"Hello, Madam. This is Jeff Brody calling you, Damian Tucker's assistant," Jeff said, sitting on a couch in the exquisite living room of Damian's mansion.
"Yes... how may I help you?" Lady Jennifer asked nervously, her heartbeat skyrocketing.
"Calm down, Madam. My boss is trying to see how to make his payment easier and if you will accept his other proposals," Jeff said, paying attention to the call.
"Other proposals like what?" Lady Jennifer asked, and he responded, "A contract marriage with one of your two daughters in exchange for the debt your husband owes us."
"What?! Which of my daughters is that? Or should I present any of them to you?" Lady Jennifer asked. Meanwhile, Alicia and Samantha looked at their mother in shock, wondering what her conversation with Damian's man was about.
"Calm down, Madam. My boss wants your younger daughter, Alicia Dawson. Kindly inform her to be available for pick-up tomorrow. I will come around to take her," Jeff concluded, and Lady Jennifer was stunned.
"Alicia?" She repeated her daughter's name as if she had heard it incorrectly.
"Yes. My boss is interested in her, and if she can accept his offer, maybe you won't need to pay your husband's debt again."
"Wait... You mean Alicia, or Samantha? Samantha was even offering to become Damian's woman now, but I don't know if your boss would like to accept that in exchange for the debt my husband owes him."
"Listen carefully, Madam. I have other work to attend to tonight. Kindly inform your second daughter, Alicia Dawson, to prepare herself. Unless you have the 10 million dollars to pay off the debt, she should be prepared to meet with my boss tomorrow. Take care, Madam. Goodnight." The phone call ended, and Lady Jennifer stared into space.
"Mom, what just happened? What did Damian's man say?" Samantha first asked their mother, standing in front of her.
Lady Jennifer was still seated on the black couch in the living room. She looked at her three children, from Caden to Samantha, and finally to Alicia, who was looking at her worriedly.
"Mom, what did Damian's man say to you?" Alicia finally asked her mother. She could feel her own heart beating loudly, especially after her mother inquired about her.
Lady Jennifer took a deep breath and said, "Alicia, Damian wants you."
"What? No, Mother. I cannot have anything to do with him. Didn't you tell them that I am in a serious relationship?" Alicia quickly refuted, and her mother sighed.
"I tried to explain to the man, but he cut me off and said that you should make yourself available by tomorrow morning, and he would be here to pick you up," Lady Jennifer replied, looking at her last child worriedly, but Alicia snapped. "I cannot have anything to do with that monster. So you better call the number right now and tell him that I am not interested."
"Alicia, calm down," Lady Jennifer tried to speak, but Alicia yelled, "No one should tell me to calm down. I told you to accept Jonathan's offer to help us, but you refused. You refused because of a mafia boss. Mom, I will not accept anything from them, not even for a one-night stand with him. Excuse me."
Alicia walked away from the living room, going upstairs, and her mother stood up from the couch and called her back, "Come back here, Alicia. I am not done talking to you, and don't you dare walk out on me."
Alicia paused by the stairs and sighed, her fists clenched, and her fingernails dug into her palms.
"So you think that I want to have anything to do with Damian. But you should think about your father and know that he sacrificed a lot to give us a better life, and this is just the least you can do to help him," Lady Jennifer said, as she tried to walk to meet her last child.
"No way, Mother. I will not do it. I will rather wait until Jonathan raises the money," Alicia replied, not caring to look back at her mother, tears falling from her eyes.
"I will never trade my body to a beast in exchange for Dad's freedom. Excuse me." Alicia hastily went upstairs to her room, not waiting to hear her mother out again.
"Why me?" Alicia asked herself as she entered her bedroom and slammed the door. "Why must Damian choose me? That ruthless man!" Alicia cried aloud, and her mother and siblings could hear her agonizing sobs.
"Alicia, open this door!" Lady Jennifer pounded on the door of her youngest daughter's room, but Alicia refused to open up.
"Go away, Mom. You don't care about me, my happiness, or what I want. You only care about my Father, so leave me alone," Alicia cried, and her mother sighed.
