AURORA'S POV

I woke up drenched in sweat, beads streaming down my face and neck, my hands trembling as if I had clawed my way out of a war and left thousands dead behind me. I shut my eyes tightly, rubbing my temples in small circles, but his face still flashed before me—his eyes dull, his mouth smeared with blood, his body cut to ribbons.

I shuddered.

If this was real, then I’d love to see his rotten corpse myself. A bitter chuckle slipped past my lips.

“She’s awake!” Sammy’s voice rang out.

I bolted upright, heart hammering, scanning the room. This wasn’t Damion’s chambers. Cold stone walls. Gold-draped curtains. The air smelled of lavender and iron.

Then she appeared—Sammy—with a tray so large it nearly dwarfed her. A crown rested atop her head. My crown.

The scent of food hit me like a punch, my stomach twisting violently. I grabbed the small bucket beside the bed and puked until my ribs hurt. Sammy didn’t rush to help; she only smiled—a slow, cruel smile I couldn’t read. But I c

Aurora’s POVI press my palm against the cold ground, my knees scraping as I drag myself forward. My breath comes in sharp pants. “Stay… stay calm, Aurora,” I whisper to myself. “Don’t spook him.”Damion’s growl vibrates through the stone, deeper now, like thunder rolling through the Shadow Realm. His claws scrape against the ground as he circles, his body low, his eyes locked on me. A predator. My mate, but not my mate.I see something glint in the corner of my eye—a statue, carved from black stone, half-buried in ash. If I can just reach it…I crawl, inch by inch, my fingers trembling, but my eyes never leaving his. His nostrils flare as he tracks me.“Damion,” I whisper, my voice shaking. “Please… it’s me. It’s Aurora.”He lunges forward, stopping so close his snout nearly brushes my stomach. Hot breath rushes over me, and I freeze. My heart leaps to my throat. “You smell it, don’t you?” I say, my voice breaking. “It’s yours, Damion. Yours.”His ears twitch. He sniffs again, slower

Aurora's POVThe air around me was thick and heavy, like breathing in liquid darkness. Each step I took sank into the blackened ground, a chilling mist curling around my ankles as if it wanted to drag me under.Behind me, Lucien halted at the gates of the Shadow Realm. The jagged, obsidian pillars loomed high above, glowing faintly with runes that pulsed like a heartbeat.“This is as far as I go,” Lucien said, his voice tense, almost pained. His golden eyes glimmered with warning. “If Damion sees me here, in this place… he’ll lose whatever control he has left. His wolf will turn on you, and he’ll never come back.”I turned to him, fear and determination warring inside me. “You expect me to face him alone?” My voice trembled, though I tried to keep it steady.Lucien’s jaw tightened. “You are the only one who can reach him now. But remember, Aurora—he’s not himself. In the Shadow Realm, a Lycan’s wolf is unbound. They don’t recognize mate from enemy. If he hurts you…” He trailed off, bu

Damion’s POVThe darkness around me was alive. It slithered beneath my skin, crawling into every vein, every nerve, every thought. The shadow realm was silent, yet the silence screamed louder than a thousand wolves howling at once. My breathing came out ragged, my chest heaving as the suffocating black mist coiled around me like chains.I could feel my wolf… but this wasn’t the wolf I’d known my whole life. This was something wilder, darker—untamed. My claws extended without my command, tearing through the skin of my hands. My teeth ached, lengthening into sharp fangs as guttural growls ripped from my throat. The taste of blood filled my mouth, though I hadn’t bitten anything. I slammed my fist into the cold, jagged ground, snarling like a beast losing control.“Focus,” I growled to myself, my voice cracking. “Aurora would never betray you. She wouldn’t…”But the shadows whispered otherwise. She did.A mate who keeps secrets cannot be trusted. You saw the way she looked at him. At the

AURORA'S POVLucien’s words rang in my ears like a death knell, each syllable slicing deeper than the last.“They dragged him into the Shadow Realm.”I stood frozen, my breath catching, my entire body trembling as though the very ground beneath me had been ripped away. My hand instinctively cradled my stomach, my pup shifting restlessly inside as if he could feel the rising storm of fear and fury swirling within me.“No,” I whispered, shaking my head. “No, that’s not possible. The Shadow Realm is… it’s a prison. A void. No one comes back from there alive.”Lucien’s blood-soaked form trembled as he forced himself upright. His face was pale, his wolf barely contained beneath his skin, his glowing amber eyes darting between me and the doorway. “Aurora,” he rasped, voice thick with urgency, “listen to me. You have to understand what this means for Damion.”I took a shaky step forward, my heart pounding so hard it hurt. “Tell me,” I demanded. “Tell me everything.”Lucien swallowed, his thr

AURORA'S POVHis voice struck through my mind like a thousand blades, raw and full of fury.“The audacity to even try and reach me! You deceived me!”I froze, the chain in my hands clattering to the cold floor. My breath caught in my throat, heart pounding wildly. His rage was palpable, coursing through the mindlink like wildfire.“No! Damion, please—listen to me!” I cried, clutching my stomach as the violent movements of our pup tore through me. The little life inside me reacted to his father’s anger, trembling with fear. “It’s not what you think. Sammy lied to you! This is your pup, yours!”“Enough!” His roar reverberated in my skull so loudly it nearly knocked me to my knees. “I saw you! I smelled his scent all over you—Lucien’s scent! You carried him inside my palace, behind my back. And now… now you dare to mindlink me as if I’m some fool to be played?”Tears burned my eyes, blurring my vision. “You didn’t even give me a chance to explain!” I screamed back. “You know me, Damion!
