Eveleen's POV
Weird sound broke my gaze. I opened my eyes and found out the source. my phone was vibrating and rubbing it's back violently on the hardwood. I grabbed it from the nightstand. I winced watching her number on screen. I wasn't expecting a call from her, not at least for two more days.
" Are you alright? * I asked with concern.
" Duante wants to meet us. I don't know, how did he know this? But he knows we're two. " I heard her. Her voice was shaking.
" What? " I startled and threw away the blanket.
" His voice was threatening. He wants to meet us. If we didn't go. He'll come for us. "
" How's that possible? "
" You were right. When you were in the hospital. Something must hav
Eveleen's POV It was a giant hall under one roof. A big wooden table was lying in the center of it. There were six chairs around it. Duante was sitting on it. His forearm was resting on the table. As usual, his lappy was sitting before his eyes. Thomas was also there. There were also some new faces. Duante eyes met mine. I quickly lowered them although I had covered my eyes with lens. I was still fearing, he would recognize me. " No weapons. " His man said. He was with tan skin and more than six feet tall like bodybuilders. Okay! He's actually looking horrible or I'm scared like hell. " It can't be," She said. His men pointed their guns at us including Thomas. I pulled out my second hand gun from my clutch and pointed one gun at Tho
Eveleen Next morning, I woke up late. I glanced at the watch. It was eleven o'clock in the morning. I was back in our room. Duante must be in his office, I thought. I showered and put on a brown floral dress. I call Duante. He instantly answered my call. " Good morning. " I happily said, but I was also nervous on the second hand. I was relieved when he returned my good morning with a happy voice.….. …….. I sauntered toward Rose's room. I was grateful, Duante wasn't pissed as I thought. " Good afternoon. " Thomas said, coming at my side. " Good afternoon, Thomas. " I smiled. " Thank Gosh! Y
Eveleen There was a long red coloured strip of my hair in brown. I blinked my smokey eyes. I had wrapped a white towel around me. My parents cried there's eyes out when they saw the dead body of my brother. I shook my head. It wasn't time to cry over the past. I couldn't bring him back. I paced toward the mattress. I picked up the dress. It was hard from inside. Door creaked open and shut behind me. Duante was looking dashing in black suit. He was sauntering toward me. " Something is wrong with my dress. " I said. " It's bulletproof. " He said. " Why I can't wear a normal dress." I asked. " I'd love it, when you'll wear a normal dress and stay at home. " He nuzzled his nose on my bare shoulder. " Nice try. " I said and walked toward the washroom.&n
DUANTE's POV Blood was dripping from his wounded head. It covered his half face with his own blood. Crimson was dripping from his thick eyelash. His white pupil was also red. It had broken me down when I saw his dead body. It infuriated me now, made my blood boil. Anger was simmering under my skin. Revenge! He was badly injured. Ricky brutally smashed his head on the wall and smirked evilly as he glanced at the camera. He left the collar off of him. He staggered on his feet. But somehow managed to rush away from that bastard. He was limping because a bullet hit him in his thigh and second on the left side of his chest and third on the right side. Doctor's words reverberated in my mind, " Bullet has torn through his artery, there is no chance of his survival. He's already dea
Eveleen's POV I was standing near the railing, spreading the view with my eyes. It was college in front of me. I could see empty classrooms through the opened windows. It was evening, but the sun was still shining bright. It was summer. Sun sets late these days. Light breeze was brushing my skin. I turned back and gazed at the Hall full of people. I know only a few relatives of our family who often visit our house. It was a large hall. This building had five stories. Our party was going on the fifth floor. I sauntered at my friends, pushing the glass door open. Cool wind of air-conditioning hit me and relieved a bit of the hot skin of mine. I gazed around to see my friends. I spotted Rose with her phone. She is my friend and cousin. She is pretty enough, five feet six inches tall, slim and black hair with short length and green eyes. It was rare to find a green-eyed girl in Sikanderabad. She was busy on her
My hands were sweating. My body was shaking badly. I hugged my knees tightly to stop the shiver. I heard footsteps coming from the opposite direction. It was increasing my heartbeat. I was afraid of getting caught by him. He would drag me again among his vicious people. He would do what he could not do before. His curt voice was still ringing in my ears. I don't belong to him. " Kid! " I heard. I knew this voice. I had heard it more than a thousand times. Smile broke on my lips " Dad! " I shouted in joy and got out from under the big table. I lifted my head and gazed at my father, " My baby! Are you hurt? " Dad asked me, running at me and he engulfed me. " Thank God for sending my dad. " I whispered. I wasn't glad in my life before. I sighed. I was feeling protected. He broke the hug and rested his hand on my temple, " You
After many hours, I heard the door creaked open. I was digging my nails in my own palm. His amber eyes laid on me. Tann was behind him. What were they both doing here? What if they hurt me? I picked up a filled bowl from the tray to hit them. In case, if any one of them tried to get me. I saw a wry smile on his face. I bit my bottom lips and glared at him angrily. " You wanna meet your friends. " Tann asked. I looked at him, then Tann, " Yes. " I whispered. I felt a surge of happiness. I wanted to smile but I crinkle my lips together. " Good. " Tann paused. A man came and gave him a shopping bag. " Here, your friends selected it for you and it's your daily used stuff." he put the bag on the bed, " There is a bathroom. Get ready. You have thirty minutes. Don't change in the room, there are cameras. Get ready like a new bride otherwise you aren't meeting your friend
Time seems paused to me. Whenever I glanced at the clock it was showing the same time and sometimes with slight moving ahead. There was no window. The darkest part of time was coming next, The Night, when eminently crimes happen. I peered again. Clock was showing, seven o'clock on my phone in the evening. I got a knock on the door. It jolted me, making my heart pounding at speed. It was getting dark, I felt goosebumps on my neck as I was watching a horror movie. It was a worse feeling than watching a horror movie, specially when you didn't feel safe. I didn't answer it. Second time, knocking grew louder. They couldn't break the door, could they? Hesitantly, I stepped on the floor and timidly took treads. I opened it timorously. Tann wasn't alone this time, best makeup artist Himanshu Chopra was standing beside him. " I thought I had to break the door. " Tann said. He looked at me to reply to him. When I didn't, " Anyways, H
