It was one thing to be woken by the sound of birds chirping by your windowsill, and another, to an empty space right next to you, especially since you retired for the night with the body of your Fiancé wrapped in yours.

Fiancé?

Where’s Cameron?

I sat up in bed at once, wanting to peer out the window, but was met with a table loaded with lots of food, right at the bedside.

A bowl filled with fruits on one side, and a plate of ham and egg on the other. There was a bottle of sparkling water to go with, accompanied with a glass of orange juice.

The sight had managed to put a smile on my weary face, with form soon tearing off the bed, moving closer to the mobile table.

There was a note sticking out under the plate.

Amidst all, my heart calls and yearns for you.

It’s you and I on this Journey that seems puzzling, yet, in you I find every certainty.

I love you, always.

Cameron.

Since when did he turn a poet?

And only then did the door get pushed open, and in walked that figure I longed to see, a grin on that prepossessing face of his.

“You look entrancing”

Oh, that definitely must be a lie, Cause I just woke up with a pang in my head, hair disheveled, not to forget the bulgy eyes.

“Why are you so cheerful, today?” I followed with a smile, watching as he pulled over to me.

“I’m always cheerful” He called out.

“Not always”

His gaze on me lingered, eyes taking a stroll around my profile.

“It’s just much of a delight being here with you” He let out in a low voice, reaching for a kiss, but I had stuffed my mouth with a ball of grape at once, eyes beaming on at him.

“Morning breath” I let out, turning away from him, but he had pulled me back in an instant, crashing his lips onto mine.

“We’ve fucked a number of times, Nia—He reached for my hair, letting it slip through his fingers—I don’t think that matters, now” He added in a low voice.

Classic Cameron, go on being blunt.

“But go wash up” He pulled back, eyes grinning at me. “Makai’s waiting for us”

“Who’s Makai, and why is he waiting for us?” My voice followed, with my form soon pulling off the bed, proceeding into the shower room.

It was much warm in here, with hot water, flowing through, the instant my hands hit the tap.

My body sunk into the tub in a second, steam filling the area, while my skin familiarized myself with the calming water.

“Joe’s the Ferry guy” I heard Cameron call out from the room.

His utterance got me sitting up in the tub, eyes snapping to the doorway, where he had now made his entrance.

Form leaning by the frame, he remained watching me like I was some new discovery which had been unveiled.

“We’re going on a ferry?” The stupefaction could be detected in my tone, with eyes widened at him.

“You’ve always wanted to go on one since we got here, and since we have a few hours to our departure, I decided we use it to make up our stay here”

I wanted to rush to him, wrap my arms around him, while I trailed kisses to every bit of him.

He remembered those faint words I had uttered, while we sat out under the moonlight that night, onlooking the silent sea.

“I love you”

My eyes never took leave off his, held strongly in them, I chose not to shift away.

I could see every bit of warmth held in there. Every comfort.

He had soon pulled closer to the tub, crouching low, while his hands pulled into the soapy water, caressing my shoulders.

“I love you, Nia” His words were whispers to me, while his fingers went brushing through my hair, sending teases all through me.

They soon went trailing all the way to my thighs, taking a stop at the center, and with his gaze locked in mine, I caught the delight which rushed in there.

He had planted a kiss on my forehead, and with fingers dancing over my opening down there, he found his way to my longing lips.

The kiss was light, our lips locked in each other’s jiving.

And while our faces remained gentle on each other’s, his fingers slid into me underneath the water, pushing in and out, getting my legs tightening at each movement he gave.

“Cameron” My breath was hitched, hands caressing his face.

“We’ll Miss the ferry if we go on” I whispered into his ears, but he only responded with another kiss to my lips, body adjusting.

“Makai can wait” He called out at once, tugging his clothing off, while making his way into the tub.

My eyes were only fixed on him, the glee filling him, while I watched every part of him. He was like a little kid, yearning to make merry on a playground.

His figure had pushed towards me in an instant, the water slapping his skin, while his bare body pushed towards mine.

And then the exuberance came, hands pulling each other’s, lips held in one another’s, our skins stayed kissing.

And while my arms were wrapped around his neck, his hands wandered around me.

I could feel him getting hard down there, as he stayed hovering over my ‘area’

“Cameron” My voice had managed to snap his attention, with his eyes held strongly in mine.

“What’s wrong?” Those words of his poured soft, gaze intent on me.

“We don’t have condoms” I let out.

I couldn’t tell what it was, but my utterance had managed to slap the confusion to his eyes, brows pulling to a furrow.

“What are you talking about?” Those questioning eyes remained on me.

“Protection” I uttered, like my last utterance didn’t do well giving enough clarity.

“We had sex last night, Nia” He stated.

“Yes, but we both were hung up” I added, shifting under him.

“We’re engaged” His tone had taken a raise in pitch, eyes shifting through mine.

“What should it matter if we used protection or not?” He called.

“It’s not an issue to me, Cameron. Believe me—but I wouldn’t want to get pregnant, before everything’s official”

“You can’t be serious” His words were firm, that delight which had filled his gaze minutes ago, soon fading.

“Come on, Cameron. You know what I mean”

“No, I have no idea what you’re talking about!” Tone laced at fury, he was starting to get agitated, I could tell.

“We haven’t been using protection all this while? And now it seems a concern to you?”

“We’ve only skipped it a couple times” I made mention.

“So, why should it bother you now?” He followed.

“Don’t make an issue out of nothing, Cameron. It’s not that serious”

“Is is serious” He let out at once, pulling away from me.

“We already are engaged, Nia. We are on the path of getting together as man and wife, and you think you refusing to have sex with me, without protection, wouldn’t bug me?!”

I watched him slap the towel off the toilet rack, and in a moment, he had walked away, leaving me staring at his departing form.

This wasn’t something to bring about any hostility, I tell you.

I only required us being protected, to prevent any pregnancy.

It was my sole decision not to walk down the aisle with a protruding belly, and in as much as I loved Cameron dearly, I just couldn’t turn back on that now.
