Maid Of A Spoiled Brat

The Kim residence, Noise was nowhere to be heard and only peace surrounded the air around... Or so Raven thought

“Raven?” Her mom started, it was an uneasy atmosphere at the dinner table as Winter settled herself down onto the seat

“What is it mom?” Raven asked, although the heavy air was getting to her she calms herself

“I wanted to tell you sooner but I thought you'd be stressed and it wouldn't be good for you but... Raven... Our family's in debt” Her mother replied, Raven gets stunned in her seat and almost chokes on air as she hears the news

“What? How? When?” Raven bombarded the questions, her mind was dazed but she manages to calm herself just enough to hear her mother's explanation

“Your dad made an agreement with the Yoo's... If they surpassed the 70% mark before we do... We'd have to pay 100 billion won and vice versa if we pass it first” Her mother explained, every word starting to sink into Raven's mind

As far as she knew her father wasn't someone who'd recklessly bet something like that, especially with money on the line... He wasn't a money horde

“They passed 76% and we got to 70... But your dad didn't have enough money because everything was put onto sales to beat the Yoo's... He had to sell the whole company to them but, it only took out a quarter of the debt” Her mother continued and as she kept going, Raven became more confused

“But... Dad's not like that? He wouldn't—” The doors opened, Raven's words halt as her father enters with a gloomy expression

“I'm sorry Raven... I thought it wasn't a bad idea... I wanted to win, I wanted to give you a life that's easier but instead... I made it worse…” Her father apologizes, getting on his knees and holding his daughter's hands

Raven stared at her father, she knew he was strong... But seeing him like that in front of her made her realize that... Right... My dad's human too

“Dad... Get up please... Don't apologize... I know you did it for our family but dad, this should be a lesson to you... To us, do not do anything reckless anymore, okay?” Raven said and her dad nods his head, wiping away his tears as he stood up

“The problem still remains... Where do we get that much money?” Raven asked and the room turned silent

They were all thinking of a solution to this big problem that they had, silently thinking of ways until Raven finally spoke up

“Then I'll get a job... I'll help pay off the debt” Raven suggested, her parents immediately batted an eye at her

“What? Raven, I told you I want you to live an easy life... You're done with studies, there's many things you should do instead of work. Your mom and I will do that” Her father retaliated, she expected this reaction which is why she thought of a plan

“But dad... If I do that then I won't be at ease... Can you let me help? Please? This one time?” Raven begged, she certainly didn't want her parents to suffer this problem alone

“But what work will you do? We can't have you do too much, it's my fault so I should be accountable for it” Her father replied, Winter knew he was implying that it was all his fault and that he should work all by himself to pay the huge debt off... Raven wasn't gonna let it happen

“Maybe you can contact a friend? I can work at the office... I can do any kind of work” Raven replied and her father was clearly in discomfort upon the idea of making his daughter work

“What about the Yoo's?” Raven suddenly suggested and her father immediately furrowed his eyebrows

“What? Raven, it's the Yoo's that we lost the bet against and you want to work for them?”Her father asked, his outburst was seen from a mile away but Raven still shot her idea

“Yes! That way I'll be paying off our debt, directly. They don't need to pay me because anything that becomes my pay will all be going back to them... Technically they're paying me to pay them” Raven replied, she was wishing that her father would accept her idea

“But Raven—”

“And if anything happens to me then you know who to blame... You were business partners, you know each other for a long time and I'm sure they wouldn't do anything to me... All they wanted was the bet” Raven cutted her father off, she was hanging onto the last thread of hope that her father would approve of her idea and help. She feels relief as she sees him sigh and look at her mother

The door opens, the windows were open and the sun setting was a beautiful sight to see

“Dad, you called for me?” Tristan asks as he enters the office, he was suddenly called in even though he was also busy which only meant that it was an important matter to discuss and so he hurried over to meet his father

“Tristan, you know the Kims right?” His dad suddenly asked and Tristan nods

“Well I had this wager... Or bet, with them... For 100 billion won” His dad continued and Tristan just stared at him, listening to his words carefully

“It was a bet to see who would pass 70% in sales... They reached 70%” He explains and Tristan silently nods

“But we got to 76% which meant that we won by a margin, by the time they reached 70% we were already at peak 76... Now's where things begin, you see the Kims didn't have enough to pay off the wager so... They gave me their company for compensation” He adds and Tristan finally moved from his spot

“They... They gave it to you?” Tristan asked, bewildered at the news

“Yes but unfortunately almost all their profit went to stocks which only left at least 100 million won... It wasn't enough to pay the wager” He replied and Tristan crosses his arms

“And what does this all have to do with me? I'm not in a position where I can meddle with your affairs” Tristan asked and his dad chuckles

“Kim just called, he says his daughter has desperately asked him to let her help... He doesn't want her to work somewhere unknown so he was wondering if he could send her here” He replied and Tristan just waits for his next words

“And you Tristan, will be in charge of her” He says as he stares at his son

“What? Why? I don't even work here... Technically I do but I don't do office work here” Tristan replied and her dad stands up

“Then you don't want this assigned work?” He asks and Tristan nods

“Okay then... Should we just talk about your arranged marriage with Pamela?” He asks and Tristan's eyes widened

There was no way in hell he'd get married to that woman, whenever he met her it was always as if the woman was undressing him with her eyes and it always sent shivers down his spine

“I told you I'm not getting married to that girl” Tristan replied, annoyed at her father's antics

“Then you should've gotten someone, if you don't find someone until the end of the year... You're marrying Pamela” He says and Tristan stares at him

