. Acting like I wasn't capable of keeping control. Like he knew something I didn’t.My hands clenched into fists. My wolf was restless, pacing just beneath my skin. He wanted to go out, to find Dean, to rip him apart for the games he was playing. I could feel the pressure building in my chest, the way my vision edged with red the longer I sat still.I didn’t realize I was tapping the desk until Ren spoke."You're worked up," he said from where he stood b

Chapter 24: The Alpha's StandEnzo's POV…I sat at the head of the long, stone-carved council table, my fingers drumming rhythmically against the wood. Every seat in the chamber was filled—elders, high-ranking alphas, pack leaders from the surrounding clans. They all sat stiffly, glancing between one another, waiting for someone else to speak first. The silence wasn't just awkward, it was heavy, suffocating, like the calm before a war.Ren stood quietly behind me, his presence steady as always. He didn’t say a word. Didn’t need to. His silence spoke volumes. I could feel the judgment in the air. Whispers had reached their ears, and now they wanted answers.I leaned forward, both elbows on the table, and looked around at each face until I landed on the elder sitting directly across from me. "If anyone has something to say, then say it. Your silence is worse than the rumors."Finally, Elder Marus stood, clearing his throat. His long grey beard trembled slightly as he spoke, trying to ke