"Alicia, open up. I can follow you tomorrow to see Damian and maybe offer myself to him," Samantha said. She thought about the good life she would live as Damian Tucker's woman. His name alone was law in their state, and most of the elite feared him. Samantha so much wanted to climb that ladder of wealth, power, and dominance, and Damian Tucker was just the right person to help her achieve her goals.
"All of you should leave me alone!. I don't want to see you all tonight, and I am not going to see that beast tomorrow either. Stay away from me!" Alicia went to her bed, crying. She thought about informing Jonathan, but she knew that Jonathan wouldn't even agree.
'A contract marriage with my boss,' Alicia recalled what the caller had said to her mother.
'My boss wants your daughter, Alicia. Not Samantha.'
Alicia recalled how Damian had looked at her when he arrived to take her father away. The way his deep blue eyes had held her, locking with hers. She quickly looked away from him, trembling as she clutched her mother for fear of being taken away.
"I cannot marry Damian. Never, and I am not going to see him tomorrow either," Alicia affirmed on her bed, and her phone rang. She thought it was her mother calling her, and she made no attempt to answer the call.
Alicia stepped down from her bed and went to her bathroom to have a quick bath and relax her tense mood. She had a clinic duty the following morning, and she didn't want to appear at work with a swollen face, so she hurried with her bath and finally came out of the bathroom.
She stepped into her bedroom and heard her phone ringing again. She went to the drawer to pick it up and switch it off. But her heart flew to her lungs when she saw seven missed calls from Jonathan.
"Oh my God! John might think that I am avoiding him!" Alicia immediately placed a call back to Jonathan, as she assumed before that her mother or sister were the ones calling her.
"Hello, babe," Alicia sounded nervously on the call.
"Babe, I called your number, and you weren't answering," Jonathan said, sighing. He was at home in his new house, and Alicia apologized to him, "I am sorry, John."
"What happened, babe? Why is your voice still sad? Is it because of your father's debt? I promise you that I am going to try and raise the money to pay off that bastard. Please, trust me and don't hurt yourself," Jonathan said with concern and all honesty.
"I know, just that..." Alicia's voice trailed off as she didn't know whether to tell Jonathan the truth.
"What's wrong, babe?" he asked her, and she hesitated to tell him what the problem was.
"It's nothing. I will come and see you tomorrow after work," Alicia said, still finding it hard to explain the reason to him.
"It's alright. Have a sound sleep and goodnight," Jonathan told her, and she replied, "You too, my love. Good night too."
The phone call ended, and Alicia sighed again. A knock on her bedroom door caught her attention, and she moved over to the door to see who it was.
Pulling her bedroom door open, Alicia came face to face with her mother.
"Mom, what do you want?" Her expression was stern as she asked her mother.
"Alicia, I know that you're angry with the new development. But Damian promised to let us go and not hurt your father if you agree to marry him," Alicia's mother told her, but she shook her head in rejection.
"Mom, I cannot do that. I have a boyfriend," she said, shaking her head in refusal.
"Then you break up with him," Lady Jennifer replied with a cold voice, standing by her daughter's room door.
"What? How can you tell me to do that, Mom? Did you ever love someone before, or was that how you broke up with your ex and got married to Dad?" Alicia's question made her mother's expression stern.
"Alicia, you don't speak to me in such an insolent manner. You have no idea what I went through to give you and your siblings a better life. Only this simple sacrifice from you, and you're beating about the bush," Lady Jennifer retorted.
"But, Mom, I cannot do it. Just let me be for tonight." Alicia went back into her bedroom and closed her door in her mother's face.
Lady Jennifer sighed and decided to give her younger daughter time to think about it for the night.
