While no one was in Alona's room, Ivan went inside and carefully closed the door so that he wouldn't wake the girl from her slumber.

He also slowly walked his feet closer to Alona, and then he stopped in front of her while observing her injured body due to the accident that happened to her.

His tears almost dripped from the corner of his eye, especially when he looked up at the girl's face, who was currently wrapped in a white bandage all over her face.

“I'm sorry if i failed you and i didn't protect you. But I'll make sure that person pays for what he did to you,” he said softly but firmly in his mouth as he clenched his two fists.

The girl's index finger on her left hand seemed to move and Ivan noticed it immediately, so he suddenly became silent and looked at the girl's face.

He knew that Alona had heard what he said, and it was as if something wanted to tell him but she could not speak now in front of the young man.

“Ms. Alona,” he knelt in front of it and held out her hand.

“Can you hear me? It's me, Ivan. And don't worry because i will never leave your side. You have to be strong, at least for your parents and your brother, Dennis. I'm always here besides you and i will not leave you.“ He stared at the girl while holding back the tears from his eyes.

Moments later, he suddenly heard voices from outside it's room and the voice seems louder and louder as they got closer.

He quickly stood up and let go of the girl's hand. He rubbed his eyes and wiped the tears from his face.

Coincidentally, the door opened and the Sermiento's family, along with Carlos. But now that her parents are gone, it appears that their parents agreement is no longer valid.

“You? why are you here and what are you doing here in Ms. Alona's room?” Lucia inquired of the young man, Carlos' mother and Henry Sermiento's wife.

The gentleman took his wife by the arm and motioned to her eyes as if to tell her not to raise her voice to him.

The lady also seemed to get what he wanted to tell her right away, so she looked at the young man again with a forced smile on her lips.

“I'm sorry if i raised my voice. I'm just worried for Alona and because she's already close to us. You know, it's hard to trust now, especially since we don't know who's real and who's just pretending, right?" she said as it walked closer to him and also stopped in front of him.

They looked at each other as he stared sharply into the lady's eyes.

Carlos, on the other hand, noticed that the behavior he was showing to his mother didn't seem to be good. So, he approached him and was about to slap him on the shoulder when Ivan grabbed his hand and looked back at him with a smirk.

Carlos was shocked by what he did, and there was a trace of surprise on his face as he stared him in the eye.

“What do you think you're doing? Let me go. Let me go, i said.” The young man pointed at him weakly but firmly.

Ivan immediately let go of his hand and just bowed his head.

“My goodness! did i witness something unrespectful? does Alona know the true behavior of her personal body guard? and what agency did you come from, and you weren't even taught proper respect?” the lady told him sharply as she raised one eyebrow.

Ivan ignored her and looked her deep in the eye again.

“And what's more! Those are the stares in your eyes. It looks like your true behavior is really coming out after the disappearance of her parents-” she immediately interrupted what she was saying, when Carlos shouted at her and stopped her.

“Mom!” Carlos said to her, so she suddenly became quiet and just turned around to leave the room. Her husband followed her, and even Carlos followed them after he stared into Ivan's eyes.

When the Sermiento family left, he almost took a deep breath because of the intense nervousness he had been feeling before.

His knees also seemed to weakened, and he just sat in the empty seat that was also close to where Alona was lying.

He feels, he's not ready for such kinds of situations ye. But he needs to be resilient and be brave to protect, Alona.

Because he didn't feel good about that family, he thought it was no different from other people he had already encountered and they just chase money or wealth only, from the Desepeda family.

He was soaking wet with the actions of everyone around them. During his service to Desepeda family, he has almost mastered the various desires of the people he encounters, every day.

But he can also say that it's difficult to fight the Sermiento family, even though their family is close to them.

Carlos is one of the people he suspects.

He didn't trust this young man and seemed uncomfortable with his stares in his eyes, especially when he was staring at the girl. He also feels that he's not suitable to be the girl's husband and be part of the Desepeda's family.

So, he decided for himself that he would protect her, no matter what happened, even he had to sacrifice his own life.

That is why whenever someone visits the girl, he's always by her side. He doesn't leave her even for a second until someone else is in there. He also spends his night there so that he can keep a close eye on her and make sure of the girl's safety.

Furthermore, he only leaves his room every time he goes to the bathroom, or he has to call a doctor.

Occasionally, he also goes to the funeral of her, (Alona's parents) but he will first call her trusted friend to temporarily watch over Alona while he is away.