The two had a staring contest, it was a normal sight to outsiders as Tristan and his dad would always fight about anything related to his relationships

“I'll find someone by the end of the year... Maybe not even half” Tristan bites back and his dad just smirks at him

“I'll wait for that then” He challenges him and before Tristan could say anything else his dad hushes him

“Here, your mom wanted me to give you this” He says and takes out a pair of keys from his pockets

“What are these for?” Tristan asked as his dad hands him the keys he held

“Keys for your new house, your mom said you've been ranting out about how your house isn't big enough for you and your servants so she got a mansion for you” He replied and Tristan smiles before putting the keys into his pocket

“You're giving me your lambo?” Tristan asked, excitement written all over his face

“Under one condition” He says and Tristan's face immediately glooms

“If it's about Pamela again then I won't take—”

“Let the Kim's daughter work for you” He cuts him off and Tristan raises a brow at him

“What? Again, Dad I don't work in your company I don't need assistance” Tristan replied

“Yes, I know but Kim was still my business partner... I met with his kid when she was small, you were always with me and I know you guys are the same age... I don't trust anyone in this company to take care of that kid, except for you” He explains

“Why are you so persistent with that girl?” Tristan asked

“Because she's like you Tristan, she still has a future ahead of her and she won't get to that future if she falls into debt... If she works for you then I'll secure her a place at the academy... Weren't you the one who bad mouthed me when I told you I wouldn't let you study? That's the same case with her, the only difference is you had a choice, right now that girl doesn't" He replies and Tristan sighs in frustration

“Once she starts working for you then the academy won't be hard for her since you're always there, you knew she didn't get in didn't you?” He asked and Tristan rubs his temple before nodding

“Yeah I looked through the files of students who pass and those who don't in the academy, it's only natural I knew... Then if I do as you say... You'll do as I say” Tristan says and his father immediately rolls his eyes

“Name it” He says and Tristan smirks

“I want a mercedes along with the Lambo”

“Raven? Honey, I've received a call from Yoo… He said that it was okay and you'll be working under his son because you are the same age and he was the most trustworthy one” Her dad knocked on the door, Raven was still shocked from the news she received but she's pushing through it

“Okay dad… Thank you” Was the only thing she could reply

“Oh? Raven pack your bags, it seems that his daughter is coming to pick you up… Today” He adds and Raven jumps up from her bed, rushing to open her door

“What?... What did you say?” Raven asked

“I got a text from Yoo it says… Kim, I've already told my son about all of this and he agreed. As you know my son works from his own home so the only staff that gets assigned to him has to live with him at the mansion. I hope you understand because my son also still goes to college so it's hard for him to work right at the office… I've met his son before and he's not bad, he's quiet but he doesn't seem to be unsocial” Her dad explained and Raven's eyes slowly widened

“So you mean… The whole time I'll be working there… I have to stay at her house? I have school, Dad…” Raven replied

“Right… About that, Yoo already has that all figured out. He got you into the Elite School you wanted to go to… He said it was to maximize your work time because his son studies there” He replied and before Raven could speak again, There was a knock on the door. Raven's mother opened the door and it revealed a tall man

“Hello… Mrs.Kim, it's a pleasure to see you again after so long… I assume you've heard everything from my father?” The man asks and Raven walks down the stairs

“Ahh yes… This is her, this is Raven… Raven this is Tristan, Yoo's son” Her Mother said and Tristan barely looks at Raven before slightly smiling

“Yeah… I'm here to pick her up as I'm heading home now because it would be an inconvenience to have her go there tomorrow all by herself” Tristan says and Raven's mother immediately turns to Raven who was stuck staring up at Tristan

“Come… I'll help you pack” She said and touched Raven's shoulder

“Ahh… Yeah… Okay, Thank you mom”

“Thank you Tristan for picking our daughter up… Please take care of her” Raven's Father said and shook hands with Tristan

“It's no big deal Mr.Kim… Don't worry I'll take responsibility for your daughter if anything happens to her within my watch” Tristan replied and bowed, he spots Raven who was struggling to get her bags down and walked towards her

Tristan grabbed her luggage which immediately caught Raven off-guard, stumbling on the stairs. Raven closes her eyes and waits for her to hit the floor but she feels nothing… All she felt were hands wrapping around her waist, she slowly opened her eyes and turned her head to see Tristan holding her tightly by the waist, almost hugging her. His eyes filled with worry as he stares at Raven

“I've got you…” Tristan whispered and Raven immediately stood up straight, Pushing Tristan slightly and rushing to get down

“We'll be off now Mr. And Mrs.Kim” Tristan bids and follows Raven out

“I… I-I should be carrying a-all that…” Raven says as she turns to Tristan

“You walked slowly and you looked like you were struggling with these when you came downstairs… I don't like wasting time and I especially don't like waiting so just keep walking, my car's already there anyway'” Tristan replies and Raven looks forward to see a Lamborghini parked right in front of them

“Get in… Don't sit at the back, I don't like sitting at the front alone… It'll also make me look like your driver” Tristan said as he opens the trunk of the car and inserts the luggages in, Meanwhile Raven went around to get to the passenger seat

“I heard Yoo's son was evil… It's why I reacted so shocked with what my dad said earlier… He was said to be cold and doesn't talk much but… That doesn't seem to be the case?” Raven thought

Tristan gets into the driver's seat and looks at Raven, he suddenly leans over which made Raven lean against the seat

“Seatbelt is a must, Don't forget that” Tristan said and pulled the seatbelt onto Raven, after doing so he immediately starts the car and puts in an address on the GPS