Damian entered his living room on the first floor, and the faint scent of citrus caught his nostrils. He raised his gaze and met the eyes of the woman that he admired the most. He knew that he had ignored her the last time and drove away. But he had not expected her to sit waiting for his return.Alicia was so nervous to be in the same space as Damian. She immediately lowered her head and said to him, "Welcome, sir.""Sir? How fortunate of me. I thought I told you to leave. So why are you here?" Damian questioned her as he strolled into the living room.Alicia parted her lips to speak, but she wasn't bold enough to meet his gaze."It's concerning my sister... she hasn't been found yet," Alicia repeated why she was in his house."What happened to the police doing their job? Or when did it become my job to search for abducted victims? Are you trying to imply that I am the one who had abducted your sister?" Damian asked, his voice neither angry nor cold."No. I am not saying that you are
In the restaurant's private section, Damian and Daisy sat there, and a waiter soon approached them."What would you like to have?" Damian asked Daisy politely. He wanted to cancel his date with her and rush back to meet Alicia who was waiting for him in his house. But he thought against it. Besides, he had given Alicia the chance to offer herself to him earlier, and she declined. He was so sure that Alicia's mind was not made up yet, even as she needed his help.Daisy picked up the menu, glanced through it, and requested a bottle of wine and a simple meal.Damian, on the other hand, went for a bottle of wine too. And they chatted friendly."So Damian, since you said that I can address you by your name, I would like to know more about you. What you do and what you really want from me?" Daisy asked, as she had already given it a thought. At first, she was scared if Damian would make the right choice of a husband for her. But since her brother was serving another mafia lord, what was wro
"Come with me," Jax told Alicia, and he led her toward the mansion's frontage."You don't have to sit on the ground and wait for my boss to return. You should stay inside and await his return. Once he is back, then you can talk to him and negotiate business with him," Jax said, and Alicia frowned."Will that work? I know that your boss doesn't like me anymore. I will pay him anything he asks for, just let him help me to save Samantha, please," Alicia begged, and Jax nodded."He will listen to you. Come with me," Jax led Alicia into the house, and Alicia nervously followed him. As her phone rang. It was an incoming call from Jonathan, but Alicia switched off her phone as she was not ready to speak with Jonathan at the moment. It was already 24 hours, and yet the police were not doing anything to help her find her sister. As Alicia walked into the living room of the mansion with Jax, she was so nervous as she took in the living room. The white mansion was so beautiful, and the interior
"Are you going to answer me? Or do you have nothing else to say?" Damian demanded, standing very close to Alicia. He held her by the waist and positioned her back on her feet, then stepped away from her.Damian could feel his muscles tense as he had loved Alicia before, and he wanted to have a taste of her pink lips.Alicia looked at him and assumed that he looked all dressed up to go on a date with Daisy. She felt bad, but she braced herself and told him, "I thought you liked me, and you would help me.""Well, not anymore. I used to, but I realize that you have someone important to you. So what's the point of chasing after you, hmm?" Damian asked, and Alicia lowered her head as she couldn't respond."You have two minutes left to say anything else you have to say and leave," Damian stated, and Alicia's face turned sad as she accused him."You brought this harm to my family, and my sister got taken away because of you, and yet you couldn't help me.""Mind your language, Madam. Your fat
"What?" Alicia was shocked, and she asked her mother, "When did the car dealer arrive that I was not aware of?"Lady Jennifer sighed and replied, "Agent Albert was here earlier, and he left the house a few minutes ago. He stated that Damian Tucker actually held him hostage and warned him to back off from selling the cars, so he wouldn't be able to sell them.""Hmmm," Alicia's face fell, and her fists clenched. She looked at her mother and replied, "That's fine, Mom. I will still need your car to keep a low profile and to prevent me from getting abducted.""That is fine. You can go with my car and stay safe," Lady Jennifer replied, and Alicia nodded and told her mother, "I will be back, Mom. Take care, Dad."Mr. Max sighed and said, "Be safe, Alicia. And if you run into any danger, you should call us right away."Alicia nodded and replied, "Okay, Dad." She swiftly left the house and went to her mother's car. She got inside, shut the door, and ignited the car. She then drove out of her
Alicia woke up in her room with a slight headache, as she had slept so late the previous night. She got out of her bed and went into her bathroom to have a bath and brush her teeth. As she got out of the bathroom, Alicia thought about going to see Damian at his house, as she knew that he was the only one who could help her sister get freed from the Milian's group or whoever had abducted her sister.Alicia was scared and only wanted to hear Samantha's voice and know that her older sister was alive.Once Alicia was done dressing up in a blue dress and black sandals, she went to stand in front of her room mirror and adjusted her hair. She combed her long blonde hair and packed it into a bun. She applied a little touch of makeup on her face. Her car wasn't available, and she made up her mind to go out with her mother's car. She felt safe the previous day driving in her mother's car, and she knew that her mother wasn't under attack like she or her elder sister. After Alicia finished applyi
