Chapter 93
CAIN POV
My blood runs cold when I turn around after killing the hunter who shot at me. Miracle came in the way and took the hit, that’s all I can think about.
My eyes instantly find her body lying on the bloody ground. Her turquoise eyes are half closed and she is blinking repeatedly to fight the drowsiness.
Everything stills for me for a moment. I find myself rooted on the spot and staring right at her human form.
‘ Silver. It must be a silver bullet. ’ Hunter whimpers and I finally snap out of the daze.
The remaining hunters retreat, leaving behind the bodies. I make my way to her body, but Matthew gets to her before me.
I am having a hard time believing this. She took the bullet for me and now she is on the ground fighting for life while blood rapidly spills out of her chest.
She is really dying. Something whispers in my my head and I run towards her to get to her before she really dies.
