I found my way to Suzy's supposed house with her address. Finally. I stood in front of the light blue building which stood out among the others. I had never been there before so it was going to be a first for me. Sprinting out of the bar, inside the taxi and as I walked to stand in front of the building, the only thing on my mind was hoping she was alright. I had continued to ring her line desperately as well as Marcel's but none of them were going through. I just hoped she was alright. Or rather, she needed to be alright. My phone rang and I checked to see it was Betty. She had probably noticed I was gone and was calling to know where I was. I slid the red button, declined the call and texted her to tell her I would call her back later. I rushed into the building and got into the elevator, pressing the button to the floor where her apartment was and waited for it to take me there. All I had to do was check on her and head back to the bar before Saint would notice I was gone als
Saint's povI sat, legs crossed as my guys checked the new ammunition that had just arrived. The smoke from the cigarette in my mouth filled my lungs and the air in front of me. It was a habit at this point, a habit I didn't think I would stop ever. And it had started at a very young age, I was only surprised my lungs were not yet fried. I looked at the guy behind the counter table as he counted the ammunition and weapons carefully. My eyes caught the red vase containing the artificial flower and instantly, my mind went back to Jade. The red remained me of her silky soft hair and of course the underwear she wore the last time we were down here and I caught myself almost smiling at just the thought of that. She was upstairs at the moment, probably sitting around and I found myself checking the time, wanting to go back up there to see her. What the heck was wrong with me?The bagman leaned on the wall nearby watching my guy at the counte
Jade's pov I opened my eyes slowly to light rays hitting them harshly, which made them hurt a little. The light came from a bulb in the ceiling which seemed to be the brightest in the room. The rest of the bulbs didn't do much justice to the room, making everywhere dim. I lay on my side, with my hands tied behind me and struggled to sit up when I observed the room to see another figure, a female too, almost in the same position as myself. I squinted, trying to make out the shape of who it was when she turned and I saw it was Suzy. Immediately, everything jogged back to me. How I ended up here and why my head hurt. "Oh my gosh, Suzy!!" I called out rushing over to where she lay, away from the bright light. She groaned before opening her eyes to look at me and I saw that her face was covered with bruises and a cut on her lips. As I remembered clearly, her face wasn't bruised before I passed out. This happened after. She sat up slowly, groaning all the more in pain while I felt tea
Saint's POV We stopped in front of Suzy Flores ' apartment. Two of matrix's guy's cars got identified so I was sure they were still there. My men jumped out of the van and reloaded their guns as we prepared to go upstairs. I put a cigarette in my mouth, trying to hold in the anger that I felt as I checked my handgun for the umpteenth time. "None of them will leave the room alive tonight," I announced to my men as they set to start going up to the apartment. "Yes, boss!" They chorused and scurried in. I turned to CJ. "Get the sisters as soon as you see them," I told him, puffing out some smoke. "Got it." He replied then lead the way while I followed behind. We got to the apartment and just as I suspected, the guys were still there, waiting to fight us. I chuckled at that, seeing how Matrix had sent these guys to their death without them even realising and how charged up and willing they came to it too. I made my way to the front of my men as they stood opposite, facing them an
Jade's pov I stood defeated and still in shock, looking at the building in flames. The tears had suddenly ceased and all that was left were the trails on my face that were starting to dry up. Suzy was in there and she was dead. I did not see Marcel anywhere at the moment and I had not seen him since we came here either. The gang of men laughed hysterically as the building burnt down and one of them turned to me amidst laughter, "Nice show, isn't it?" He asked. I looked from him to the building and fell to the ground, my legs unable to carry me any longer. "I haven't seen Lauretta since we came in, you know if she was able to make it here?" Another asked. Lauretta? Who was Lauretta? Immediately, I saw another gang of men rushing towards us. "Fuck it! They're here." The head of the men who had told them to kill Suzy alarmed as he grabbed his gun. I looked at the gang which rushed towards us. I was tired already, I hated this, I hated everything and if finally, I was going to die
Saint's PovIf only I got there faster, just a bit faster. I blamed myself greatly. I had told her that I hated seeing her hurt and had promised myself that I would never let anything hurt her again. But here I was, doing none of those things. The feeling I got anything I saw her bruised innocent pretty face made my stomach turn and I hated it. And when I saw her cry, the feeling was worse even. I could not help holding her in my arms and comforting her as she cried. And I promised myself that I was going to hunt Matrix down to the last. I just had to cut off his feathers first before getting to him. He had just added a bunch of things to our long bad history and he was going to pay for it. I had treated her bruises and injuries and given her some medications before she finally slept off. I sat in the living room and CJ walked in. I had been waiting for him and he had finally come back from the factory. "Did you find her?" I asked him as he dropped his gun on the table and sank
A week had passed already and it was starting to be the usual routine. Waking up early in the morning, bathing, barely eating and going back to sleep till evening. After I had confirmed what Suzy wore before she died, Saint had taken me to the morgue and she indeed, was beyond recognition. I couldn't look at her for a second time, guilt and sadness overwhelmed me which was why I insisted her funeral be held soon. After all, I was her only family remaining because our mum was as good as dead to us. We had put the funeral two days later. And a night before then, Saint had a package delivered to my room containing a black dress and black shoes to wear for the funeral. I was grateful for that as I had not even thought of what to wear for it. He had paid for everything for the funeral too and I was just grateful to him as well. I had also put my anger aside for a few minutes and texted Marcel informing him about Suzy's funeral and had given him the benefit of the doubt that he at least
He pulled up at a luxury clothing store. The one he had taken me to when we had been preparing for the party. The store's name 'YASMINE' which was written with purple coloured led light shone brightly in the dim evening. "Here?" I asked him, turning to look at him. He undid his seat belt. "Too many questions. Just follow me. Here's just the beginning." He replied getting out of the car while I got out also. We walked into the store and the woman's bright smile welcomed us once more. "You're finally here Saint. I thought we wouldn't make it." She said running over to hug him then smiled at me. "Welcome my dear."I smiled at her, "Thank you.""Sorry Aunty, we didn't come any sooner, I'll pay you for the extra hours." He told her and my eyebrows furrowed in confusion again. Aunty? Extra hours? What did that mean? She smiled even brighter, "You know I don't care about that. But if you're giving it to me, why sh
