Smoke

I spent the rest of the night just staring off into nothing, my eyes thin as the night went through different stages of ageing, and slowly, the fingers of the sun stretched across the sky.

I took a slow bath and fixed a plate for myself before the wr had to go down to make breakfast. I swallowed. It meant seeing Vector again. At this point, I could barely keep myself away from putting a fork in his eye.

I had just walked out of the room when Ckara opened her door, too, then ran over to me.

"Clara! How was your night?"

I smiled at her, my hands smothening my dress. "It was okay. Yours?"

She shrugged. "Better than I have had in years. You look good this morning."

I smiled at her again. "You do too."

She beamed, and we fell into a synchronized pace as we walked down. The kitchen staff were already in the kitchen, and we joined them. Alvin came around with three other men.