Kiko Jimenez, twenty-four years old, is Ivan's friend whom he also constantly calls and orders to watch over the girl while he takes care of the remains of her parents.

He took care of them almost alternately, even though every so often he lacked sleep and didn't get enough rest.

The Desepeda family has no other relatives whom he can ask for favors or even trust.

If anything, they are always rational or busy with their businesses.

So, he's the only one to take care of it's remains and some documents stating it's death.

The day of the couple's funeral is also approaching, so he becomes even more busy.

Just like the two of them and Kiko talked, he would watch over her while he was away.

But of course because Kiko is cunning and mischievous, his service is not just free, so Ivan pays for every hour he spends looking after the girl.

One day, before burying the Desepeda couple's, the door of Alona's room suddenly opened and Kiko happened to leave for a while to buy something to eat.

He carefully closed the door and slowly stepped his feet, towards where the maiden was.

He stopped walking for a moment when he found her. He silently watched what happened to Alona all over her body, as well as part of her face.

His terrifying grin seemed to stick out from the tip of his lip and his gaze wandered around her room.

His eyes caught Alona's family picture frame displaying on the side table, and he picked it up.

“Whether it's in a photo or in person, you're stunning. There's no denying why so many men admire you. But just be patient because it looks like you won't experience that again now, especially in your current situation.” He said softly with a grin still on his lips.

He examined her again from head to toe and face. Then he also turned his attention back to the picture frame he was holding. He thought of removing that photo from it's place and then tucked the photo into his pants pocket.

He came a little closer to the girl's bed and put his face on Alona's bandaged face.

“See you again, Alona. This isn't the last time the two of us meet.”

When he said that, he immediately walked away from the girl and turned his back on her to leave the room.

Coincidentally, when he came out, he met Carlos walking and he even collided with him on the shoulder.

“I'm sorry,” the young man immediately said to him, but he just ignored him and left the place without looking back.

Carlos shook his head and seemed to be wondering about the strange behavior of the person he collided with. That's why he was suddenly felt strange and he hurriedly ran into Alona's room.

“Alona!” he shouted, as soon as he opened the door.

He also immediately heard the loud sound of it's ventilator and the drawing directly on the girl's heart rate monitor. So, he hurriedly called a nurse and a doctor, to anticipate Alona's condition.

At that moment, Kiko happened to be walking back to the girl's room.

He was walking with a headset on his ear, when he suddenly noticed some nurses and doctors running towards the girl's room. So, his eyes widened in shock, and he simply dropped a bag of food he had bought outside on the floor and hurried to her room.

He was almost exhausted when he stopped in front of the door. He noticed that the nurses and doctors were watching over the girl while pumping her heart with a defibrillator shock. His hands were shaking as he took his cellphone out of his pocket and he immediately contacted Ivan's phone number.

“Why, Kiko? why did you called me?” he said to him, as soon as he answered Kiko's call.

“Ivan, where are you?” he said nervously, which surprised him.

“Huh? Why did you ask? Is there a problem, Kiko? Is something going on their right now?” he nervous asked him with a concern in his voice.

“Ivan, come here now!” as soon as he heard what he said, Ivan's call immediately dropped him off, and he hurried out of the building where he was.

He immediately got inside his car and hurriedly drove his car.

He briefly slapped a Bluetooth headset on his right ear and called Kiko's phone number. On those occasions, the young man was very anxious and restless because of extreme nervousness. He was just walking around waiting for Ivan to arrive, when suddenly his cell phone rang and he realized that he was calling him.

“Ivan, where have you been?” he asked as he answered the call while biting the nail of one of his fingers.

“Tell me the details of what's going on there and if possible, you won't let anyone inside her room, except the doctor and nurses,” Ivan ordered him.

The young man looked around Alona's room for a moment and seemed to be attracted to the unfamiliar face of the man who was currently standing in his room, while watching the girl's survival.

“Wait, Ivan. I noticed a man standing in her room. I don't know him, and it seems like i just saw him here?” he said as he watched Carlos, from head to toe and back.

Ivan frowned as he listened to it and even though he couldn't describe the look of what he was referring to, he seemed to have a strong feeling that Carlos was the man Kiko was talking about.

“Just be there. Don't ever leave there until i'm arrived.”

After he said that to the young man, he dropped the call again and he hurried his drive.
