DAMION'S POV

I couldn’t stay still. My boots slammed against the polished marble floor as I paced across the throne room, the riddle running through my mind over and over.

"Bind what’s given freely… return what’s taken twice…"

I muttered the words under my breath, hoping that saying them out loud would spark an answer, but nothing came. My wolf snarled inside me, restless and furious. The sun was sinking lower in the sky, streaking the horizon with red and gold. My chest tightened.

Aurora.

The thought of her out there, facing whatever dangers lurked in those cursed woods, made my blood run cold. Even with Alpha Caesar by her side, even with that cocky strength of hers, she wasn’t invincible.

“Damn it,” I growled, clenching my fists. I couldn’t just stand here and wait.

AURORA’S POVThe sting from Sera’s claws burned across my cheek, the warm trickle of blood trailing down my face. My vision blurred with rage, but I didn’t flinch. I wouldn’t give her the satisfaction.Damion growled behind me, a guttural, feral sound that shook the stone walls of the throne room. His wolf was pushing to the surface, his body trembling with barely restrained violence.“Aurora,” he snarled, his hands gripping my shoulders. “Step back. If she touches you again, I’ll rip her throat out.”“No,” I hissed, pushing his hands away. My heart pounded so loud I could hear it in my ears. I wouldn’t hide behind Damion—not tonight. Not after everything we’d been through.Sera’s lips curved into a cruel smile, her eyes gleaming with triumph as she waved the scroll in the air. The parchment pulsed with dark magic, runes glowing faintly along the edges.“You think your little mating ritual changes anything?” she spat. “This isn’t about love. It’s about power. And by the ancient laws,

DAMION'S POV Warm water ran over my skin as I held Aurora close. Her body trembled against mine, and for a moment, I forgot everything—the curse, the angry council members, the threat of war.All I saw was her. Her porcelain skin, blue icy eyes that always made my wolf lose control. Alex-My wolf, never submitted emotionally to any woman, but Aurora's presence sparked a whole new feeling for me."I love you," The words came out of my mouth, breathless and pleading. "I love you more," She smashed her lips onto mine. Her legs wrapped on my waist, my shaft shoved into her core. The raw feeling of her cunt vibrating, as I thrust hard in and out. She was mine, to claim , to love and protect. I thought sending her on the quest with the rest would make me forget her, but the thought of her escaping and never coming back, made my blood boil."You had all the freedom, you could have ran away. You had no bracelet to bind you to this castle," I muttered breathlessly in between kisses. Mayb

AURORA'S POV Damion’s arms wrapped tightly around me, his lips trailing down my neck, branding me with a passion so fierce it almost burned away my guilt. Almost.I melted into him, my fingers tangled in his dark hair, my breath hitching as his kisses deepened. But no matter how desperately I wanted to stay in this moment, my mind refused to stay still. Images of the battle flashed like lightning behind my eyelids—Volak’s twisted sneer before I struck the final blow, his monstrous beast plummeting lifeless from the skies, and my mind trailed back to the chains of the other creatures snapping as I set them free from Velmoria’s cruel rule.I had done what I believed was right… yet with each kiss Damion gave me, the weight of the secret I carried grew heavier.I needed to tell him.“Damion…” My voice trembled as I pulled back slightly, searching his eyes. “There’s something I—”A sharp voice cut through the air, silencing me.“A lie rests on her tongue,” Alpha Caesar announced, his ton

DAMION'S POV The sphere glimmered on my desk, showing Aurora and her crew moving cautiously through the dense, hostile terrain. My fists clenched at the sight of her face streaked with dirt and sweat, her breaths ragged as she swung her blade to fend off creatures lunging at her.“Damn it, Aurora!” I snarled, slamming my palm on the table. “Watch your left!”Of course, she couldn’t hear me. That didn’t stop the words from tearing out of me.Another flash—Volak appeared behind her like a shadow rising from hell.“No, no, NO!” I roared, grabbing the edge of the table so hard the wood cracked under my grip. “I swear, if he lays a hand on you, I’ll tear him apart myself!”Aurora barely managed to dodge Volak’s attack. My breath caught, and then rage exploded in my chest. I kicked a heavy case stacked beside my desk, sending it flying into the wall. The wood splintered on impact, pieces clattering to the floor.Outside, I heard gasps from the staff stationed near my doors.“Leave me the h

AURORA'S POVThe winged beast roared .Every instinct screamed at me to run.The hairs on the back of my neck rose as a shadow glided over us, blotting out what little moonlight pierced through the canopy.“Stay close,” Caesar growled, his voice low and tense. The trees ahead exploded as the winged beast descended, its massive talons tearing through branches as if they were paper. It landed with a deafening crash, wings unfurling, blotting out the sky. Its eyes burned like molten fire, locked on me.But this time… it wasn’t alone.Figures slithered out from the darkness—dozens of them. Their twisted, nightmarish bodies crawled low to the ground, limbs too long, movements jerky and unnatural. Their guttural hisses sliced through the silence like knives.Lucien’s face hardened. “Shadow monsters.”Caesar’s jaw tightened. “And where there are shadow monsters…”A slow, mocking laugh drifted through the clearing, sending ice through my veins.“…there is me.”A tall, cloaked figure emerged f
