28. Holding On For Dear Life

Mrs. Johnson, realizing Tristan's gaze on Elizabeth and the smirk on his face, quickly decides to divert the conversation and gestures for Elizabeth to leave the kitchen. Elizabeth obediently starts walking away, her eyes cast downward, avoiding any further interaction. Mrs. Johnson, always astute in her observations, notices the tension between Tristan and Elizabeth and takes it upon herself to address Tristan.

Mrs. Johnson clears her throat to ask, “Tristan, would you like some breakfast?" Tristan who starts making his way towards the garden responds, "Just coffee, Mrs. Johnson."

Tristan joins his cousin, Dominic, who is already seated in the garden. They exchange a quick glance, their eyes meeting fleetingly before Dominic can't help but voice his curiosity about Tristan's early awakening.
