Chapter Thirteen

I woke up with a start as my hand touched something warm and incredibly soft. I raised my head and saw the princess clinging to my side in her sleep. She stirred and got even closer to me, putting her arm over my chest.

I stayed there and waited for her to move away on her own. I have never shared a bed with a woman before, it was odd to have someone in my bed. My eyes went to her face and I found myself staring at her.

After a few moments, she shifted again, rolling over onto her side, taking away the warmth of her body. Her breathing evened out. She looked so peaceful and beautiful, like a painting.

I slowly got up and leaned against the headboard, my eyes never leaving her face.

Her golden hair was sprawled across my black sheets, her flawless pale skin seemed unreal against the dark duvet. The gown she was wearing had been all wrenched up while she was asleep, exposing the upper half of her breasts, baring too much of her skin. My trousers tightened painfully as I div
