Twenty three: I'm done punishing you

What the fuck were you doing down here Jade?" He asked again when I didn't reply the first time.

I stared at him, unable to say anything. The scene of him pulling the trigger and watching the man go instantly lifeless kept on replaying in my head.

I shook my head at him, looking away. Whatever it was he wanted to do, I was going to let him do it. I had come to see him because I had missed him but If I wasn't going to leave here alive, I didn't think I cared at this moment.

He had the sleeves of his black shirt loosely rolled up and I could get a glimpse of the writing on his left arm which I had seen unclearly once. It was a tattoo that spelt 'survive' but was written in a stylish font that made it almost impossible to decode.

He took out a handkerchief from his back pocket and wiped the top of his shoe, cleaning out the blood splatter. Then stood up and came to stand in front of me, towering over me like he did every other time.
