I slid to the floor, my back hitting the door I’d just slammed hard enough to rattle the walls.

“You’re enjoying this.”

Jax’s voice kept echoing, burning hotter than the fire in my chest. He wasn’t wrong. That was the worst part. Somewhere between surviving and pretending, I’d grown too comfortable. I’d stopped fighting the madness and let it swallow me whole.

Tears burned down my face as I pressed my palms over it and let out a shaky breath. I hated myself for crying, for wanting them like an addiction.

After what Jax said, I couldn’t go to Kain. The thought of letting any of them touch me tonight made my skin crawl.

Kain’s voice came with the knock. “Lira, are you all right?”

His fading footsteps filled the silence I’d made by not answering. I couldn’t trust what would come out of my mouth, so I stayed still and let him walk away after several attempts to talk to me.

My mark stared back at me from the mirror, faint in the low light, almost harmless. I wiped my eyes and stood, t

ZuriThe music at the masquerade ball had shifted into something slow and haunting by the time Lira came out from one of the inner halls, walking beside Kain.Even from a distance, I could sense her nerves. Kain tried to take her hand, but she pulled away. Everyone else probably thought it was nothing. I knew better. When Kain's hand brushed her lower back, I could feel bile rise in my throat. As much as I hated it, if I were in her place, I would have flaunted that bond to the world. Why hide what was supposed to be divine?Unless it wasn’t real.Unless she was faking it.Then Jax appeared. He came up behind her with a small dish, holding something to her lips. She hesitated, then opened her mouth. He fed her. When he stepped aside, Riven passed by and his hand brushed her hip.Selena let out a low whistle. “What’s this? A family hobby? Are they running a train on her now?”Astoria laughed quietly. “Triplet fetish, maybe?”My jaw tightened. “It’s not a fetish,” I said before I could

LiraI rested my head on Riven’s chest, letting his fingers weave lazily through my hair, and for a moment, the world outside our little upstairs living room didn’t exist. Riven never talked much, and somehow, that silence felt safer than any conversation could.I allowed myself a small sigh, thinking ahead. If Jax and Kain agreed to share me and learn to coexist, maybe then I’d have room to reveal the truth of what I carried inside without risking everything. That thought gave me a flicker of hope. The door creaked, and Kain stepped in first, Angie trailing behind him. The little girl clutched her new doll, the exact replica of what Zuri had burned.Kain struggled to hide his frown. “Where’s Jax?”“He’ll come,” I blurted. “I’m sure.”Kain scoffed. “Don’t vouch for that one. Shows up whenever, acts like nothing’s on anyone else’s schedule. Typical.”Jax appeared in the doorway, casual as ever. “Is my name receiving the usual slander?”Kain said nothing. Jax’s eyes locked on me. “Darli

LiraEver since the masquerade ball, I felt a knot in my stomach that refused to untangle. Seeing Garrick, Selena, and Astoria was a sign of trouble.Garrick greeted me first, acting like he actually cared. I’d learned enough about men like him to know the performance.“Good to see you again, Lira. How are you settling in?”I kept my expression neutral. “I’m managing, thank you, my Lord.”His sister, Selena, hovered near him, pretending to busy herself with a wine glass, but I felt the intensity of her gaze. Astoria mirrored her from the opposite side, smiling, and I couldn’t tell if it was genuine or not.Garrick’s eyes gleamed the way they always did when he was about to flex power. “I hear you’ve been doing remarkably well. Exponential progress, I’d say.”“Exponential progress?” I asked, confused.“Yes,” he said, lowering his tone. “A little birdie tells me that you are the triplets’ mate.”My heart jumped, though I didn’t show it. Of course, they would find out. Zuri talking to Se

AthenaI knew the second Zuri started moving toward me what she intended. She wanted to ruin my mood, and she was very, very good at it. I could see her smug satisfaction even before she reached me, the way her eyes flicked toward Riven and Lira to provoke me.I’d been watching him all night. How handsome he looked. How every thought in my head kept circling back to him. And now Zuri was coming to shove salt into the wound. How the hell did she even know? It had to be that night Elora made me drink, the night we’d spilled our secrets, when my world still made sense before everything shifted. Zuri must have been there or overheard somehow, hanging around her sister like she always did. Typical spoiled brat behavior, always thinking about herself, always selfish. And yet, I had to admit, she might have a point. If she had gone so far as to trace Lira’s background, then maybe there was something strange about the bond between her and the triplets, something that didn’t quite fit with the
