Chapter 26

Snow

"You're all good Miss Jenkins."

"Thank you Doctor." With a smile, I walk out of the hospital with Sam. I'm happy I'm finally healed. No more sling, no more clutch and no more broken heart.

"It's been a month." Sam begins as we walk through the busy corridor to the exit. I know what she's talking about but I'm not going to listen.

"I'm not going anywhere Sam."

"You're hurting him. You see that and you're ignoring him."

"He did the same to me. So I don't see why doing the same to him is a bad thing."

An old lady passes by and tries to get to the elevator before it closes. I run and hold the door for her. "Thank you dear. You're very kind."

"Don't mention it Ma'am." We smile at each other and I get back to Sam.

"Sam, I don't want to talk about him anymore. I was happy when I didn't hear his name for a month. I don't know why you're mentioning his name now."

"Because he's a mess and I didn’t want you to worry about him. But go talk to him now at least."
